I actually agree with this post. I can never understand her vocal performance. Although she has good lyrical writing and production, but I tend to not listen to her music too often.

It's actually a combo of both what you expected and what you got. Look up shit on The Process Church Of The Final Judgement. This stuff was pretty common musically in 90s metalcore starting with Integrity themselves (some people call that subgenre holy terror metalcore)

It's rad as fuck, It's like the original tron movies in music form. When I first heard about it I expected djent garbage and instead I got a really cool IDM album.

when I was 14 I marathoned Neon Genesis Evangelion and the Wall and had a nervous breakdown at 10 at night because I was convinced I was worthless. To this day Shinji's character resonates with me.
