He's pointing right at us /mu/...

Shitty rappers like Hopsin, Tyler the Creator and Kendrick Lamar show a clear influence
And his commercial success influence the way Rap started being sold to the masses

Fuck off, trailor trash samefag.
>>61954868
No.
>>61954907
Yes.
He has some decent stuff, basically albums 2-4 are decent. The rest I genuinely can't listen to. "Rap God" is the biggest piece of shit released as far as radio music goes until Hotline Bling took the title, but Rap God is still fucking horrendous. Genuinely 0/10, pure dogshit in every way.

Hip-hop was already a hugely commercial genre. It didn't 'start being sold to the masses' after eminem.
Snoop Dogg's debut album went immediately to number one, 6 years before Eminem's first commercial album. (That's not even a very early example, just an obvious one.)

How did Kendrick draw influence from him at all?
>>61956424
He talks first over a beat and uses this to tell a story. This is a direct lineage from Eminem.
He made two amazing records which introduced more emotional and angry esque hip hop to the masses.
He then made a pretty great politically fuelled record.
He then made a record with another pretty tight politically passionate single (however the rest of the record fell short)
He then quit.
He then unquit and delivered some of the worst hip hop records of their respective years.
