These are some of the stuff that I've been listening to a lot lately and recent favourites
Ichiko Aoba's 0%
Paavoharju - Yhä Hämärää
Strong Arm Steady - In Search Of Stoney Jackson
Spectres - Dying
Recent Jams. If you like metal check out the first half of my chart.
Borbetomagus - Barbed Wire Magots
Neurosis - Through Silver In Blood and The Eye Of Every Storm
Kevin Gates - The Luca Brasi Story
Morita Douji - A Boy
Nektar - Journey To The Center Of The Eye
Amon Duul II - Yeti
Did you check out Music For Commercial?
Check out Supersedure by Seijiro Murayama & Eric La Casa too.
Also the "No cover art available" is triggering me. Fix it asap.
Which Branca Symphony should I start with?
Do in the order they were released. 1, 3, 6, 2, 9, 5.
Do The World Upside Down before 9 and 5 that one's also a good release.
Chances are your first one was probs Lesson No1/ The Ascension so it only makes sense to go through in order to see what kind of things he added/removed.
gonna need some recs
how's that fishmans album?
try kinoko teikoku
some godspeed, silver mt. zion
I listened to a few albums a day at that point and did end up getting huge into a lot of different albums
I've listened to all of the albums on there in full, if you're doubting the legitimacy of that at all
Harumi Hosono- Hosono House
Petting Zoo- Good Evening
BATS- Red in Tooth and Claw
love u guys. chart threads are almost always comfy
even if you did listen to that many albums, thats still not enough for your chart to be filled with really different albums. that means that like >20% of the musc you listened to in jul-sep wound up on your all-time favorites, and all of your old-time favorites stopped being favs
Grouper and Boris are real cool. Is Eccojams pretty accessible?
You chart is really cool. What is the bottom left album and the bottom second to the right album?
I never know what to say about your chart. Too patrish for me
Branca is cool, Swans is great, Bowie is classic
Try The Glow Pt. 2 if you haven't. Also check Giles Corey and Nick Drake.
Duster is my favorite Slowcore album. Women is cool, so is Sunny Day Real Estate
Oh yes it's in the last row, my bad
>how's that fishmans album?
it's just wonderful man. Why aren't you listening to it right now? I don't speak jap but you can still feel so much emotion on the live performance. Sato died shortly after it, he was already ill.
I like Kinoko, they're bretty good
You should add the names for your chart
Nice stuff, we've got a lot in common. Discipline is on my top 10 of all time.
Check out Anabelas by Bubu
Listen to anything from this guy's chart >>61721482
A lot of the appeal of the things I listened to before wore off quickly, to be really honest
I guess I could replace a few albums on my chart as well, and maybe take one or two (probably Ultravisitor and Jandek) from my old chart, but my chart changed rapidly because the summer and fall were really the first times in a few years I had to delve into music
Also, at the time I made the chart I was trying to get more specific recommendations for stuff (as I stated before), so I kind of shirked making an "all-time" chart
Yeah, I know it looks odd from the outside, but that's the fact of the matter
I do need to listen to Polysemy. A lot of the producers I know from here know him
>A lot of the appeal of the things I listened to before wore off quickly, to be really honest
"i stopped liking the music i actually liked and pretended to like more obscure albums because i have self-esteem issues and wanted to look cool"
No, not really
GY!BE and most /mu/core lost a lot of appeal for me when I started listening to other stuff, and other times I just burned myself out on other albums. It happens
I've also said that before
Maybe you should have read what I wrote
That chart represented a lot of what I was enjoying at the time and wanted more of, and while some of those albums are still my "major" favorites, I acknowledge I can replace some of them. My taste did change pretty quickly, but it wasn't a complete reversal as those charts might portray
>lost a lot of appeal for me
why did they lose their appeal
>I just burned myself out on other albums
you "burned yourself out" on your all-time favs? really?
then why didn't you make your charts represent your actual taste? maybe you just wanted to look cool?
They lost their appeal from repeated listening, when those moments that used to hit me just didn't do it anymore. Also, some albums just stopped resonating with me, and I couldn't enjoy them nearly as much anymore
I had been listening to those same albums for months and years at that point, it's understandable that they would get old after that amount of time. I still return to them these days but not nearly as often as I did before
Also, I had both trouble making all-time lists (my first two were me really scraping the bottom of the barrel and forgetting a lot of albums as well), and I also didn't want a generic chart, because it's difficult for people to rec when there's just critically acclaimed albums on your chart
I'll revise my chart soon, though
man are you going to post your chart or just tell the tripfag he's a tryhard?
