Serious question, why is Art Angels considered "experimental". Not saying it as a knock on the album, which is okay i guess, but there isn't much that strikes me as out of the box innovation. Most if not all songs follow typical structure and meter with no real instrumental oddities other than abrasiveness which in the current musical landscape is not that groundbreaking. The only thing that approaches "experimental" is Scream, but i chalk it up to the foreign vocals, which are a *cough*gimmick*cough*. again, not hating on the actual content of the album, just wondering why it is heralded as "experimental pop" when it seems fairly conventional by modern standards. ALSO distinct sounding =/= experimental, that just means its unique in execution of the same formula, not changing the formula itself. ALSO ALSO for examples of actual experimental pop since youll inevitably ask: Fiery Furnaces, Hawaii Part II, Mew, and Stereolab are a few.
