>Second times the charm right?
What's some of the best metal available for free on bandcamp? Specifically bandcamp, but I'm not gonna be an asshole if something is put out free by the band on their own shit like Demilich and you post it.
Also, yeah I'm aware music is available for free if you download illegally, but fuck man, I'm curious.
I know of, off the top of my head, Cormorant, Okazaki Fragments, Plebeian Grandstand, Zillah, & Elder Giants
And from last thread we got Thou, and Alda
Also PUNCTURED HIDE
Is it just me or is this an amazing year for thrash so far?
>Aleph - Thanatos
>Prog thrash, a bit of death metal and doom metal mixed in
the vocals are take it or leave it, but everything else about this is damn stellar.
>tfw this happens
>now all random anons I will never meet think I'm a lame newfag
What would you recommend to somebody whose favorite metal bands are Artificial Brain, Cattle Decapitation and Chthe'ilist?
I pretty much like anything with really monstrous, low guttural vocals.
this shit right here
thoughts on this thing? for me, I can't stop listening to it.
I don't think that's it but that would be a great word.
Yeah that's it. I always thought bridge and breakdown were the same thing because this one prog band I listened to one time said "break it down now" right before the bridge. I got played this whole time and I didn't even know it.
I'm new-ish to metal, can someone explain to me how pic related is not death metal? A lot of people say it's the rapping but most of the songs don't have rapping
>posted a few threads ago
>death, some black influence from spain
>kinda old school, I think
>hilarious song about judge dredd
I don't know any metal, can someone lead me to the promised land?
if your alright with growling vocals .. this is definitive death thrash metal..
start with heavy and doom metal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sQFIcQL99w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z33VWOaCImQ
I liked Jupiter's latest look desu.
I don't think Shinya literally has a single bad picture. Always looks /fa/ as fuck.
Marrow Of A Bone is a pretty cool album. Uroboros though, I consider to be the best album ever created. I've never found anything that ever compares to it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdceudJz8jA Second song off Uroboros.
Excuse me while I to listen to their discography.
Their works range from different areas so here's a rough chart to guide you a bit if you're wondering where to go.
It's the thought that counts man, who cares if they aren't actually women ;)
Somewhat unrelated to music, but is Warhammer 40k as metal as this album? If so where do I start
Never listened to anything else with wretched vocals but i can't stop listening to this. what else would i like?
Always Keep Growing, and Changing
Never Stop Spreading
I'm this and that when it comes to vocals. I found these guys a few hours ago.
Just starting this, what should i expect?
Listen to me
IN A LAND OF MIGHTY WARRIORS
HONOR AND GLORY, ETERNALLY
this album makes me do big cum cums
>listening to pic related
>shit is pretty cool but feels kinda same-y
>get to Wide Open Wound
>feel the flesh melt off my face
Goddamn they'd sound amazing if they did a sludge album.
So, /metal/; WHAT are you listening to now?
CLERIC - REGRESSIONS
Definitely an album I wish I say DISCUSSED more here.
It really is. Im guessing you know Caladan Brood-Echoes of Battle? For some reason its my go-to rainy day album. just so comf.
I like me some caladan brood which is weird because summoning just doesnt click with me.
My go to rainy day album is this
>tfw marathoing funeral while spamming bard in normals
ooh, add me on league my name is KoolAidPitcher or skype its zminer365
>tfw listening to OSDM and ROTN spamming normals
I liked it a LOT! I grabbed that megashare of 80 OSDM albums and a good grip of them I've never heard.
Decided on Transmigration by Crematory next
Post some underappreciated albums by otherwise acclaimed bands
i've never seen that album art before
see pic related for your request
i was just thinking of listening to this after his majesty at the swamp
the song The Magic of the Wizards Dream is epic as fuck, Christopher Lee guest's on it. It has a little bit more of an symphonic feel as compared to part 1. Imo it's pretty good.
Listen to the first four Sabbath albums or just Paranoid and MoR if you're lazy
Listen to Blues for the Red Sun
Listen to Sleep's Holy Mountain
Listen to Electric Wizard's first three albums for something a little harder-edged and sludgier
listen to sky valley while you're at it.
To all the people wanting to get into stoner/doom/drone. Witchy's list will show you the way.
I was there. First time I heard them. Was pretty good. Finntroll, Testament and Sabaton was awesome.
am i nuts for liking this more than Outre'?
i feel like even though the production's a little cleaner the songs are way more opaque and clusterfucky and the lyrics seem to feature way more made up words, which is good
nothing to get i just think they're a really good band
chaosdragon rising is one of a kind in certain ways
that's a great chart tho desu, special wishes is def an underrated harvey milk release
Is there such a thing as indian/native american folklore inspired black metal or metal in general.
>find an elder god-tier album
>it's the only thing the band ever released
What's her name /metal/?
This album gets posted here a lot and fits your description.
I don't normally like black metal, but this album is incredible.
Is there anything similar I might enjoy?
Dont know why I like this
If anyone have more deathcore like this so share
Also don't take this bait: >>61835006
Shame they split up but their live guitarist has a new project called Speglas which is pretty great.
Also, inside info:
The singer has a new project as well, it will most likely be some kind of continuation of Sweven as he wrote that entire thing.
The bassist and guitarist are also forming a band but it's in the rehearsal stages.
reminder that this is the best metal concept album and not that overrated as fuck operation mindcrime
This band won an award for best rock/metal act of 2015 from swedish state radio. Much better than Tribulation or anything else released by swedes in 2015, right?
Just found orden ogan i like them alot so far whats your guys thoughts on them?
Seeing these guys tonight.
I've found this, /metal/, and my mind is blown. You have 30 secs to explain it
Maybe so, but it tickles my fancy and it should be a fun show at least.
These are the other bands as well
>Hey guys. I'm prog-metal right? Remember to always pay for my music, and make sure to only listen to it in lossless FLAC!
best I could find with my short search, if it dont work just look up dan seagrave artwork and find it on his website
Yeah, I found that one too, I guess Dan made the format square specifically for the CD.
I assumed that it was just a portion not the actual painting. The guy's a fucking genius.
Appreciate the effort tho.
Fucking amazing black metal mixed with a little grindcore.
sharing some slav black metal
Why is nobody talking about this? It's some damn good wankless tech death https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yc3s9OqGsUg
>Steven Wilson makes album with Mikael Akerfeldt
>Bruce Soord from The Pineapple Thief makes album with Jonas Renkse
What other British prog and Swedish metal artists would you want to see collaborating together? What would they sound like?
>Peter Tägtgren and Steve Hogarth
>Dan Swanö and Robert Fripp
>Mikael Stanne and Mike Vennart
>leading naes in avantgarde
>implying avantgarde is popular in anyway
homie Faith No More or like Stolen Babies maybe is fedoracore. Unexpect are too actually decent to be fedora trash.
they def were a fangirl-friendly mall metal band in like 2007 but their past 3 or so full lengths have all been masterpieces of experimental metal and I honestly believe they're as good as they are because of the heavy nu-metal influence they've always had.
Is there any other "happy metal" like this out there? Usually I listen to mostly death/black so this is new for me.
I actually like Patton, I think he's a talented vocalist, and he and Faith no More are not one and the same. But FNM are pretty much the only *actually* popular avant garde band and are loved the world over by people who think that listening to FNM makes them special. That's as fedora as it gets.
I just want to run my hands over her, damn that's some tight tights
This one doesn't stay happy nor is really similar to Dev's stuff but if the first riff doesn't make you take a big ecstatic shit in your pants then you're not human. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-J_CdJ6hBQ
