I would like to hijack this thread to post an issue i've just run into:
I went to post an article as a new thread but was told i can't have more than 5 active threads on this board.
I think that is a bit too low for such a slow board. My first thread was on December 18th which means i've posted 1 thread every 4 days, on average. Is that really just too much, too fast for this board to handle?
Don't get me wrong, I like the pace of this board, it's not like a 24/7 crack-cocaine news service or anything. It's a place where we can actually discuss news beyond its mass-media lifespan.
I just wish the limit was a little higher so we could keep discussion up. This was the article, btw:
>>China stocks trading halted after rout
I agree. Making people write ensures they can't just dress up their shitty arguments with a pretty picture platitude and act like they are relevant to the conversation. Now they have to put their 4-word-no-thought opinion in an honest 4 words and be judged for it.
There are still some people apparently who are trying to derail the board with stories like OPs and shitposts like the guy who was spamming porn links earlier (it got deleted at least). I don't know why some people hate /news/.
This is the best we can do

but /pol/ was hijacked by stormfront-posting lunatics
/n/ used to be a place where reasonable discourse occured, then a few raids to stormfront led to some backwash
4chan was already full of weak minded copycats who got an adrenaline rush out of being able to post the word nigger. So the stormfront posters managed to find a place, and what started out as ironic bullshit turned into a weird libertarian racist ideology perpetuated by NEETs who never stopped posting.
