It's pretty fun. I usually did it each summer in high school. I didn't want a job, really had no real responsibilities most weeks, so it was just do whatever the fuck you want, whenever you want, and you usually turn inadvertantly nocturnal when you live like that because you stay up super late into the early hours of the morning and sleep in until dinnertime. It wasn't half bad. Was always fun to drive out at night and pull up to the 24-hour fast food place of choice at 7PM like, sup, I'm here for breakfast.

The whole episode was over the top, in a bad way. I like that we got a princess episode, but it could have been done much better. Not realizing kids can be a lot smarter than grown-up thinks.

The consistency errors are horrible.
s01e01+02 - Twilight reads that NMM is about to return and writes in panic to Equestrias ruler Celestia.
Gets response to go to Ponyville and make some friends. By chance, NMM appears in Ponyville of all places.

Less intelligent kids can find it normal that grown-ups doesn't listen. But Twily saves the day/night anyway.
Fans who likes to think can speculate that Celestia knew a lot more than she pretended.

Fast forward to s07e01 - Celestia crying on the floor, talking to herself and worrying over her little student.
Suddenly Celestia decides to send Twily to Ponyville. Completely ignoring any mention of the NMM.
(Like she haven't seen a shitload of fillies grow up over 1000 years. Compare how parents go bonkers with worry over the first child and just smiles at the shenanigans of the next.)

I could pick out 100 examples from that shit-script but in summary: Fucking bad writing from the 2 bitches hired to do s07e01.

I was heading in that direction, but I wasn't sure how far I wanted to take the dialog, given that they not only speak different languages, but Luna speaks an archaic version of her language, meaning anything he learns would be useless once he gets to equestria
Outside of whispering sweet nothings in her own tongue to her to make her blush in public, that is
I was setting it up so certain key words like names and basic nouns would be known, so they might be able to butcher a sentence, but unfortunately, that makes reading the story painful, and ruins good conversations in what should be heartfelt moments.

On the other hand, if I just hand-wave their communication barrier in favor of advancing the available dialog, it would require more detail as to why they can communicate so well suddenly.
And all this on top of figuring out where to take the actual story, since the moon is barren as shit.
I do want to finish it, not out of obligation, but just a personal desire to see it through properly.