Lame collection of /mu/core
Stop visiting P4K, you mindless drone.
>I just added Mootkips as a friend on RYM
It would be a good idea not to have repeating artists on your chart. That way we can see more of your lack of taste.
So you completely changed your taste in a few months. You either didn't care for the basic /mu/core you had in your previous chart or you're just trying too hard to fit in.
>P4K-core + NIna Simone
Just keep going, someday you'll aquire taste.
This collection of garbage just speaks for itself
Thanks, I needed the 90s indie rock essentials chart
Shitty 90s indeh with a bunch of unrelated albums, placed in attempt to provide credibility to your taste
early sonic youth
too general to rec t b h
If only he posted more, actually discussing stuff instead of only spoonfeeding.
All garbage besides Mechanica Popular and EG
One of the most revolting charts I've ever seen. Congratulations
>too general to rec t b h
You're one to talk
>holy fuck man, you actually listened to that album in the top left too. that is cool. really interesting japanese album. that asylum party album is cool.
I don't see it.
No, I simply didn't bother activating it
Korn and Chopin are one of the better artists in their respective fields
>holy fuck man, you actually listened to that album in the top left too
You and another thousand rym drones, who only listened to it for the avant-cred
he actually does have terrible self-esteem issues as he's said in this skype chat many times
idk who he thinks he's fooling with this horseshit story of his probably created in less than 10 minutes. like why bother even making a chart and having a trip if you don't actually listen to the shit you claim to? trisah or w/e the fuck his name is pulled that shit once and he booked it when people called him out. shit just waste people's time.
I've scrobbled several of the things on my chart and I discuss it to lengths with other people, so your claims really don't have much basis in reality
I've told this "horseshit" story both on private and on the board several times so I honestly don't know what you're on about
this doesn't seem like a very comfy thread to me ;(
lol what? im pretty sure the only albums from the 90s on my chart are Spirit and Emergency and I
also I'm not trying to prove credibility, im trying to get recs based on albums that I like.
why go out of your way to insult people?
Stuff that I've been listening too the most this semester, would love some recs
i only come to /mu/ when i am feeling incredibly uncomfy
have some damn fun
hey guys :) anyone have any good recs? I'm tryin to find weirder shit to listen to...
Care to recommend me something that isn't "disgusting" then, according to you? Since you know everything there is to know about a subjevctive art form.
Nice Charley Patton by the way.
An interesting way to dismiss music. I suppose if you're not listening to Top 40 you're doing it wrong?
It's just the same indie taste everybody on this god-damned board has.
Is this the famous blogchat-core?
I'm sure you'll be able to appreciate this avant-masterpiece :)
Ata Kak - Obaa Sima
read through the thread dude
ya you got into that kind of music so you can stand out and fit in, not because you enjoy it. it's annoying and the reason why chart threads are going downhill.
i remember you going on about this antiwarhol guy on skype once as if you idolize him or something like what more evidence do you need
your case doesn't *just happen* in 2 months. given your confidence issues that you discussed on skype and how lit up you seemed when you were talking about antiwarhol on skype i think you're full of shit
>the remarks on others charts
>1905 in top 4
Nice attempt at doing being a shitty tryhard edgy person I guess, though I find the act to be a bit on the predictable and boring side.
>weirder shit to listen to
take your pick of a Renaldo & Loaf album
Thanks I'll check out BATS. If you haven't for some reason make sure to check out ALL of Gentle Giant's first 7 albums and their Playing The Fool live album.
Also if possible, try to get live shit from krautrock bands I think you would like them.
Can - Peel Sessions
Can - Live Music
Xhol Caravan - Altena 1969
Faust - Abzu
this kinda stuff
lol...man you're just sad. there's very little indie music on my chart. you obviously just took a quick glance at it and tried to insult me based on that.
why intentionally try to antagonize people? are you just that pathetic? or do you have some kind of superiority complex that makes you need to insult others? either way, please stay out of chart threads if you aren't going to post constructive things. even your criticisms aren't valid.
could you reply to this post with the name of this album (pic related) please?
