>Twinkly emo, party punk, math rock, pizza
>Emo punk, twinkle
This is really fun. I like it.
New EP up.
>electronic, ambient, experimental, droney soundscapes, noisy
Alternating long and short songs. Emphasis on texture and immersion.
>psych folk, indie folk, drone, field recordings
>Experimental progressive rock, math rock
>shoegaze, experimental rock, atmospheric rock, ambient, some guy is now calling it oceangrunge whatever that means
Any feedback is appreciated. Facebook likes are also appreciated.
I'll be listening to the ones posted in this thread and I'll try to tell you guys if I like them.
I made this album in 3 days. It's really loud
Hey guys, I have two tracks from an upcoming EP I'd appreciate if you'd listen to, one of them I don't think has been shared yet
>experimental folk, noise folk, sorta emoish, i don't know please help me think of a genre
Also, I have this idea to press this upcoming EP on 7" records, would anyone here buy that if it ended up happening?
>atmospheric/minimalist folk, psych folk
Thanks a ton for listening and downloading
>math rock, twinkle emo, 10/10 falsetto
This is my friend's band, saw them play for the first time tonight and it was amazing.
>ambient, improvisational, free-noise, deep-space soundscape. bedroom
This is my shite noise project. Been meaning to record some more but ive really been lacking proper equipment and motivation
>lo-fi, shoegaze, garage rock, pop-punk, hints of blackgaze and post-rock
I like the aesthetic of the sea and loneliness that seems to go with oceangrunge, as well as the whole "atmospheric and noisy" facet, so I guess. I just don't want for people to think that I'm one of the "ironic" vaporwave guys, because I actually take my music pretty seriously and don't want to be seen as a trend-based project like them.
So to answer your question i don't really care. I've gotten a lot of listeners from the oceangrunge subreddit, so I can't complain. People looking for oceangrunge might be scared off when i release my next two EPs, because they have a pretty different vibe than this one.
>baroque/twee pop, folk punk
hey you guys are really cool. you put out a split with Unraveler right?
>pop, lofi, rock, surf
>cloud beats, downtempo, chillwave
A couple more favorites of mine:
>Chillwave, great production
>Nujabes style beats, eastern influence, groovy as hell
I'm agreeing with the consensus that this is some goat tier post-genre music, but the production lacks high end. It sounds like there's a lp filter on it, which makes it sound a little flat. Consider addin some high end to it
>Tweens and Feline Feelings are decent tracks
I was thinking of trying to play some live shows, tried to figure out how'd I would do that, got frustrated, and gave up.
Yeah. For whatever reason it sounded nice and sharp when I was working with it in Audacity, but on BC and iTunes it sounds muddy.
I've tried mixing the treble a bit higher but it ends up sounding crowded and loud.
Once I finish my next EPs I'll most likely just re-record it from scratch. There are a lot of little things that bug me abut it.
I know there's a lot of good vaporwave, but you have to wade through a ton of image-based half-assed ones to get to it.
For every Vektroid, there are hundreds of Windows 98/Fiji water/statue/Japanese text ones that you can tell took half an hour to throw together.
you did all that shit on audacity? That's really impressive. Although, sometimes I wonder if daws stifle creativity.
so are the drums recorded or midi? drum machine? really curious
Also did you record with a mic or straight into an audio interface?
Last question: Are the ambient noises physical synthesizers, or did you just put effects on guitar recordings? I'm assuming audacity doesn't have any synthesizer plugins, although I hear it has midi functionality these days. not really sure.
>psychedelic, electronic, experimental
Also check out a brand new track off of my upcoming full length. Let me know what you guys think: https://soundcloud.com/maantis/waking-up-is-harder-without-you
The drums are the free Hydrogen drum machine software. I ran them through a guitar amp then recorded that, to give them a kind of industrial vibe. After that I put reverb on the through-the-amp recording of the drum track.
I used a Shure SM57 and Blue Icicle interface for the actual recording.
As for the ambience, it's just volume swells and string scratches that I put obscene amounts of reverb on to turn them into atmospheric sounds.
So the only real instrument involved is a guitar.
all in all it's a little amatuer and unrefined, but I truly think you have the start of something really cool, and it's even more impressive that you were able to do all that with such humble soft/hardware
keep it up mane
I've experimented with new recording techniques by making black metal songs, and I've found some neat tricks that I'm going to use for my future stuff. I certainly want to get away from the muddy sound that this one kind of had, that's been the #1 complaint so far.
DIY ethos is good; DIY production, not so much.
Pretty trap the beauty so strong and hard.
This is my homie's song off his new mixtape, its hard.
>lo-fi dark dream pop/folk
>one my best projects imo
>CDs available, going to do a 5 cassette run of this album on side a and my other album charts/memories on side b, will be up soon. doing this just to test the waters as far as cassettes go, really.
I love this so much dude.
Oh hey! I love Panucci's Pizza! I was actually gonna play a show with you guys at KFN back in May but then it kind of fell apart. :/ Perhaps some other day.
>folk, lofi, pop, etc.
We got written up in an article about Michael Cera on a Chilean music website lol
We're always on the lookout for music, shoot an email w/ a link to yr bandcamp to firstname.lastname@example.org
>noise folk, russian psychedelia

extreme hellbastards only
>pinball concept beattape
Recorded a 6 song Folk Punk Album in an hour tonight whilst fucked up on weed and acid. It's all indie folk
Hey dude, going great right now, going to FYF tomorrow which I'm stoked for. Doing an ambient project with another /mu/tant that is going oddly well, i think a lot about my sound is gonna get interesting and mature really really soon which i'm looking forward to for sure.
Thanks man, glad it came across like that.
Oh shit, you're from peterborough? if you ever head out west (GTA), come play a show in Oakville, we have a small scene here.
cool as fuck, reminds me a bit of Ceremony pre-indejanglesurfpop, dopeness.
> analog electro-psych concept album

Sorry if it's terrible but this was a fun side project for me.
Enjoyed the energy of this, guitar work was good.
I've listened to this before in these threads and I really dig it nice job
This was awesome, had me really interested
Some fantastic electronics, good originality loved the glitchiness thrown in
Listening to this now and so far really enjoying it, don't usually like lo-fi but that adds so much to this album

>electronic, ambient, dance, noise, rock
>jazz/shoegaze influenced post-rock
>tfw I was the one who chose the names for Throw Away Your Orgy and Steel Woman on a thread a while back
The sound you had on the Deficit EP was a little harsh for my taste but I'm really liking the track you posted a link to there "Waking Up is Harder Without you"
Woah, this is actually really good. And I totally have to agree with >>49288056 on the opener
>Electronics and guitars
Planning on dropping an EP soon!
I would leave some feedback but I'm just bout to head to bed. If this thread is still up and running when I wake up I'll leave some feedback, happy travels!
thanks! yeah, Deficit was tracks left over from The Proletariat that didn't feel like they belonged.
with "Waking Up With Hard You" i was trying something different, with a more 'band-like' feel. thanks for listening!
>Thrashy guitar pop demo
This is just a bedroom demo, we're saving to do a full studio album with a professional engineer! ^^
>field recordings,experimental rock
Alright, how's this
It's the same bandwagon shoegaze I hear every fucking day on /mu/, there's nothing new about it and you aren't being poignant with your execution
Orphan School - Secret Admirer
>freak folk with some really creepy low throat singing, some of the best in the genre I've heard.
If anyone knows of anything like this, please give me some recs. I've loved this and this guy's discography is way too short.
>HEY now its a party!
