I really like Fluttershy's new outfit. It actually suits her original personality much better than the old one. I hope she'll actually be shy in this new series. I don't know how they managed to fuck up Fluttershy so badly in the actual show. I can't even remember the last time she actually felt genuinely soft and kind. Half of the time she's a bipolar spazz with awful grating voice direction that ruins any softer moments that do manage to find their way in.

EqG Fluttershy has pulled off the "gentle and kind" schtick better than Season 4 or 5's Fluttershy did, however; by then it was just getting annoying and her episodes were some of the shittier ones

The problem is that Fluttershy is not likeable anymore, not that she isn't shy. There's so many instances of crazy outbursts whenever she has a prominent part that it actually makes her soft side feel fake and manipulative. It has a lot to do with the voice direction and not necessarily the writing. Watch the scene with Fluttershy's outburst in Suited for Success:

When she actually has an outburst, her voice is still soft and she doesn't sound angry or mad. She just sounds frustrated and its much more restrained. Compare it to the recent scene in Fluttershy Leans in, which reflects how she always sounds nowadays.

It has none of the subtly of her voice direction in season 1. It's just loud, angry, and vengeful.

The pony sketches on the packages are quite pretty, a huge step up from the old vectors.
