>What is this thread about?
This thread revolves around stories about ponies being enslaved.

>Can you elaborate more?
Sure! SPG (Slave Pony General) is mostly about characters dealing with the actual implications of the horrifying thing that is chattel slavery. It's more looking at how people with modern sensibilities deal with the ownership of another sentient being, and how most people aren't total cunts.
If you want an explanation on the differences between /SPG/ and /SiM/, go check out the FAQ.

>I want to write my own story but I'm new to writing.

>Where do the writers hang out?
Head over to www.rizon.net/chat with the channel name #slavepone. If you're ever having a writer's block and need advice or you just want to hang out with us, that is the place to go! (You can also use a standalone IRC client if you already have one).

I was thinking about writing about AJ getting sold into slavery by Rarity during one of their friendship missions and how the earth pony comes to terms with serving the far superior magical unicorn masters. Anyone interested in that?

>make him trace kisses up along your body and clean his mess off you with his tongue

I voted for don't bother rewriting, and here's why:

Frankly, magic was always a loose thing in the show and with later seasons it's turned into straight up 'powers as the plot demands'. So it feels like there's no reason to hold yourself to some absolute standard over a minor detail when there's no logic to begin with. For that matter, there are reasons it could've been different:
>Magic is funky on earth
>Starlight's out of practice with her shields and needs to be immediately there
>She just wants to be there herself, and in her typical self-centered way is lying so they'll let her.
>>
>>29483074
She is a cute poner, and an even cuter slave.
>Timid, awkward little bookhorse forced into slavery and made to do things that a good little pony like her would never even have thought about, much less done.

Just remember anon, this is your fault.

>You are Twilight Sparkle
>Your owner is forcing you to help out the local used bookstore.
>It's not as great as it sounds.
>You don't get to stock, or sort, or even work the register.
>They're clearing out one of their storage rooms of all its books.
>Which means you get to do a lot of heavy lifting.
>From the side room, through the larger storage area, out the back door, and drop them in the rear parking lot.
>The side room has a lot of books in it.
>It's probably 10ft by 10ft, packed floor to ceiling with paperbacks
>Literally, floor to ceiling.
>There must be thousands. Definitely more than your treebrary.
>Probably more than your castle.
>...
>There's a muscular shirtless man on the cover.
>All of the covers.
>You don't know more than that. You're not allowed to read anything.
>One time you tried to peek, but that earned you a firm swat with a riding crop.
>It didn't hurt too much, but it was an effective warning.
>You're not willing to see what the next peek would get you.
>...
>You sigh.
>Of course your master would choose this as punishment.
>He never beat you, but he didn't let you off easy either.
>His punishments were always psychological, and overly cruel.
>Thank the sun he was never physical.
>But having to move thousands of books and not be able to read any of them?
>It was basically torture. And he knows it.
>>
>>29483683

==Later that day==

>You've been at this for most of today.
>Your magic, hobbled as it is, is beyond taxed.
>There's so many books.
>You've spent the last three hours just carrying them on your back.
>Only a two more boxes, though. The room is almost empty.
>All day long your mind had kept straying to those books.
>The stories they must tell. The secrets they hold.
>That same male, on every book.
>Always shirtless, always full of confidence.
>Always holding some female.
>Probably some kind of warrior, from how muscular he is.
>This must be the biggest fantasy series that's every existed.
>Sure there's a lot of repeats, but for the most part they're all unique.
>Kind of. They're all really similar.
>'Never judge a book by its cover' be damned, they're so similar you have trouble with counting unique books.
>But even so, it'd take you weeks, maybe months to go through the whole series.
>And at your reading speed, that's really saying something.
>One more box.
>You almost slip as you pick it up.
>You're soaked in sweat.
>Oh filly you're out of shape.
>You've been putting on muscle during your servitude.
>With the manual labor it'd be hard not to.
>As much as it pains you to admit it, you're in the best shape of your life.
>But it wasn't enough for this.
>You forgot how heavy books are when you can't levitate them around.
>He even turned down your magic restrictor a little bit.
>And your magic reserves still ran out.
>This world has so little magic in it, you'd spend the next two weeks without telekinesis.
>...
>Well, it's not a good thing but you'll survive.
>Your owner wasn't a flankhole all the time.
>Aside from the massively disproportionate punishment.
>Seriously, today was for spilling a glass of chocolate milk.
>>
>>29483687

