This chart is pretty fuckin cool. throbbing gristle, coil,.christian death, charles mingus, the rita, swans, black flag, jordaan mason. This is music that craves more out of life. I can dig it. Yeah this is alright but there's too much emo here. don't really enjoy emo and I don't know why people like it so much. Emo for me isn't necessarily about the lyrical content, it's just that I like the music. Most bands that are labelled as emo belong just as much to another style of music, whether it's hardcore punk, powerviolence, post-hardcore or black metal or yeah you get it
You should probably dive a bit deeper into emo, because there are a huge amount of underground bands from the 90's that really swing close to powerviolence and black metal.

First of all, there's *never* too much noise. Second, I do have and listen to a wide variety of stuff, but believe it or not, noise can be pretty soothing. Great to listen to while reading or programming.
You may like some of the other groups - Vieo is modern classical, frontierer is thrashy stuff (free on bandcamp!), and Matana is modern jazz with spoken word. Check them out; you won't regret it.
