Do you like metal?
>>
>>49855761
have you tried listening to actual folk or punk? you obviously have a thing for it since you like both neofolk and folk punk.

Vashti Bunyan - Just Another Diamond Day
Van Morrison - Astral Weeks
Nick Drake - Pink Moon
anything from Lead Belly

give those a go if you haven't
>>
>>49855312
don't listen to that kind of music but recommend first albums of the Red Hot Chili Peppers (uplift mofo party plan, mothers milk)
>>
>>49855312
>asher roth

Why not?

>>49855876

Pabst & Jazz was a great mixtape, and RetroHash was a pretty good album, what do you have against him?
>>
>>49855913
Any specific metal artists that you enjoy?
>>
>>49855876
>Van Morrison - Astral Weeks

I really like this so far

>>49855983

I think they're great :^)
>>
>>49855312

don't rely on /mu/ exclusively for recs. your chart makes this so obvious.
>>
>>49856051
Astral Weeks is one of few albums that hits me as nearly perfect. It's a man with some kind of divine inspiration/story/whatever and he just lays it all out

Title track is without doubt perfection

oh and if you like Rage Against the Machine and SOAD, you should check out At the Drive In - Relationship of Command and Primus - Sailing the Seas of Cheese
>>
>>49856121

This is my first day on /mu/ buddy

>>49856123
Yeah will do, I'll just follow the artists that are close to the artists I like on w.cd
>>

Blue Album by Baroness
Crack the Skye by Mastodon

why not just go straight to the source and suggest some Black Sabbath or Melvins?
>>
>>49856249
Because I've never listened to them before.

Need more Folk Punk! Defiance, Ohio, Against me! Mischief Brew, Ghost Mice, Days n' Daze
>>
>>49856370
I'm more of a hip hop head, because I'm more comfortable speaking about hip hop. So, to get into metal I went straight to bandcamp and last.fm to see what I wanted to listen to. In the metal world, I'm not entirely sure who is underground and who is mainstream.

>Ghost Mice

Which Ghost Mice album do you recommend?
>>
hey we listen to pretty similar music.

have you listened to the rest of milo's stuff? i really really like him and i enjoy all of it. if oyu havent' give it a strong go.

also sonically i think you would like Burial's Untrue

nice chart
>>
>>49856486
>have you listened to the rest of milo's stuff?

yeah I have, including his scallops hotel/nom de rap

thanks for the recommendation
>>
>>49856466
The AJJ/Ghost Mice split is 10/10 but my favorite Ghost Mice album would have to be The Debt of the Dead or All We Got It Each Other
>>
>>49856431
well then i'm doing you a large favor

Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Melvins - either Houdini or Stoner Witch

Black Sabbath is basically the band that gave birth to metal as we know it, but they particularly influenced doom, stoner, and even a teeny bit of drone metal. They're one of the most acclaimed and well-known bands of metal

Melvins are a bit more weird and less well-known. They took Sabbath and have made it punky, even sludgier, and even dronier since the mid 80s. As such they helped spawn grunge, drone metal, and bands like Baroness and Mastodon pretty much owe a lot of what they do to Melvins
