Gary Higgins - Red Hash (1973)
>Contemporary Folk, Singer/Songwriter, Psych Freak Folk
A little-known masterpiece of hazy hippie burnout music with some exceptional songwriting. The arrangements are holistic and complementary, and everybody chips in a nice performance. If you're into Tim Buckley and Nick Drake, you should check this out.

To add a bit more context. Was recorded shortly before Higgins went to jail (drug charges). Was private press and his only release. Was eventually reissued by Ben from Six Organs of Admittance. He also located Higgins and had him record a new album.

Red Hash is a great album.
the smiths comparisons are valid, especially on that album. and that isn't a bad thing.

Damon - Song of a Gypsy (1969)
>Psychedelic Folk, Psych Rock
Stoned, laid-back type vocals over echoed fuzz-tone guitar and sitar, the album just oozes lysergia. It has some wicked drum breaks and heavy driving bass with screeching keys. Much the same as most psych records of this era.

Robbie Basho - Zarthus (1974)
>American Primitivism, Avant-Folk, Psychedelic Folk
Robbie Basho, in preparation for the apocalypse soon to befall our species (it'll happen), attempts to summarize a few thousand years of human musical expression in 45 minutes. The piano, the guitar, the words, the singing: otherworldly, ingenious work of art. There's a pure cosmic-communion feeling which a great many artists have striven and strive for is perfected here.

Add N to (X) - Add Insult to Injury (2000)
>Electroclash, Electronic, Experimental
Belligerently electronic, coolly abrasive. the best one they've made in regards of the warmth and the depth they bring here to their weird textures. This is a far more accomplished offering than Add N To X's previous "Avant Hard" album. From the onset, this trio of antique synth and organic drum dabblers builds insistent grooves with a pleasantly cheesy edge. There's a well-balanced focus on both the rhythmic gains that have been made in the techno arena over the last few years and the undeniable cuteness of synth-pop tunes from several decades ago. They're also not afraid to try their hand at the vocoder, an instrument which has become all to fashionable of late.
Richard Cheese - Lounge Against the Machine (2000)
>Lounge, Comedy, Satire
The band’s name is a play on that of rock band Rage Against the Machine, and Cheese’s pseudonym is a reference to smegma. The band specializes in playing jazz and lounge covers of popular rock and rap tunes from the last thirty years, particularly those with offensive lyrical content
Idk if this is a request thread too, but does anybody have either the antlers - uprooted in 320 or the love battery discography in 320?

Gregory Isaacs - Cool Ruler (1978)
>Roots Reggae, Lover's Rock
"The Al Green of reggae" who has classics like Night Nurse and Stranger in Town has another reggae classic under his belt with Cool Ruler. Isaacs pours the vocal honey over ten steadily simmering roots tracks, and lays bare his soul for all to see. And, in the grand tradition, there's always room amid the conscious lyricism for a few slow-dance moments.
does anyone have some jackie-o motherfucker they'd be willing to share?

Kayo Dot - Hubardo
>2013-core, avant-black metal, lots of horns
People really seem to like this album but it was one of their weakest in my opinion (that's not to say that I dislike it)

Change - The Glow of Love (1980)
>Disco, Funk
"This group was masterminded by Italian music maestros Jacques Fred Petrus and Mauro Malavasi. Italo disco synths, catchy, yet oh so funky bass lines, and top notch vocals from Jocelyn Brown and Luther Vandross dominate here. Its songs frequently feature predominantly female gang vocals, like Chic's. The best-known songs are even a Chic length, spanning six minutes or so. Flawless disco album.
Labradford - Mi media naranja

This is probably a long shot but does anyone have a digital copy of Ass Ponys' cover of the Afghan Whigs' "You My Flower"? It was part of a split single where the two bands covered each other. The Whigs' version of "Mr. Superlove" is readily available since they re-released it on the What Jail is Like EP, but I can't find the Ass Pony's part anywhere.

Fred Lane - From the One that Cut You(1983) and Car Radio Jerome (1986)
>Comedy, Big Band/Swing, Jazz, Rock n Roll, Experimental, I Don't Even
This guy. The best description I've heard is that he's like Frank Sinatra if he was a drug dealer. He's a dude from the late 70's early 80's University of Alabama Avant-garde art and music scene. He played around town and put out these 2 records and then faded into obscurity (he makes folk art now under his real name Tim Reed). His music is out there, pulling from a lot of genres with some demented lyrics and unorthodox instrumentation. Even if it's not enjoyed it's something worth experiencing.

Elmore James - The Chronological Classics Blues & Rhythm Series: Elmore James 1951 - 1953 (2004)
>Chicago Blues, Rock 'n' Roll, Compilation
The son of sharecroppers, James grew up and learned to play the guitar and had hits like "Rollin' & Tumblin'," "The Sky Is Crying" and "It Hurts Me Too." He had a brilliant slide guitar sound, raw and desperate, it's perfect for letting loose the air guitar player in you.

Probably not the most relevant title - this is far too mellow for an escape from hell, unless of course you've got a first class ticket on Rasta Airlines. Some infectious, intoxicating riddims can be found throughout. Why is dub the objectively funnest genre?

Hi, I've only listened to Dragging a Dead Deer. Where would you suggest I go from there?
Thanks a lot m8
The Tried 7", the Visitor EP, and the splits with City Center and Pumice, maybe?
Not him, but check out A I A: Alien Observer if you liked the more ambient side of Dragging a Dead Deer's sound, and check out The Man Who Died in His Boat if you liked the more Folk elements.

I have the last Cyclamen album but if you have anything else that would be great.

I don't have enough Kreator.

I don't have the Obscura cover album.

Don't have all the Primus stuff.
