We can't just get up and start trying to think of stuff unless we get into the zone. Good music has to come from somewhere. What better place to make music than after listening to a very long, contemplative piece of music? Can't you imagine just getting done listening to it, then seeing what kind of things you think of when you pick up your instruments and write?
