scrobbling is broken and here is why:
I have an album composed of 78 short 4-40 second songs. this album is roughly an hour. I also have an album composed of 4 longer songs, also about an hour. let's say I listen to the 78 track album twice. that's 2 hours of listening time. I would need to listen to the 4 track album about 40 times to have last.fm tell me that I listen to both artists the same amount. That would be 40 hours of listening. Any sane human would tell you that I listened to the 4 track album more than the 78 track album. Not last.fm, according to last.fm listened to those two artists the roughly the same amount.
