It's an A6. A car that's current model starts at 46k and is probably not seen as being 'affordable' for most people. He doesn't own one and probably doesn't see himself ever owning one.

You also just have something he doesn't. Hell, I thought my friend's Ridgeline was a nice car. Why? Because I didn't have one or even a car for that matter, so that alone made it 'nice'.
