I've got one. I get about 25mpg in mixed city/highway driving. 235k miles and the damn thing refuses to quit. Sometimes I go camping with it (pic related)

As far as problems go? Apparently the valves might need adjustment after a while. I checked mine and they're good to go. Solid cars, paid $2k for mine. Really the jack of all trades. Won't win any races but they'll be reliable, you'll have an urge to go camping in 20f weather, and your friends will ask you to help them move because of all the cargo space.

Honda autos (mostly the old ones) don't use a sprag or planetary.

Hit or miss, but mostly miss. The clutches like to go out on various models. The H4 can go out in a range of 110-300k miles. The H4A is more reliable, but they will start acting up around 150k if they're not taken care of (spoiler: most aren't) and the MP7A-SP7A are usually the most reliable.

As you're aware, Hondamatics are manual transmission shifted by individual hydraulic clutches. Maintenance plays a massive roll in keeping these transmissions up like any auto transmission, but in hindsight when buying an old Honda, it's not even worth buying an automatic. It's save time and headaches of wondering 'will S4 actually work today?'

>>
>>14202936
Damn idle is still bouncy but it's not as bad. That plug is definitely the right one unless this Civic-EG forum post is wrong (Blue/yellow-yellow/black).

I just unplugged it and my idle is much better. I think I might consider just deleting it. I'll work with it unplugged tonight at work and see how it goes.

Also my fan isn't on 24/7 anymore like with the old harness and it turns on when it needs to. Temps are perfect.
>>
>>14203349
Didn't you say it could be your ECU?
>>
>>14204088
Yeah but I plugged another in and experienced no change. Maybe that ECU is messed up too. Might try a friend's out of his EJ or something. If something starts fucking up I'll plug the IACV back in. I know deleting them by putting a block off plate in its place is a thing with customized Hondas so I'll consider that. Can just get a long hose to keep the coolant flow.
>>
>>14201840
Is it going to get reorganized into models/generations?

>>
>>14204505
Strongly, STRONGLY consider a 2013 Civic Si sedan.

The 2013 is better than the 2012 in little ways, plus the price isn't that far off a 2012 from what I see at the dealer's used lot. The sedan's chassis stiffness is greater than the coupe as well, I liked the rigidness of it when I drove the sedan.

You'd regret purchasing 2000-2009 Civics at this point. The 2010-2011 was okay and the 2012 is when they were quality enough for me to like. The exception there is the EP3.

Shit, you can replace the boot pan, the headlight mount/rear panel and the quarters from Honda. Granted those manufactured (if they even produce them anymore) would cost a fortune, but glorious welded unibody has its advantages when going to replace shit.

With a hammer and bondo, that would be more of a feat to repair.

these are the adjusters on a stock lamp housing bucket. not sure if the denjis have these exactly because of the housing buckets but there should be similar. also every bolt location has elongated holes for more adjustement even the corner bolt behind the bumper.
>>
>>14204703
I looked for those on the Denji and they didn't have them. I did use those adjusters on my old ones though. I think there's just the top bolts on these and the one on the side toward the middle of the car. There were no threads on the outer side behind the bumper for some reason. Maybe a manufacturing error but the lights are on there pretty solid. No shaking at all with force.

I personally think Honda has done very well with the new Civic commercial ahere the car drives out of the guy's head.

However, while the pic related Accord commercial seemed like a powerful message to me, the appeal was lost once they brought out an Accord.

It was 10 below this morning when I started my CR-V, but it fired up on the first crank.

The "BRAKE" light stayed on for a minute after I released the parking brake, which I thought was odd, but otherwise no issues.
>>
>>14213237
If it's like my Civic, the light stays on when brake fluid is low.

Just checked and it was a little low, but nothing that should have tripped the sensor. I'll chalk it up to 16 year old electrics acting fuckiy in subzero temps.

Ebay is good for alot of things. But buying cheap ebay coilover is a bad idea. If your just replacing a broken stock part its great. But the unbranded honda coilovers are godawful even if they dont break a few months after you put them on.

Oh shit another DA driver. This is my interior, I'd love to completely redo it since my Integra has a grade-A history to it.

Front jack point is the scissor jack stud right in the front right behind the mudflap. There are directions on the jack itself or on 2GIC. Never use the unibody rails, they're like butter.

From the looks of it, you bought the best DA9, the 1990-1991 RS. Also, looks like you have no rust or noticeable body work. 11/10

Attempt #20 at the captcha. I'll try as anon

That what it feels like. I know a few months ago I was whipping the wheel around hard in a dead end street and it made that loud pop when I had the wheel all the way in one direction. I think I'll just replace the whole thing.

Hell at the rate I'm going I'll have everything new except the engine. lol
>>
>>14222444
Shit I feel you there. I found more rust on my Integra yesterday that I've seen, but not seen. My rear bumper at the driver's side mount has always stuck out and I never new why until I saw the huge patch of cancer.

I plan on dumping money into this thing to make it semi-restored and that shit adds up. If the lotto numbers I got from fortune cookies were right, I'll have Honda restore it to the last bolt, but with VTEC lmao

Welcome to the cheap car club, bud. My car needs about $1000 right now but my wallet keeps being empty. Maybe when I get my tax return...
>>
Does anyone have a Type R EK9?
I've been so in love with these cars, mostly how they look, but how well do they run? I honestly want to buy one whenever my Prelude dies on me. I'd make mine look like pic related. Black with white rims on these cars just get me so hard.
>>
>>14222469
Luckily I have no regrets for getting the car. Yeah I have to replace things but it's just a joy to drive and I make my money back on it quick since Pizza Hut literally pays me to drive it. It helps that I have a GOAT uncle that is always willing to help out. I saved hundreds on that clutch replacement.

Thanks for the praise man, you(and myself) will have to thank my neighbors though, they gave this to my mom as a gift, and she pretty much gave it to me. Belonged to a very nice Korean family that took amazing care of the car, and it's so much fun to drive. I just want to get it as close to showroom status as possible. I've read about the front behind-the-wheelwell jack points but I know the 1st and 3rd gen tegs have a jackpoint underneath the front of the car, and I was wondering if the 2nd gen has one as well. Your Integra looks *clean* by the way, really loving the look.

Who /race/ here?

I want to get into track racing. If anyone here in /hg/ has experience autocrossing or maybe even rallying their honda I'd love to get some advice from you.

I currently own a 1993 prelude with an h22a1. I've never been a fan of fwd or hondas but I like this car. Is it worthwhile for me to use a prelude as a platform to build off of or am I crazy? I'm talking about suspension, brakes, engine rebuild, possibly a turbo if I decide to go down that road. Am I silly for wanting to build a FF honda or should I buy a miata, 240sx, foxbody, or a civic hatch to track like other people do.

It's not bad. You need to take the window cowl off which is only 4 clips. The oil change is a pain in the ass, but only because of the filter placement by Honda. I ended up getting a 2011 MK6 GTI. Already got big plans for it.

I don't see alot of 240s mostly because the amount of performance you need to get past some cars stock is $$$$. 240s with a ka24 are slow unless boosted and then there slightly faster than a gt86.

I see alot egs with k20s and k24s haulin ass. Only seen one lude though but that's 4th Gen right? It handles really well isn't a pig and h22 is mad decent. I see a lot of miatas, never stock either and they do very well on the track and fun to drive.

From what I've read yea, a 4G63 exhaust, or either a4/a6 (Now that I've looked it up, I had it backwards, A4 is tubular, A6 is cast. A6 is considered the easier one to find.)
And while you're at it, the A6 cam, and ECU.
