Dust Chaser, a small dust-colored pegasus with a talent for hot & dry weather in particular and fire in general. Her most impressive skill is creating a fire whirl.
Since that's a pretty fucking useless talent to have, she's a traveling storyteller doing small jobs here and there, "home" is wherever she rests for the night.

Unicorn with a broken horn and therefore incapable of unicorn magic. In reversing the trope, there'd be zero edge involved. Rather than brood, character philosophy could be summarized as "there are SO many other types of magic to study! Who even has time to worry about a horn?". Dabbles in alchemy, friendship magic, is fascinated by dark magic and alicorn magic, and tries to understand all types of magic.
The movie sort of stole my idea though from the looks of it, Tempest even is the villain's sidekick but seems to completely lack edge.

A good guideline is: would they 'fit' in the show? Would they look out of place in the background of an episode?
A good OC is not a super powered special snowflake, has a color scheme that compliments the character instead of brazenly drawing attention or hurting your eyes, would make for a believable citizen of the world it inhabits and is not a Mary Sue.

Can't find them on Amazon or River Horse's own site, so I'm pretty confident they're not out yet. The character sheets, dice and screen are included with the first module, so we'll have to wait for that to release, I guess.

There's lots of ways that you can fuck up the campaign for maximum drama that doesn't involve grim dark though. Imagine your character and friends are sent to work out a friendship problem against two angry factions, and you keep "accidentally" sabotaging the process by carelessly saying or doing the wrong thing at the wrong time. Build that shit up for the biggest reveal possible.
