Where is the source of this photo? It's exactly what I picture in my head when I listen to Vaporwave.
Vaporwave turned out to be one of my favorite genres since I ran into it two years ago, what vaporwave artists are good now?
I imagine a lot of innovation has happened since then
The best thing about vaporwave is that it has introduced me to a whole world of really cool (now that I think of it) music from the 80s-90s that I never thought I 'd listen to and enjoy this much. Think R&B, urban soul, synth funk, TV shows and the weather channel music.
So I guess you know this feel anon.
Besides the obvious Chuck Person and New Dreams Ltd. this release is what sums it up and best speaks of what I had in mind.
(Not his most up to date work but it just somehow stands out for me.)
that macross 82 99 bandcamp link seems to be him charging people $1 to listen to him play old japanese funk songs
i'm going to contact dmca i recognize 6 of the samples so far will look up the rest later to send the companies associated with the labels of the sampled tracks to see if they mind him selling this
please link more bandcamps of people sellings slowed down 80s music i want to report them
>Vaporwave is really for a broad minded audience.
First, macross isn't actual vaporwave, I don't quite get anyone who keeps shitposting about it and spam every vw thread with this shit, those are probably some stupid kids from leddit.
Second, I personally find the idea of charging anyone to pay any amount for it disgusting and fundamentally inconsistent with the genre's "canons" (I know this sounds silly but isn't it all about "internet is all about freedom" stuff?) This is just repulsive as it gets.
same for dream catalogue shilling
look at every vaporwave thread then press ctrl+f catalogue you'll see it mentioned alway and some respones good
wow amazing nice cool
op is shill
i be tyou think dream catloague is real vaporawve
At least they offer an alternative of free downloads. And there are some good releases that sort of give some prospects and hopes for the genre's future. Such is the label owner (HK express), that guy has talent.
vaporwave people would think that's cool like this
he would say yea i will make a sandwich to dentist office music very cool
man that'sa dope song though the bass is good playing in the back who is the artist i hope you don't tell me someone vaporwave guy who is the actual producer that makes the song good isn't funny how you can future funk a track and people ar elike wow vapowave artist you're good producer nigga you ddin't prodcuce nuting
i would mrap over a vapor track though
So shouldn't this showcase the irony of the situation? Basically hip-hop is about sampling and chopping old funk stuff and rapping over it? Why would't you treat vaporwave the same way as instrumental hip-hop then.