++++mystic stlylez, quickspace
abelian you're a fraud
thanks man! I already love Can but I haven't heard any of their live stuff. I have only heard s/t and Aquiring the Taste from Gentle Giant but i'll definitely give their other albums a listen.
Yann Tiersen - Rue des cascades
Robert Wyatt - Ruth Is Stranger Than Richard
Karen Dalton - In My Own Time
Robbie Basho - Zarthus
You're chart is okay, a little too much Jandek though.
feelsy and relating to tfw no gf comes to mind
felt like watching something soon and figured it would be interesting to see what ppl would come up with
cheers, seen the first one, i'll look into the other two
it's melancholic and it fits ur taste imo
The Work - Slow Crimes
it's still my favorite genre but i'm doing genre charts in an attempt to get better recs
usually people just rec me stuff i've listened to
it's seem like another shitposting trip like TE, though mahmoud awad is a nice touch
Disappears - Irreal
Young Widows - Old Wounds
No Joy - Wait To Pleasure
Original 1979 Gundam Movie Trilogy
Rodrigo No Futuro (really cool punk/metal soundtrack, too)
All the Branca in my chart I posted >>61721201 gonna imply Lesson No 1 and The Ascension is all you know like a lot of people here.
Scion - Arrange And Process Basic Channel Tracks
Leon Vynehall - Music For The Uninvited
Everything ever released by Floating Points
James Holden - Balance 005
James Holden - The Inheritors
thanks, i've only listened to that scion mix, and i found it kind of redundant, all of the remixes were too similar to the original tracks
i'll give the other ones a shot
Have you listened to Hunee's 2015 release? It's one of the better house albums of the last year
something something scruffy but seriously fille qui mousse
not an issue, thanks a bunch
Delve deeper into your artists.
Tom Waits ~ Bone Machine
Can ~ Future Days & Ege Bamyasi
King Crimson ~ Discipline & Larks Tongue
Soft Machine ~ S/T
This Heat ~ S/T
etc etc etc.
not yet, I've listened to their debut and it didn't leave a strong impression, what's oktubre like? I've barely listened to any rock from south america so it should be interesting
needs more gray
try Factums - Alien Native
Yeah I copped Hunch Music. May/may not possibly be seeing him next week on Friday since plan's to hit up New York to visit a cousin.
Well, the remixes are meant to be similar to the original tracks in a particular way. You do realize that Arrange And Process doesn't technically add anything new right it's just them putting at least two Basic Channel songs together for each of the tracks on that album it's like a super version of a mash-up. Otherwise I don't see how each sounds too original to the tracks they remix considering the fact that right when you think it's going exactly like one song each track will then instead act like the structure of the other song allowing for some pretty interesting shenanigans.
watching LILYA 4EEEVEEEER at 1am was a shitty idea
what are some fehl gud movies
also more and more i'm wondering that why everyone on here listens to the same bullshit
even the "cool kids" all have the same taste
can none of you really think for yourselves
maybe i just like SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITYYYYYYYYYYYYY music???
Yeah, I just expected a different take on the classic tracks, like an complete revamp. Still it's impressive how better suited these mixes are for the dancefloor
Neat, it already packs a bigger punch than their debut, i'll check out the rest, thanks
they overrate their material, pretentiously act as if their lyrics are all the best poetry pieces ever created by the mankind, and follow the frontman of the band after the split everywhere even though he's just moneygrabbing like a motherfucker
If you could read the comments on that youtube link. they are all ranting about communism and the revolution and shit and they probably don't know shit about it
CC Not - Geo FI
cv313 - Seconds to forever
Voices from the lake's s/t
Monolake - Hong Kong
what is the album to the left of On Fire That's black-ish with a window?
David Bowie - Scary Monsters (lotsa fripp and imo bowie's best.)
Witch Trials - The Fall
Larks tongues in Aspic
Love, Claire Nightingale
Im drinking some coffee procrastinating homework and listening to Duster. What are you guys doin c: ?
idk what you mean but i'm assuming it's either of these three
(Jesu gud band)
Its the first one thanks! I remember listening to it a long time ago but i forgot what it was.
Thanks! got a link for Long Kin Fillie? I googled it and couldn't find it
This is what I've been digging this last month. I could use more chinese music.
Try Asteroid - II, Stoned Jesus, All Them Witches, Kadavar if you want to go full psych rock revival, My Sleeping Karma, Causa Sui for GOAT instrumentals.
>I could use more chinese music.
