Why is Crack-Up a meme album?

It hasn't been memed in the traditional sense.

Perhaps you mean it's trendy or hip? But indie folk hasn't been trendy or hip for a few years now.
>>
FJM B T F O

what a hack
>>
>>73371984
Because it's bland manufactured indie.
>>
>>73372038
It's not really bland or manufactured. I felt the album was very inspired

their best album by quite a bit
>>

also this
>>

Have you seen the Crack-Up threads on here? A bunch of obsessed FF fans sperging out acting like Robin is some genius nuclear physicist savant and unable to tolerate anyone saying they do not like Crack-Up. I like the album too but they need to chill the fuck out. It's just a cool prog folk album for a time when prog folk is really nowhere on the scene.
>>
where the hell are you guys listening to the album?
>>
>>73372323
delet this
>>
>>73372538
it leaked over a month ago.

it's also streaming here: http://www.npr.org/2017/06/08/531099733/first-listen-fleet-foxes-crack-up

literally posting on my couch with a poodle on my lap posting on a music board. couldn't be more calm and comfy than right now.

That review seemed way more positive then that score.

But whatever, its a great album and addresses really any issues one might have had with their previous work.
>>
>>73373568
>>
>>73373589
This happens a lot, especially with Ian Cohen. He'll be absolutely blown away by a record but the rest of the staff aren't as crazed so his review seems a bit misaligned with the score.

pssst. he hasn't actually listened to the album
>>73372446
no, the last one the guy said that the lyrics were impossible to understand, then posted lyrics, then looked like a dumbass after someone explained them to him. pic related.
>>
>>73374807
>The same lyrics could be applied in favor of either side, so no, it really does talk without actually saying anything

The point is that there's a universality to that feeling that can be seen in all of those issue you colossal retard.

Damn...I need a snorkeling kit for lyrics this deep.

does anyone have a link to V0/320 that doesn't have the spaces in between the tracks? Been wanting to hear All that I Need into Cassius without that dang skip

I don't think there is one.

you are missing the argument entirely for the sake of trying to be belligerent and humorous.

They don't hate white people, they just like black people more.

explain this then
>>
>>73376514
They like white people who submit to black people, like robin
>>
>>73373895
All of the songs grow a lot on you, Listening to any Fleet foxes when you kow the lyrics yourself makes it a lot better.
You can't really help but sing along and love the lush instrumentation, especially in Helplessness Blues.

I count 7 here (and those are just the ones I know for sure are black, there might be more than that) out of 24, or a bit under 1/3 of the albums. That's a lot considering their percentage of the population.
>>
>>73371462
7.5 tbqh
>>
I think it's fair to say that Fleet Foxes do what they do nearly perfectly. They have a sound that no one else has at the moment. Whether or not that's your taste is on you, but this shit is objectively fantastic. They could easily be as bad as Lord Huron.
>>
>>73376822
Nah it's dense for the sake of density, the melodies are randomly placed, and the lyrics are word salad tier
>>
>>73376863
>dense for the sake of density

again with the retards. go listen to A Crow Looked at Me and cry again.
>>
>>73376863
The only dense parts are the intro, the closer, and odaigahara

I'm going to venture a guess that you've listened to this once and skipped most of it.
>>
>>73376717
please inform us what the acceptable number of albums by black people we're allowed to enjoy, statistically speaking, you fucking mongoloid.
>>
Those 10 minutes of Cassius, - Naiads, Cassadies, and Kept Woman are fucking bliss

Then you have the SOTY (June) on the 2nd half. Entire album is a trip.
>>
>>73377081
As many as you want, you stupid asshole, I'm just proving my point. Calm yourself bitch.
>>
>>73377111
proving your point that they like black people more than white people even though they were still in the minority of the albums you posted?
>>
>>73377137
I don't even know how to respond to this it's so stupid. The point is that they're vastly overrepresented. You don't need to be over 50% to be overrepresented, genius.
>>
>>73370612
pretty accurate. I'd probably put it .1 higher but that's because I'm a pleb right?
>>
>>73370612
This means nothing and you know it
>>
>>73372323
If you think this i can only imagine that you're a dickhead who writes thinkpieces and thinks corporations should be more 'woke'
>>
>>73377216
>vastly overrepresented
>As many as you want, you stupid asshole

so which is it? what is the number to be overrepresented?

pretty sure you're the one who's a stupid asshole here.
>>
>>73377216

did it ever occur to you that P4K gives scores based on how much they like the album and not what race the artist is

I know that /pol/ folk think that's impossible but it actually isn't
>>
>>73372038
try listening to the album next time
>>
>>73377318
/pol/ folk is now a genre

oh wait, there's already FJM 7.4 BTFO
>>
>>73377299
>>73377318
All I'm saying is that that sort of overrepresentation combined with articles about "The unbearable whiteness of indie" and calling Beyonce a Venus of our times, etc. gives the impression that they have a soft spot for black artists.
>>
>>73377373
and i'm asking you what determines overrepresentation and you won't answer the question, you just keep bringing up separate albums or articles. Is discussing black music at all evident of overrepresentation? or is there a certain criteria you are basing your claim on.
>>
>>73372323
(Nice meme)
>>
>>73370612
I haven't listened to that album but the fact that you unironically speak like this just gave me clinical depression
>>
Yeah it's pretty obvious that Conde Nast's pitchfork are capitalising on white guilt and identity politics just like when it took over the New Yorker. Black artists are being propped up, often times a lot of mediocre hip-hop is given praise it doesn't deserve while white indie artists are knocked down. There's gotta be a better music site.
>>
>>73377945

Adding to this affirmative action trend of politicised reviews, we also have poptimism which so many of you hopelessly buy into.
>>
>>73377945
thequietus isn't too bad. there's also always RYM
>>
>>73371462
It's a light 7.41 for me
