Also good for dream pop, blackgaze, and noise pop.

What's the most creative shoegaze band out right now?
The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Methodrone
>Shoegaze, Neo-Psychedelia, Psychedelic Rock,
What shoegaze albums have more emphasis on drones? I know that The Goslings and Have a Nice Life and Nadja and The Angelic Process have a lot of these but they're all very dark and brooding, which I like, but I'm looking for some dreamier stuff.
The only band that comes to mind is lovesliescrushing, and I'm just assuming there's most bands out there like that. I'm looking really sugary sweet shoegaze that also a a big emphasis on repetition. So if anyone has that, that would be cool.
Ceremony - Birds
>Shoegaze, Noise Pop, Lo-Fi,
Nadja - Queller
le brazilian shoegaze
their only shoegaze album is A Storm in Heaven, but I think their best release is their self-titled EP.
I'd say this would fall under that category, although most wouldn't consider Yellow Swans a shoegaze band.
I also just remembered this exists. Still, someone should reply.
never heard this before, but they've got a nice sound. Don't really like it overall though, not a lot of variance.
Nice catch. That's definitely her most shoegaze inspired album and also my favorite of hers but not shoegazy enough for this chart. I'll remove it and post a new one the next thread. Meanwhile, any votes for how I'll fill it? I have plenty of shoegaze I like, but to be on the chart it has to be somewhat popular and/or influential. Any ideas?
Have you tried the guitarist's other projects?
I think Astrobrite - Crush should go there. I know it isn't super well known or hugely influential, but it is a great album that blends the dreamy, more ambient style like loveliescrushing with MBVs pop-y sound.
Yeah. Check this out too, not sure if this is what you're going for and it's only 4 songs and not strictly shoegaze but it's pretty great. Also GOAT cover.
already up there
sold! to the man with the obvious missed album. Thanks, swore I had that on there.
do you have any more charts?
I love that chart you made but.
I love the layout on this one but it's not shoegaze.
that album isn't scott cortez, btw just something random.
Also no one told me Highspire was on there twice so I added grandeur of hair and Clams - CLAMS but if someone has something I missed feel free to let me know, I've already changed about 4 albums based on suggestions here so the more the better.
That chart was made by someone with even less of a life than me. Very nice. There are a couple of good charts in the wiki for dream pop and shoegaze, there's one in particular with a bunch of different branches you should definitely check out, don't have the energy to link it right now, haha.
In regards to shoegaze? Not really... one I haven't updated in months really that used to be my favorite list, it's changed. I have a chart of my favorite albums atm but that's just a slew of different genres. I'm not really that good at making charts i just throw albums up on topsters.
hell yeah on Clams, and personally I'd replace 3 out change with OOkeah (also by supercar) - feel the sound on that LP is much closer to shoegaze overal than that of 3 out (although I enjoy 3 out more)
I was torn. In the end I went with the one that showed up on topsters so I didn't have to find the album cover elsewhere and have the system upload it. I also think 3 Out Change is a slightly better place to start with Supercar even though I'm not a huge Supercar fan.
I got bored and made a pretty basic and somewhat shitty slowchart.
this is the attitude i wish we didn't have
you're implying i'm lazy because i didn't reverse image search, and i'm saying the person i replied to was lazy for not taking two seconds to include band/album name. we're all lazy fucks
japanese shoegaze is best shoegaze
Slowdive like Slints facebook page. Thought that was pretty cool.
I'm really excited for February. It's gonna be a great month.
It's music to zone out to rather than to actively sit through. Just put it on loudly and go read something. Whenever this album needs your attention, it'll grab it for you, don't worry.
Have you listened to the Verve's self-titled EP?
Starflyer 59 - Silver
>Shoegaze, Indie Rock
Best Verve songs?
Nick McCabe is a really underrated guitarist.
Cocteau is dream pop more than it is shoegaze, it's why I didn't put Beach House on there. Kairon; IRSE! is decent but I'm waiting to see if they just become more than the flavor of the month and gain a following before I add them to the chart. Pastel Blue is a new one for me but they have under 1000 listeners on last.fm. That said they're good, so if you happen to have a link to that album I'd really appreciate it.
I've got them on there, just a different album.
S/t and distance are the only ones I really liked.
Outside of /mu/ and rym it's not well known. 3000 last.fm listeners? Nah, it's nothing more important than anything else on that chart. If they legitimately gain popularity I'll think about adding it.
The Echolarks - Eloquence
>Shoegaze, Dream Pop, Power Pop
