>fell for the David Bowie meme
>give him a listen
This is who the whole world has been praising the last few days?
Black star is legitimately my favorite thing by him. Before it came out I just thought Bowie as a shittier version of Queen. After he died I thought I could check his discography out as they seem to be very highly rated. Most of it bored me to no end. I have appreciation for the sounds cape in low though and I think he had some amazing songs such as Starman and rebel rebel. However, most of his shit is mediocre and I feel like I wasted time.
holy FUCK I used to play gamelan for my school when I was around 12 years old and the gamelan is such a fucking meme it's hilarious people take it seriously irl outside of South East Asia. It's literally fucking wedding ceremony music holy fuck
Thank you for the first actual comment in this thread.
First I listened to the first half of Ziggy Stardust, and wasn't impressed at all. Then I moved onto Black Star, which, after hearing Ziggy Stardust, only sounded to me like some old pop star who's finally ran out of his money trying to bring himself back to the scene
>like some old pop star who's finally ran out of his money trying to bring himself back to the scene
That's what we all thought before January 11 2016. But you do know the real truth now, don't you?
What did he mean by this?
>thought Bowie as a shittier version of Queen
they;re nothing alike, maybe just tha fact that they too had a strong image abouth them, but so did literally everyone in that time. The thing about bowie was that he was complletely aware that the image in the rock music isn't only for being cool, but also might be interesting , that's why he was able to reinvent himself this many times. Musically also he was always changing, collaborating with all the different artists unlike every other 70s rockstar who all stagnated in rockist, guitar wankery state, maybe only other popular rock musician who managed to do this was Frusciante, but lets n't talk about it ;/
>Heroes is my second favorite Bowie album
>relisten it after a huge time gap this summer
>it's annnoying and boring
what the fuck happend
