Do people where you live look down upon riding bikes, seeing it as something only for kids and poor people? Seeing people post this kinda shit is almost surreal.

It depends on where you live. If you're in the USA then it's understandable that many places are simply not conducive to cycling due to the disgusting cager culture and fucked ubran sprawl.
Plus it is no secret that the USA has insane rates of obesity. It would make sense that many of the users on 4chan are overweight or obese. When you're fat the power to weight ratio isn't there and exercising can feel way harder than it should be.
Culturally as well in the USA there is a big divide between rich and poor. I think that quote by John Steinbeck is spot on "Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat, but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires." You see this when British people get their fucked up teeth looked after but not corrected and whitened whereas Americans have a social imperative to appear wealthier than they actually are. In places where cycling is not a common form of transportation you might look poor or people might even think you got busted for drink driving.
