I actually posted and earlier version of this maybe two or three weeks ago here and it didn't garner anywhere close to these responses. Anons were saying it was disjointed, unpolished, etc so it's pretty cool to see whatever the hell I did last night worked. Moral of the story is last minute changes are the shit!

i know little about production but i hear this a lot and it sounds good to my pleb ears but it's faceless and bland after a while if you listen to songs composed only of that type of beat

I don't think creativity is what you're lacking. Just keep practicing and you'll learn skills that will allow you to turn that into a full song. Learning more about theory would help if you wanna make music similar to the link you posted.

I can't help with that. I'm guessing it's not any kind of sourcery though it's just spending the last 20 odd years fucking around with amen breaks and perfecting your art.
I remember reading a thread over on dogs on acid a while back asking what processes were used to get a certain amen to sound like it did, there were lots of people saying it wasn't just an amen break but lots of other breaks layered on top, turned out it was just an EQed amen. Some people have turned the amen into an astonishing art form...unfortunately I'm not one of them and all my amen's sound rubbish.
I'd love to know a few tips on getting lush sounding amen's desu.

Sorry I upset you anon. I'll rephrase my answer. Dillinja has been perfecting the sound of his breaks for over 20 years, it's very doubtful that there is a simple answer to this question other than EQ, compression and drive/distortion...probably still through a Mackie mixer

regarding amens:
EQ and mixdown are key, meaning that more often than not what makes an amen tune stick out is not some amazing magical processing on the break itself but the fact that the other elements in the track are mixed in such a way that you don't have too many frequencies overlapping with the meat of the break.
there's a reason most oldschool jungle sounds are so minimal, mostly just drums and sub with a few noises sprinkled in for variety.
a lot of newer amen-based tunes have pads and reverbs that are overpowering the drums and muddying the whole tune up, i do the same mistake whenever i go for that kind of style.

basically there's only so far that layering and processing a break can get you in terms of "punch" or whatever you wanna call it, the final mile towards a banging tune is always how the rest of the track is arranged around the drums.
