What are some other bands like AnCo?
Listen to Mercury Rev's first two albums and thank me later family
>tfw no other band quite gets the anco vibe
I thinks Feels and Sung Tongs could have been released by the elephant six, since they share such similiar influences
MGMT's last two albums too
flaming lips
mercury rev
but they are only "similar", I don't think theres a band thats actually like anco
Broadcast, Stereolab, Exuma, the list goes on
None

NONE of them has a made a track close to any songs written by AnCo.
Try Deastro, Yeasayer
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Born Ruffians

>Yeasayer

YAWN is the closest

Also Dan Deacon but he's not that similar. Still kinda in the same world
Aphex Twin, King Crimson... the list goes on.
>>61602218
I only like their 1st album desu
>>61602225
Goddammit! Leak it already, Deak.
>>61602264
King Crimson is nothing like Animal Collective.
Never seen them discussed on /mu/ but here you go
theres this one band called new house that are like an anco ripoff but they're pretty good
Depending on what era you're trying to recreate, Black Dice sounds a lot like early AnCo, I can't think of anything that resembles their folk period, and any indie pop after 2009 tries really hard to be MPP

LEAK IT DEAK
For late AnCo try Dan Deacon, Akron/Family, Candy Claws
For Feels era AnCo try DVA, Mukimukimanmansu (closest to weird Avey vocals imo), Josephine Foster
For weird Spirit stuff definitely Super Furry Animals, The Morning Paper, maybe Bran Van 3000 idk
At the end of the day, there isn't much like AnCo. Look deeper into their solo output and cherish their studio stuff because it's really unique
