i think a lot more quid pro quo goes on during awards season in the music industry, with people putting in nominations and voting for people just because they worked with them and not because they actually sat down with the work

3) the recording academy is primarily old white guys, so they're tastes and what they're aware of heavily influences what wins.........just like with the academy wards.

music and film are different art forms.

Bad Believer is shitty but it comes from the self titled sessions and it was specifically left off the actual album. Also, Sparrow and Pieta came out of those sessions as well and both of those songs were pretty damn great. It's one thing to be more of a fan of her earlier work but it's insane to expect her to completely change her sound because she didn't win a Grammy. I'm expecting that her Brian Eno collab will sound unlike anything she's done thus far, and it'll probably end up being better than the self titled. Personally, I'm hoping she explores the noise rock type sound of Grot more, but I enjoy pretty much everything she's done so I don't really care too much.
