In the comic Rarity was out-right refusing to even work with Trixie on the same project despite Trixie endangering no-one yet. And this was after the S6 finale. Here Rarity is clearly friendly enough to help make a dress for her at least.

7/10. Its a decent book, I Like trixie's characterization, and overall its not bad. I hate starlight and dislike that its basically "STARLIGHT SAVES THE FUCKING DAY AGAIN: 2", but I like the mane six and parts of it.
Not great, but could have been worse. Trixie's egomania feels funny while remaining fairly harmless to avoid demonizing her too much. Trixie fans are probably pissed though, as this is very much NOT a celebratory book about Trixie, its a FUCKING STARLIGHT book. Like, the book should lift trixie up and talk about what makes her good as a pony, while this does that for starlight about how great of a pony she is instead.

I think I'll put this one at a 7/10. Trixie may have been more secondary than other books main characters have, but she was still the focus as far as I'm concerned since everything centered around her. I don't really have any complainants other than it didn't wow me as much as the other books have. Solid slice of life and cute friend ponies being friends and doing hard friend things for each other.

I'm curious if this or any of the other books will be referenced in any of Berrow's upcoming episodes in S7 somehow.

well, remember in the comics when the diamond dogs simply *thought* trixie had rarity's magical abilities, it was enough for them to make her the queen of their civilization. It was a shithole, but it was still their entire kingdom. So gem magic might be hard or difficult-- the only issue with the logic is how easily twilight copied the spell.

I enjoyed the book a lot! The book is a bit less Trixie focused than expected, though she is slightly more prominent than Starlight and Rarity in it. 7/10, I guess. Most of the story is told from Trixie's POV, and her egotism just shines through it. Even so, it doesn't become obnoxious, keeping her the protagonist despite her flaws. Much better writing than I expected for the age-level it's intended for.

The only drawback I found was the last chapter, where everything wrapped up too quickly and too neatly. It's like the writers were so engrossed in their story that they forgot it actually needed an ending.

Charity from Rarity's book got the most art cause she was just a Rarity recolor, but original art for the books is very scarce since very few people seem to care about them in the fandom. Even >>29625098 was made off a request that the artist didn't even know came from this book.
Which all kind of sucks since these books are quite nice in my opinion. Good solid slice of life.

I think an alternate reality where Trixie is made celestia's protege would have been a fun romp.

Personally, I really did love the Princess Collection. It's tough to pick a favorite of the four. Celestia's and Twilight's have some worldbuilding, Luna's got lots of focus on her point of view and there's some nice heartfelt moments, and Cadance's expands on the ponies of the Crystal Empire so it's not just a bunch of faceless masses that we've always had. I've been recently passing the hiatus by going through the chapter books, and just finished the Princess Collection, and they were all pretty great. I probably enjoyed Luna's the least, since it's plot was fairly simple and traigh-forward. It's main appeal was just getting more insite into Luna and what a troll she apparently is. Cadance's felt the most like a show episode, and Twilight's was the most dynamic and high-stakes. Celestia's was my favorite though, just because it had tons of world-building and kept me guessing where it was going through most of it.

as a non native english speaker,holy damn it took me to read this almost like half an hour(I wanted to get everything even if I needed to go through slowly) and I must say that this has charm

the S6 references sound like a call to a distant past with this story and I did get some thoughts of being everything just in its right place after all

Maybe it's just me rationalizing after having done this for over 2.5 years now, but I think for a lot of this stuff Anons wouldn't have even considered the books or comics if they weren't available in full to see before buying them.
I know I only got into the printed pony because some kind Anon storytimed the first comic issue in mlpg, and the books I didn't get into until someone made a fuss about the Rarity book and I got that one from Yayponies. Season 1 & 3 sort of dipped their toes into the idea of involving Trixie her two episodes being probably one of the best of their seasons after that we went 2 seasons without her and after FG I slowly gave up hope. But now she's back in season 6 being a close friend with starlight having her attitude and ego but seeking redemption and genuine fame / success also showing again in legend of everfree and now her own book I just hope they make Trixie keep having recurring roles minor or major she fits the bill perfectly.

I really hope the writers make a episode based on her performing in the grand galloping gala intront of the princesses or working together with twilight sparkle and throughout slowly turning their rivalry into mutual friends.
