You're not actually complaining about the animation, you're complaining about the coloring and weird AFX shading used in the teaser. It's been confirmed by the art director herself that the coloring you see in the teaser is due to incorrect conversion of 16-bit to 8-bit color depth.

I put some frames from the trailer next to some frames for the show. The movie is going to look great when the shadows aren't sloppily ripped and the ponies are actually against the detailed backgrounds from the movie.

Art Director for not only the movie but season 5, Rebecca Dart has stated that the horrible animation in the teaser is because someone didn't covert 16 bit image to 8 bit correctly crushing all the shadows and then went on to say she would never have given this teaser the green light. she also states the animation in the movie is a lot better.

hasbro/lionsgate has shot them in the foot with this teaser.
