I'm a bit out of touch with what the kids are into these days. I don't really think there's an actual new trend anymore - "srs pop punk" is still a big thing but I'm pretty sure americanpiecore is making a comeback too - listen to the new Neck Deep for instance (and check out the Slam Dunk lineup here - tons of pop punk of all kinds!!)

A lot of the scene metalcore bands are becoming radio rock or trying their hand at it. BMTH are huge now. Didn't see that coming. ADTR are also really big, but they haven't really changed their style -that much - the new album is great. We Came As Romans tried their hand at it and tbqh they failed miserably. They should go back to their old sound. A band that did stay the same is The Amity Affliction who seem to be doing pretty well for themselves.

Then of course the 90s hardcore sound is pretty trendy for those kids in the know - Expire, Backtrack, Turnstile and shit.

This is besides the point though. I wish the trancecore/crabcore sound would come back but upping the trance elements like Fail Emotions do. They seem to be the only band that's continuing the trend in an innovative way, and they're pretty big with the Japanese for some reason.

Actually I think the Japanese are still doing trancecore - look up Artema and Crossfaith.
