Pic related is an awesome album to listen to while reading or writing. Interesting enough not to get tedious. Relaxing without putting you to sleep. No lyrics so you don't start singing along. Just perfect.
Any other artists you can recommend?
i'm starting to take a lot of online classes next month and this thread is very relevant to my interests, thanks for posting
Eno's Ambient series

^^^^^^
Ambient shit is probably best, or no music at all
This album really helped me study through college
Selected ambient works 85 92
Unknown pleasures (imo might not work for everyone)
Autechre - Amber
If you like acoustic guitar music, check out Kaki King. Also, I find that listening to music with lyrics in languages I don't speak keeps me from from focusing on the lyrics while still being able to hear a vocal melody.

my band just recorded at the same studio that emeralds recorded this album if i'm not mistaken - maybe it was one of their other ones.
besides that, i usually listen to brian eno when i study if i listen to anything. sometimes sigur ros but it distracts me a bit more

I don't know what your music taste is like. Here's some possible genres you might want to look into though: tropicalia (brazilian psych-pop from late 1960s primarily), ye-ye (french pop with female vocalists from 1960s), krautrock (german avant-garde with prog and ambient elements). Those are three genres I've found a lot of good music in.
desu senpai
Some of my favorites are Tim Hecker, Haxan Cloak, Oneohtrix Point Never, The Caretaker, 2814, and Forest Swords

second this
I've done plenty of research and I've concluded that this is the very worst possible song to listen to while studying. Do you agree?
