are there any examples of modern polyphonic music? The ancient stuff from 1500's gives me boners. I've found it extremely difficult to find modern stuff. Makes me think people are too lazy nowadays for that type of music
Breakbeat, usually characterized by the use of a non-straightened 4/4 drum pattern (as opposed to the steady beat of house, techno and trance). These rhythms may be characterized by their intensive use of syncopation and polyrhythms.
Many Serialists went for polyphonic styles.
If you mean a capella choral music in the style of late medieval and renaissance times, try Britten or maybe Tavener
Depends what you mean by polyphonic, there are plenty songs with two melodies going on at the same time like For No One by The Beatles or Flashlight by The Front Bottoms, but really really complex polyphony is not something I hear often. I think it's more challenging, both for the composer and the listener, and so fell out of favour given that less is often more in music anyway
