It is his best album and its his most personal outside C&L.

Of course, I live in Michigan. But this album feels super personal to me and I have cried to it before.

its too long, full of filler and the songs are poorly written.

Some songs on it are favourites of mine, but as an album I like Seven Swans best, or Adz. Honourable mention to All Delighted People ep, even though it's not an album I like it a lot.
C&L is god-tier live but I wasn't so into the record.

This is my favorite as well but I think there's some nostalgia tied into it for me that elevates it. Adz and Illinoise are probably "objectively" better because of the creativity of the former and the composition of the latter, but Michigan will always be #1 in my heart.

Seven Swans is underappreciated too, probably his best melodies on that one.
