How is Weighing Souls With Sands even remotely similar to traditional Post-Rock?
Also there should be a category for "Drone Rock" or "Something that isn't heavy" with Pentastar, TBMHITLS, Feedbacker, etc.
This chart doesn't get posted enough, it's really useful for anyone wanting to get into Nick Cave. Although I wish it included Nocturama and albums from his other bands.
>no Roy Montgomery
>no Stars of the Lid
>no Natural Snow Buildings
>no Robert Rich
>no Nurse With Wound
>no Acid Mothers Temple
>no Yellow Swans
>no Hash Jar Tempo
>no Absolute go
I seriously hope you didn't make this OP
no it was a long image and each genre a had like a small paragraph about the genre like their special qualities (I think history) and the recommended albums were from left to right. (I think it might have been red or or it varied in colors depending on the genre its talking about.
If it helps I remember it mentioned Matando Güeros by Brujeria (pic related) and a genre involving a mix of hip hop and metal or some shit. I really regret not saving that chart.
oh shit i'm fucking stupid its there.
heres the chart if you guys want it
it missing third stream and post bop
all the late 50's early 60's albums fit better in other catagories (KoB in Modal Jazz Sax colossos in Hardbop) Fletch henderson belons with swing and big band especially since he wrote a majority of benny goodmans charts during goodmans tenure on "lets dance"
Made this one for Motorpsycho, even though I havent met many fellow /mu/tants who listen to them. Be sure to check them out if you're into indie/prog/psychedelic rock.
Read up on jazz history. I think its the best way to get into the music. understanding the context of the music is really important. I took a class in college on jazz history so i can't do much on book recs ask in the next jazz general that pops up
also just listening jazz radio will help you start get used to listening to jazz.
This came out of a really good thread a few months back
>no Mount Eerie
>no A Grand Don't Come For Free
u wot m8?
This has served me well so far.
I've gone in this order:
It's a really well made chart
i like drone, but i don't like those guitar sounds Earth uses.
am i fucked?
i kind of like the drone boris does though, just not a fan of those overly "metal" guitars
shit like feedbacker, and farewell on pink is amazing to me.
