fuck that, it was the meme single to market the album. Cash wasn't even into it, he just did what the producers told him to do. He re-recorded Give My Love to Rose and Streets of Laredo for the same album, much more fitting.

You can interpret ones life with his songs: In Carmelita he sings about youth, love, drugs. Then you have lawyers, guns and money about enjoyment and risk of life. Then you get a playful reminder of mortality in my shit's fucked up. All what's left is to keep him in our hearts.
