This took me ages, I hope you appreciate the 15 mins
2112 is a funny old album
2112 would be an 8/10 if it was an EP with just 2112 on it, but the second half really lets it down IMO
And 2112 (the track) is nowhere near as good as later "long songs" like Hemispheres
I'd put Permanent Waves and Grace Under Pressure higher, but other than that, pretty good. A Farewell To Kings through Moving Pictures is such a fucking good win streak.
It has Creep which has done nothing to change anything in pop culture.
It's a song people know. That's it.
Regardless, I don't think there should be a debate about why Pablo Honey isn't on a chart.
it has a really chill sort of hip-hoppy groove to it. it actually sounds like it could have been made this year when it's played at that speed. he designed it so that it could be played either fast or slow, and the slow one is sort of a hidden album exclusive to vinyl.
You're pretty much right. The 2112 title track kicks ass, but it's not to the level that they achieved in the next two albums. I like most of the songs off the second side, though. Tears fucking sucks, though.
are the more recent albums good, I have not tried them yet/
I understand if you disagree
i dont get why people dont like s/t. Its not much lyrically for the most part but its a great neo-psych listening experience. It just sounds really good to me and I appreciate it for that.
His newest album "Sauna" isn't out yet, but I heard it live and it's an 8/10
>In Rainbows isn't God Tier
I'd swap Ex with TMS and put NOTM higher.
>Flume by Flume
>Untrue by Burial
>Entroducing.... by Dj Shadow
>Thinking In Textures by Chet Faker
this picture is too big, but whatever.
Sorry for messing up the album order and having different sizes. I'm too lazy right now.
Does anyone have a version of the scale where they have numbers?
Hey, I'm working on one of those!
>every album would be the god tier one except nature unveiled and maby dogs blood
But this is one of the worst things I've ever heard.
Fun fact: Gira himself is embarrassed about White Light because of how much reverb it uses
Personally I think it's a fantastic album, and he does as well really like the songs on it but has gone on record to say all the reverb ruined it.
pretty accurate for me. ive gotta listen to how to leave town a little more. i dont know how to make these charts so ill just use numbers
starving while living 7
my back is killing me baby 8
twin fantasy 10
nervous young man 9
how to leave town 5 or maybe 6
so pretty similar id just rate starving while living and how to leave town 1 or so higher
I think 1000 Hurts is great, not on the same level as Albini's previous stuff but great. I really love The Rude Gesture 7' from Shellac.. Billiard Player Song is the best thing that band ever did... Dude, Incredible is nice because, well... It just came out and is no bullshit rock (which the world needs)...
Also WE'RE RIDING BIKES
>thinking children of god is god tier
>thinking filth is a 5/10
too lazy to update but bump down WT to a 5 and YZ to a 7
