This album reminds me of having an anxiety attack

How do people genuinely sit around and listen to this stuff?
>The Off Site, a venue in Tokyo, is home to the Onkyo music movement, which is characterized by improvisation, minimalism, and "quiet noise".[3] Onkyo improvisation, "explores the fine-grained textural details of acoustic and electronic sound".[1]
I picture a room full of fedoras
>>
Deep down most of us just like catchy rock/pop songs with a bit of edge

>How do people genuinely sit around and listen to this stuff?
It was on p4k.
>>
>>53331278
There's not much different between sitting down in a field and listening to Onkyo, vs sitting down in a rainforest and listening to nature.
>>
>>53331278
vid very related

>>
>>53331278
name one genre that wouldnt include a room full of fedoras
>>
>>53331492
>when he lifts the running turntables up and continuously slams them against the table
holy fuck hahahahahah
>>

>I picture a room full of fedoras
>>
>>53331492
what the fuck is he doing with that cymbal
>>
>>53331278
>I picture a room full of fedoras
It's mostly just full of mid to late 20s hipsters
>>
>>53331582
Playing it.
>>
>>53331492

Aaaah why does Yoshihide wears that hat on this video ? Now retards on 4chan thinks it's fedoracore, what a shame...

And actually I can confirm that the people who went to Off Site (it's closed now... sadly) are the opposite of the fedoras people you tend to love so much. Most people there were musicians or simply huge music listeners, mostly from 30 years old to 60.
Of course, sometimes some people were noisy because they couldn't like the music, but in most of the performances I went to, the public was really great and I had interesting discussions before or after. You could also easily talk to the performers. Absolutely no fedora tipping there.

>>53331307
lol i think about this a lot
it is very true
>>
>>53331492
I actually like this
>>
>>53331278
i'm not exactly a fan. but i can see the appeal. contrary to what you might expect, it sounds very organic. like someone before me said, it's not much different from nature sounds. i can be relaxing when you don't feel like listening to actual music.

>>53331492
This is what we've strayed away from. This is what happens when we disregard traditional values of what good means. We shunned classical to make this. No.
>>
>>53331761
What's the problem with this ? It's great !
>>
>>53331761
>We shunned classical to make this
ayy lmao
Typical wrong generation argument.
>>
>>53331715
There's lots of great onkyo (Pro-tip: Japanese/Norwegian collabs are generally of a much higher standard)

Classical music disregarded "traditional values" all the time, and still does.
Thats what art does to evolve, you would know that if you actually knew shit, you pretentious faggot.
>>
>>53331825
Yeah, I know him, also I love his jazz shit, I just said that because it felt like it was posted as a joke.
Thanks for the recs anyway!
>>
>>53331825
these are not onkyo... are you kidding me. they're all more or less just electroacoustic pieces
>>
>>53331895
There is such significant overlap that I'm comfortable posting this.

It's not like >>53331492 is much more than a noise piece.

>>
>>53332053
The next time Uniqlo has a sale on fedoras I assume
>>
>>53331492

>>
onkyo is wonderful and otomo yoshihide is a great artist with a great legacy
>>
>>53331278
>fedora
Top meme, are you from le reddits too?
>>
>>53331492
That bow almost looked disrespectful.

Then again I really wasn't ready.
>>
>>53331825
Nice picks, I own all 3 of those, last 2 on vinyl and Egrets on cd.
>>
>>53336620
It just makes sense that the two greatest improvised music nations work so perfectly together.
>>
>>53331492
sounds like high pitched sunn o))) or something
>>
>>53331641
Why do you care what retarded 4channers and redditors think though? The whole fedora meme is obnoxious, I'd much rather be friends with a person who wears a hat then some pathetic loser who makes fun of people for wearing a hat based on some reddit/4chan memes.
>>
ITT: The underage crowd reacts to a genre far and away from their coveted white-guilt ridden hip-hip, /mu/core and folk punk

Christ almighty, delete this thread and forget it ever existed
>>
>>53336704
>why do you care
>the whole fedora meme is obnoxious
you answered your own question
>>
>>53331278
That album is legitimately a masterpiece, sorry it doesn't sound like the rest of the shitty music you listen to.
>>
>>53336715
Yep.
>>
>>53336698
Are you legitimately tone deaf?
