What's some of the best metal available for free on bandcamp? Specifically bandcamp, but I'm not gonna be an asshole if something is put out free by the band on their own shit like Demilich and you post it.
Also, yeah I'm aware music is available for free if you download illegally, but fuck man, I'm curious.
I know of, off the top of my head, Cormorant, Okazaki Fragments, Plebeian Grandstand, Zillah, & Elder Giants
And from last thread we got Thou, and Alda
Anything?
Also PUNCTURED HIDE
Is it just me or is this an amazing year for thrash so far?

I've found this, /metal/, and my mind is blown. You have 30 secs to explain it
>>61837901

>>61837923
I wonder whats been running through his mind since the incident in Paris.Kinda excited for his next release also, whatever it may be.
>>61837923
>your mind is blown by long haired dude shaving his head, and making shitty le avant garde black metal
What are your goals in life anon?
>>61832409
>>61837954

Only bands that seem like fun are Enforcer and Cauldron.

Does anyone have the Gateways to Annihilation cover art without the MA logo on it?
Preferably something high res, like wallpaper size
>>61829056
What are you looking for? Something proggy, something evil? etc
>>61838067
best I could find with my short search, if it dont work just look up dan seagrave artwork and find it on his website
>>61838042
At least he secretly records French bm.
>>61838101
Yeah, I found that one too, I guess Dan made the format square specifically for the CD.
I assumed that it was just a portion not the actual painting. The guy's a fucking genius.
Appreciate the effort tho.

Fucking amazing black metal mixed with a little grindcore.
>>61827848
The Demilich.
>>61828998
No one cared who they were until they put on the masks.
>>61828998
same reason black metal bands use corpse paint
i.e I really don't even know, they're just really edgy I guess.
>>61837956
He recently BTFO prog metal fans and said how the genre is staganant
https://youtu.be/goPxkF2np44?t=4m32s
>>61838459
>the genre is staganant

DER MUDE TOD
>>61838459
>new storm corrosion album
yay!
>>61838459
was anyone even surprised by this statement?
>>61838459
>prog metal is stagnant
>releases a bunch of albums that just copy dead genres like 70s classic prog
sharing some slav black metal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyCtd_0TWO0
>>61838459
It may he stagnant but it's not like he's helping make a change.
based as fuck
Why is nobody talking about this? It's some damn good wankless tech death https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yc3s9OqGsUg
>>61838589
He constantly tries to do something different though, his last album barely had any symphonic prog influence and his new one will be something else
>>61838659
He hasn't made prog metal since 2009
Best Black Metal songs/albums of 2015?
>Steven Wilson makes album with Mikael Akerfeldt
>Bruce Soord from The Pineapple Thief makes album with Jonas Renkse
What other British prog and Swedish metal artists would you want to see collaborating together? What would they sound like?
>Peter Tägtgren and Steve Hogarth
>Dan Swanö and Robert Fripp
>Mikael Stanne and Mike Vennart
>>61839192
I would rather have Peter Tagtgren and Dan Swano make a metal album desu.
>>61836959

>>61839192
>>Dan Swanö and Robert Fripp
oh yeah this
>>61837215
>leading naes in avantgarde
>implying avantgarde is popular in anyway
homie Faith No More or like Stolen Babies maybe is fedoracore. Unexpect are too actually decent to be fedora trash.
>>61839439
>Patton is fedora-core
>Unexpect are decent
How terrible opinions
>>61830511
they def were a fangirl-friendly mall metal band in like 2007 but their past 3 or so full lengths have all been masterpieces of experimental metal and I honestly believe they're as good as they are because of the heavy nu-metal influence they've always had.

meal for nogf feel?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9B7Grtd0zSQ
Is there any other "happy metal" like this out there? Usually I listen to mostly death/black so this is new for me.

I actually like Patton, I think he's a talented vocalist, and he and Faith no More are not one and the same. But FNM are pretty much the only *actually* popular avant garde band and are loved the world over by people who think that listening to FNM makes them special. That's as fedora as it gets.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmTkWR5qdEU
>>61839669
FNM were always way closer to alternative/funk metal than avant-garde metal
Mr Bungle, Tomahawk or Fantomas on the other hand
>>61839577
I just want to run my hands over her, damn that's some tight tights
>>61839591
This one doesn't stay happy nor is really similar to Dev's stuff but if the first riff doesn't make you take a big ecstatic shit in your pants then you're not human. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-J_CdJ6hBQ
