>>74565502
not ones that are extrememly lasting, but theres some particularly unique bands, ie - sweet trip, candy claws...
Dream pop in general is less homogenous and is really popular in indie music right now.

damn /shugazi/ help me..
i love a lot of shugazi sounds, especially the more noiserocky side of the spectrum. lately exploring new bands and albums has me burned out though. a lot of it isound very samey, so far that i'm often unable to distinguish between different tracks or even bands. i know a lot of shoegaze is structured like that and i usually just go for the feel or emotion i get from an album in general, however even that is often times interchangable and albums replacable. how get over this /shugazi/ and what should i listen to next?
c-check it

What's better: Souvlaki or Loveless?
>>74618975
what are you doing in japan
>>74617926
so basically you got a few choices
>Beach Boys - All I Wanna Do (1970)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO_LX-m74uw
People say it's the first chillwave. Nails the dreamy aesthetic of dream pop with reverb and fuzzy production, but lacks the wall of guitars aspect of shoegaze.
>Brian Eno - Here Come the Warm Jets (1974)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YR58vE6GYic
Lots of fuzz here, even has the incomprehensible vocals towards the end.
>Glenn Branca - The Ascension (1981)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wERU4NiAtlE
Pretty much nails the dense, floaty mush of guitars that would pave the way for shoegaze. There are like 4 guitars on this album I think.
>MX-80 Sound - Obsessive Devotion (1981)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL9Kh04JKu8
This one has a very quintessential shoegaze aesthetic I think. It's simultaneously melancholic and dreamy, has the wall of guitars, barely comprehensible, reverbed vocals. All that's needed is some noise and they got it down pat.
>Cocteau Twins as you already said (1982) and JAMC (1985) both released seminal works that influenced the rest of the genre
>A.R. Kane - Haunting (1986)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF18bkfrZUE
Still two years before MBV released Isn't Anything and this is a straight up noise pop/shoegaze masterpiece. The guitars all fuse together to form a beautiful wall of sound and feedback and effects come flying at you left and right.
