I don't know if anybody remembers my thread.
I don't know if anybody cares.
A little while back I posted my car asking for advice on fixing it, and pretty much everyone unanimously told me it wasn't fixable even if it was worth the effort to do.
It's taken 3 weeks of every single waking hour not at work, and $275 worth of parts, but goddammit I drove my stupid $500 car to work today, and hopefully I'll never have to wait on a ride again.
I'll post a before pic as well as some progress pics for your enjoyment/suffering. There's not much to see but damn if I'm not proud of this stupid ugly car.
Now the only question is, should i put a bull bar on it and paint a punisher logo on the hood, or leave it be?
I hit a tree doing 50.

Obviously you should.
Fuck the naysayers.
>>11711271
If you hit a tree doing 50, you deserve to make that car whatever you want. Fuck the haters, fuck crowds and trying fit in with a scene, you go man. Do what the rest of us are too reserved to do.
saturns seem to be the unsung heroes of the beater car world. .. i love mine
stance it lol
The subframe had to be cut so the engine could go back to where it was supposed to be.
Had to winch the engine to another car to pull it the 4 or 5 inches needed to go back on the mount after replacing the timing cover which was completely shattered.
Surprisingly, the car drives straight and doesn't really wobble or vibrate any more than it did before the accident.
I blew about four fuses when the front wiring for the headlights got smashed together.
>>11711271
If you put that much effort into a SL1 you must be hard up for cash.
>>11711271
>That fucking Saturn.
Dude, you should totally go for a fucking bar. The fact that you fixed it is killer.
>>11711305
>owns a $500 SL1
>poorfag status still questioned
It took two of us and a 3 foot cheater bar on a breaker bar to get that crankshaft bolt out.
I even tried jacking up the breaker bar, and the car was on one wheel before I gave up on it.
>>11711332
that' s a sick ass basket, yo.
Look at that frame rail.
A japanese swordsmith couldn't even fold metal like that.
>>11711332
Couldn't get an impact on it?
>Has put an unsafe, twisted heap of shit on the roads our families drive on
>Expects us to cheer
Yeah congrats you complete fucking retard.
>>11711349
relax senor spergs, if anyone is gonna get seriously injured in a crash involving that thing, it's gonna be him
>>11711349
>>11711341
I used it to pick up all the nuts and bolts after separating them from fragments of inner fender and radiator support after prying things open to get to the engine.
>>11711271
Yes. Bull bar B|
>>11711348
Wouldn't budge.
>>11711349
If anything, I'd probably die if I got hit by a moped and the moped rider would ride away unscathed.
I'm seriously considering spraying the radiator with an AEM or GReddy logo
>>11711383
Do it.
For some reason I thought the OP thumbnail was of a Plymouth Superbird. Don't ask.
You should put "Superturd" on it.
>>11711349
get that sand out of your vagina
>>11711271
I'd try to fit a bumper from another 90's shitbox, like a Corolla or a 323.
>>11711383
>I'm seriously considering spraying the radiator with an AEM or GReddy logo
Blitz looks better.
>>11711463
Blitz will probably be easier to do, too.
I have a magnum front bumper I can ziptie to it.
The headlights are like 4 inches too close to each other to put a stock front end on, and the bumper I have is so twisted and warped it's ridiculous.
How did you accomplish this feat OP? 75% of the people on this board wouldn't have been able to do this/would have taken it to a shop. Do you already have experience fixing cars? Nice job.
>>11711395
So did I, come to that.
>>11711349
get a load of this faggot
>>11711271
You drive that thing to work?
>>11711332
post pics of the chebby
Build a Daytona nosecone out of sheet metal and affix a silly large wing.
Its the only way.
>>11711771
I got the engine together and back on the mounts just last night, so technically speaking I only drove it to work once since the wreck, but yes.
>>11711800
Not mine to post, sorry. spoilers: it's a 150 business
>>11711818
Considering it. It would look unbelievably stupid though. Also, I shit you not, I've been contemplating putting a roadrunner horn on it for months now, but was torn between that and ferrari badges.
If I don't mad max it, I'll probably bosozoku it, which is the same thing I guess. I'm so unbelievably exhausted from constant wrenching on this thing though, so a push bumper and a logo stencil might be all the effort I have left.
>>11711271
Is that a 1" pipe with hose clamps holding the front frame together?
>>11711867
>so a push bumper and a logo stencil might be all the effort I have left.
Weld a large bull bar to front and call it day. Post results here.
dude, i salute you! your ability to keep on the the road with your cheapfuckery is beautiful. a glorious sight to behold.
imo just a whatever 90`s, or even better- 80`s, bumper you can fit and roll with it. dont do any spray paint crap on it. yeah its a beater, but i dont see no reason to make fun of it. its like a hobo that bites and kicks people.
>>11711271
Thats cool op but i hope you dont have another accident because it wont save you next time. Its going to put some metal in your lap next time
>>11711279
>>11711279
and it only did that?
Holy shit saturns confirmed for almost volvo tier durability.
>>11711271
I said it was possible with effort weeks back. I'm happy to see what u were able to do.
>>11711395
thought the same, only reason i came
>>11711867
>150 business
Is that the one without the back seats? I know one of the packages on a 150 got the car with only front seats.
>>11711279
Theres no way you were doing 50 when yoh hit that. 25-30 tops
