>inb4 The Bends doesn't define RH's sound
Most overrated is relative, because it's still a great album.
Also not counting the postmortem releases
It doesn't, Amnesiac does. That's where they struck their specific blend of electronic and rock elements. The albums leading up to it worked toward that point and the albums after have stuck to and refined it ever since.
Right about XO and Roman Candle, I'd switch s/t and Either/Or though, and you forgot Figure 8, though it might fit in any of those categories, since it's not bad but it's not any of the other categories either
This is up 'til 1980. Finally going through the post-'80 morass now.
Not exactly how I'd categorize 'em, but close enough that I can dig it.
Really, any chart that has TMS as "most overrated" I can dig.
you now guys this is only my opinion, right?
Completely agree, although I think sound defining album would go to TMS or TPTB
Seriously, Lodger is hardly mentioned compared to the other two thirds of the Berlin trilogy, let alone when you add in his other 70s work. Lodger should be filed under 'underrated' or be off the chart altogether.
>Animals in Best
>Meddle in Underrated
>Dark Side not in Overrated
Okay yeah, I'll agree with that. But also, what >>62054221 said.
>In the Wake of Poseidon
too accurate to be true
>atom heart mother
>"at least they tried"
not as bad as OPs but still very off
All of it should be under "At least they tried"
nldw isn't their best but other than that this is fairly accurate
Ferris Wheel on Fire is their best and most concise album, Avery Island is pretty damn good too but isn't as cohesive as ITAOTS and has some weaker songs too.
You and I obviously disagree. This is okay.
I also found out today I don't like my favorite band nearly as much as I thought. They don't do enough Lizard.
I wish there was a "just okay" category for Mylo Xyloto but whatever
on mobile but:
BEST - Strawberry Jam, Merriweather Post Pavilion, Here Comes The Indian, Feels
Overrated - Spirit
Underrated - Indian
Defining Album - Feels
They Tried - Danse, CHz
I think IotH and DGB define their sound because it represents them at their best ("All I Want", "Gone Away", "Amazed", "Change the World" for Ixnay and "The Future Is Now", "Secrets from the Underground", and "Slim Pickens" for DGB) and their worst ("Don't Pick It Up" for Ixnay, "Cruising California" for DGB).
And I dunno, Smash never really appealed to me as much as it does to other people.
Americana has the songs they are most known for. Smash also has some very famous songs like Self Esteem and Come Out and Play and generally considered their best. I think more people would think of the Offspring for those two albums more than any others.
>yeezus is simultaneously the best, worst, most underrated and overrated ye album
sounds about right desu
you're right. most people just hear "that's that" and "gazillion ear" and thing "FUCKING MASTERPIECE" (no diss on those songs at all)
i still stand that madvillainy is his best album, not his defining sound. DOOMSDAY defined it, madvillainy perfected it and added more flavor.
If you don't like Radiohead why even try. They put out consistently great material.
Animals is the best PF album by far
️OKC defines their sound in the 90s and maybe a little bit of Kid A.
I think In Rainbows probably defines their sound the best.
>the wall on best
>momentary lapse of reason and endless river on overrated
>At least they tried; Atom Heart Mother, Ummagumma, Final cut
Just please, please, leave and never come back
>Adore under at least they tried
pretty fuckin great
(i would switch strawberry jam and sung tongs
then switch MPP and feels)
i've grown tired of this meme
this is embarrassing
>>implying they tried
i'd split up TPTB, notm in best and JD in atleast they tried. and exm defines their sound best imho
fashion week is underrated tho
this is good
discipline is overrated as fuck and itcock best defines their sound

i really don;t think sftb defines swans' sound in any way, it's their most varied album, yes, but it also is their most unique album, some of the sounds there appear nowhere in swans' career.
>I am 57 years old.
>No, you are the pleb. My ratings are objective.
