No, not edgy. It's a fucking factual statement. You don't need a full face helmet for conefagging and the occasional (and probably VERY slow) trackday. A smart person would've bought an open face helmet for the better airflow and convenience for such light-duty use. You only get a full face helmet in the following circumstances:
-Motorcycles
-Open top race/track cars
-Real racing where it is already going to be mandated

It's inconvenience and overkill for autocross.

If you get into a situation where you can get facial injuries while doing autocross or some pedestrian HPDE event, you deserve them. You'd have to be mindblowingly incompetent as a driver and basically go straight into an oncoming car, pole or wall.

I mean that thing looks properly screwed on so he would have to do it beforehand(not like some motorbike helmets where you can take the visor off without even taking off the helmet) but I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work
