We know so little about his mother, his brother, and his sexual orientation except what's made clear in his music.

Something akin to The Devil and Daniel Johnston could be great. It would be wonderful to learn to what degree his narrative songs are autobiographical, and see how his music and emotional life intersected.

In 2011 a documentary was filmed and finished, dealing with a car trip from New York to Michigan.

It was just Marzuki, Sufjan, a camera man, and their father in the car, talking about life.

Despite being finished and intended for art house release, it was never shown to any audience.
