i've played it a couple times, but i haven't really listened to it closely. it's definitely not swing/bop oriented. not completely extemporaneous, but it's close to free/improvised music.
interesting record for JD to put out at this point in his career

I never liked him very much, though I respect what he does. He just feels too cold for me. Zero swing. This album is still good, but not my cup of tea. Maybe I'll keep trying since I was intrigued by its sparseness and the ambience of the album's sound
