Also they just built flags most of the time.

We've been building in a particular area for a long time. I know our autism isn't that powerful or focused, but I'd be pleased to do this (maybe scaled down, or just partially) in some empty place far from the center. Even the colors were adapted for the PixelCanvas limited palette.

There are 4,424,862 pixels (1,846 x 2,397) in this image, at 1:1. Perhaps, if scaled down x0.25, could be finished in 3-4 months by 4-5 anons working constantly everyday.

you draw them. You can pixelate pictures using photoshop or websites like pixel-stitch, but really those auto pixel solutions are only good for reference when drawing the real template in the site's palette.

Get any program with layers, resize the picture you want to make to the size you want it to be (keep in mind for a sense of scale our portraits, without outline, are 100x100). Then use the pencil tool to draw over it in another layer with Pixelcanvas's palette, picking the most accurate colors for each pixel. Then clean it up after to make the spriting cleaner and add shading or details that were lost by resizing it (refer to the original picture to do so).

There isn't any shortcut if you want good spritework, it's that simple. You can play around with reducing the palette of a picture with some programs, and others can try to make it for you, but you'll still have just as much touchups to do as if you did it the other way if you want it to look good.
