What is /objectively/ the best music player?
A good CD player + hifi
motorola razor
Windowns Media Player
foobar
Foobar can be amazing if you're any good with writing/modifying scripts to get it skinned just right. Musicbee is solid out of the box, but lacks customization. I've also heard good things about MediaMonkey.

ok, but which client do you use and why is it ncmpcpp?
>>61983759
Because I run a tiling setup with heavy terminal usage and ncmpcpp just werks.

mpd + ncmpcpp
It just works and means I can organise my music myself and browse it just via directory structure. Only extra feature I'd like would be able to rate stuff so if I listen to a single song and like it I can find it again.

Does it have a library organizer, or is it just by-folder view?
I was using mocp for some time, but was too lazy to organize the music, so folder navigation was tiring, so I switched to Clementine, which I keep in a separate tag, but sometimes feel as if having a small player in a terminal window would be quite cool.
