It really isn't. Rock and roll had already gone underway by the time he had a noticeable influence. There'd be a difference in popular music if Johnson was set to record, not nearly as big of one if Louis Armstrong, WC Handy, Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, The Carter Family or Jimmie Rodgers had never been.

Bach isn't all that influential to music. He perfected baroque when it was already coming to an end. He could be regarded as important through siring the next generation of gallant and classical composers but Monteverdi or Fux is probably a lot more important to the development of music in that era.

Fux was important to Bach, but Bach became the teacher of every composer from his death until now, largely through his scores, but also through his teaching methods, species counterpoint for example.

Fux is great for writing renaissance music, but Bach's music defined the tonal system that we [mostly] use to this day.

Fux didn't write WTC books or art of fugue or 200+ cantatas. In Bach we have examples of most forms of his time, and by studying his scores we can learn how to construct tonal music at the highest level.
