What did you think of Blackstar pre-mortem vs. post-mortem?
My opinion has not changed
I need some time with it to find my true opinion
Right now I'm thinking 7, but it may fall
I dunno, I still haven't listened to it
Predeath it was 3/5 but I'm thinking of upping to a 5
Blackstar remains a constant 8/10 for me honestly
should your music ratings be normally distributed?
there was an autism argument about this a week about on tv/
optimally yes, but if you're actively seeking music that you're more probable to like, it's going to be skewed towards the higher end of the spectrum
constant updating of one's rating system for more normalisation is IMO useless
bottom line though: no one cares
are you serious, this account has to be a joke.
I rated it 2 stars two days ago. Listened to it again today, still sounded like shit.
why did you give half a star to Manics' Futurology? It's an alright album with some good ideas (Black Square, Next Jet To Leave Moscow); also, a fucking weird one to have rated out of their discography.
I'm the same age as you and I've heard over 10x the amount of releases you have without actively trying to have more ratings... it's not hard if you've been into music for a while.
If you aren't able to discern godsent musicians like '69 KC from wankers then it's your fault
>implying they had such a limited sphere of influence and did not foresee what was to come in the next 10 years
Try again senpai
Looking for mostly 2016 albums that are out right now. Also getting into sludge (atmospheric too) / doom metal and would love some recs in the genre besides Acid Bath and Electric Wizard.

Explain yourself. ITCOTCK is mostly soft rock with fedora lyrics coupled with a big empty wank that goes nowhere and achieves nothing. It's only popular because of the opening song (along with the fact that it contains no challenging material and is easy listening, a departure from the avant-prog that was showing up around the same time.)
I really can't see your point. Apart from being extremely original in the process of composition, I don't think that something like the improvised sections of Moonchild or 21st could be considered "easy". I'll agree with you that the other parts sound more ear-friendly, but I think that's only a plus since they were showing an incredible melodical sensibility that nowhere else could be found in the rock/blues domain of their time. I don't see how you could consider such great lyrics "fedora", either
Regarding their influence, I think that Fripp alone is one of the greatest minds of 20th century pop music and his guitar playing can be heard even in bands like Sonic Youth or Nirvana or Bauhaus as many others
Well Blackstar just made me have to adjust my rating scale
I like how RYM added the black stars for the ratings, that's touchy.
>good taste in music
is anyone else really indecisive about their ratings? i'll rate something and then be like "shit, that's too low/high" or be like "i should listen to that again" and then i always delete the rating
first of all you're a piece of shit like why would you even make a name like that. second, mocking gender pronouns just makes you look like an even bigger asshole. third, could you be anymore of a tryhard? do you just hit random and rate whatever shows up? you're literally pathetic. bye
has someone ever told you that you worry about the wrong things in this life
why do you hate thinking so much
he's right, attacking the most vulnerable minority possible is pretty pathetic. i'm not endorsing them, but going as far as making an epic satirical name and description is just sad and misanthropic. what are you hoping to achieve? you don't genuinely think deleting your account just to get the name "tranny" was actually funny, right?
act like i care, honestly.
lmao pfft listen to you
Add me, shiwmae
I'm re-rating my stuff slowly.
Don't add me if you give albums low scores out of spite
>What did you think of Blackstar pre-mortem vs. post-mortem?
the same desu
