>tfw Constellations comes on after the chaos in Echo, Bravo
stratosphere & echo bravo are good lifting songs as well.
Does anyone know similar bands/albums to Broken Social Scene's Feel Good Lost? They're albums after are meh but Feel Good Lost is great for studying and i want more.
pls no additional duster or bowery electric
How come nobody talks about the equally fantastic Contemporary Movement?
>tfw the smooth vocals kick in towards the end of Earth Moon Transit
Love it everytime.
I fell asleep to this album and I woke up to Sideria while having sleep paralysis and I couldn't move, all my muscles tight and frozen, the backwards drums and sounds felt like a demon's voice whispering to me and as soon as those final eerie drones stopped, my body relaxed and I was free. Shit was intense.
doesnt invoke the same response. its great duster but the element of stratosphere which makes it so good is how it absorbs you into this state where you feel like you're in space
Not as good overall but Travelogue and Cooking are some of my favorite tracks of all time. I wish the entire album was as good as those tracks.
Those vocals are something else. This is the kind of music I realize I've always wanted to listen to. It's fucking incredible and criminally underrated.
Heading For The Door
The Twins / Romantica
Shadows of Planes / Two-Way Radio if we're counting interludes
That was actually hard.
Shadow of Planes
What the fuck m8?
The Twins / Romantica
Earth Moon Transit
Sideria (they should have left this off and ended with Twins)
>generic lo-fi indie rock
People will be contrarian about everything and justify it with drivel speak.
Oh fuck. Oh FUCK. I must have left it in my ex girlfriend's closet. I just moved out a few weeks ago, fuck fuck fuck. It's like the full picture of this plane taking off and it says Duster / Stratosphere underneath. This is the closest picture I can find.
>when the drums finally get loud in Stratosphere
>the climaxes in Stratosphere when you hear that fuzzy pitch hit the high note
The fact that no one has mentioned Reeds to Hillsburough being one of the greatest songs of all time is kind of disgusting
This album would be top 10 all time if it wasn't for the last 2 songs.
So, is anyone interested in hearing some real space rock?
Just to show there's no hard feelings:
>Eiafuawn unreleased 14 songs
>Valium Dweller on the Threshold
>Helvetia 97 to about 03 unreleased, 14 songs
This is one of those albums where you can tell they didn't give a fuck about fame or money and just wanted to create something fucking awesome and different. The variety in this album is really impressive.
>pinnacle of space-rock
SPACE ROCK THREAD
nothing tops this tho:
Truthfully, I'm a little indifferent on labeling Duster "space-rock" myself. Real space-rock is sprawling and grandiose, Duster is certainly not.
To me, Stratosphere sounds more like an astronaut in training who breaks his leg and has to watch his friends blast off and explore another planet while he's stuck at home popping Vicodin and romanticizing space the way kids do.
I prefer that to Hawkwind.
I couldn't agree more. An excellent description. I do love Duster so much. I'm just curious about the REALLY spacey progenitors.
Also, the kids fawning all over Stratosphere don't seem to know what my mega links are? Their loss.
This is the current pinnacle of space rock.
Duster is good though.
what the fuck is this? why are his songs unplayable??
Yeah, they're really amazingly good these days.
I guess if you've been trying your hand at psychedelic music for that many years you're bound to hit upon some kind of formula eventually.
I don't like when this album comes up because everytime I see the cover I think it's some electronic stuff, but then when I do a search I remember it's slowcore and then I recall I have seen it posted a gajillion times before. Maybe one day I'll actually listen to it.
Oh and not saying it's bad without listening to it first, but it doesn't seem like my thing and there's plenty of stuff on my backlog I'd prioritize listening to over this.
Christmas Dust is underrated as fuck
Duster isn't really slowcore, it just doesn't feel the same as other slowcore bands.
You should really watch Planetes, that's exactly what it is.
Sub not dub btw, the dub is really shit.
