I feel that hip hop is reaching an apex. We have trap bangers, club bangers, white meme funny rap and le introspective oppressed rap. I think it's going to take a nose dive soon along with edm.

There's already derivative rap for all of the things you mentioned. That said there's still artists in both genres releasing good music and innovating, that's not really going to change. I'd say EDM is worse off since it's a lot easier for someone to "make it big" in EDM if they have a lot of money and the right connections. At least with rap you need some kind of emotion, not soulless cash grabs.

Sure jazz is good and all but if you've ever read dizzy's book "to be or not to bop" at some point he stops reading music and begins covering and creating the first theories on remixing and song variation in a way that a novice can understand.