>And now, the last box.
>You're way, waaaay beyond exhausted.
>Even with the lunch and dinner break, you don't think you've ever been this tired.
>Unicorns aren't built for this.
>Especially not the bookworm ones.
>But this is it.
>The last box.
>You set it down next to all the others.
>A huge pile of books in the parking lot.
>Some in stacks, others in boxes.
>Oh, it feels so good to sit.
>It's cooled down nicely since sunset.
>Two hours ago...
>...
>They better have a plan for these books.
>One that doesn't involve you moving them.
>You couldn't even if you tried.
>But it's not like they had you load them onto a truck, or into a shed or something.
>They're just all in a big pile in the middle of the parking lot.
>At least the sky is clear. No worrying about rain.
>They could be left out and wouldn't get damaged tonight.
>...
>Was this some sort of promotional event for human bookstores?
>$5 to grab from the pile?
>Maybe a lottery to win the whole stack?
>That wouldn't make sense though. This is the rear parking lot.
>You'd want to advertise next to the road, right?
>>
>>29483692

>Aaaaaaand your owner just tied your leash to a lamppost.
>You mentally take back what you said.
>He really is a flankhole.
>You just spent the entire day helping his friend.
>An entire day, hauling a literal room-full of books, without reading anything.
>And he ties you up like a dog.
>...
>Oh no.
>Things just started getting weird.
>As soon as you were tied up, all the employees gathered around the pile.
>Glaring at it with a hatred you had never before seen.
>Sneering at the pile, grumbling hateful things.
>It was as if those books had personally wronged them.
>When the murmurs turned into chanting, you started to panic.
>This was new, and it was terrifying.
>You'd read of human cults, but you'd never actually seen one.
>The mutters turn to snarls turn to shouts.
>Louder and louder each time.
>"Fuck Fabio, Fuck Fabio, Fuck Fabio, Fuck Fabio!"
>You don't know what that means.
>You just know you need to stop it, and you're completely powerless to do so.
>And then, the bookstore owner came outside.
>With a burning torch.

>Your breath caught
>Time seemed to slow to a crawl
>You could see in perfect clarity each ember
>caught in the wind
>as he threw the torch
>at the pile of books

FUCK. Of course I notice a huge error right after posting it. Twilight thinks of him as 'owner' because I specifically wanted to set up a contrast with her Jigsaw-Anon and Clear Skies lovingly thinking of 'master'.

I even wrote it down in the goddamn notepad so I wouldn't screw it up. For fuck's sake.

>>29483937
The comfy will return. I don't post anything until I have the whole story done. If I got midway through and lost motivation and/or inspiration, I'd never forgive myself. I've been blueballed like that too many times.

This was just a quick and stupid thing that wandered its way into my head. That "I thought we consigned all those to a cleansing fire" line from the 4cc hyp video is the blame. Also I have a lot of resentment for shitty romance novels. Worked in a used bookstore before and they're EVERYWHERE. I swear a third of our stock was that trash.

>Alicorn tears are a literal thing
>Rather than returning a victim to life as some others' tears do, they heal them psychologically
>From mild depression to full-on psychoses and dementia, there is no ailment of the mind which consumption of an alicorn's tears cannot wipe away
>Unfortunately, the equivalent of a full single tear is needed, so dilution is not really possible.
>The tears of Equestria's princesses become a multibillion dollar industry
>Alicorns spend their existence being savagely tortured in every conceivable way to provoke them to cry
>Just dousing them with tear gas became useless long ago
>Physical options have been expended to the point that nothing short of the most horrifying torments requiring the most debased of torturers even draws a single drop from them anymore
>All that is left is psychological pain
>Whole teams of doctors spend days developing new versions of hell for all five alicorns to experience
>And all the while even more are at work feverishly trying to figure out how to breed yet more of these creatures

Excerpt from the personal log of Dr. Anonington Frederick Aggot, Esquire:

>Day 41.

>Today begins a new project, as ordered by High Command NC03.

>While the initial Tears were gathered by simple methods, they were insufficient for the volume required.
>These creatures are mind-numbingly innocent, and my team has taken advantage of that.
>The initial method (withholding pudding cups from supper) resulted in a mere 4ml of Tears per event.
>Taking away their nose and holding it for a ransom of impossible sums increases production to 5ml.
>Given the extreme curative properties of a single Alicorn Tear, we should be thankful for even that much.
>The suits upstairs disagree.

>We have since been experimenting with more intense methods, while retaining a focus on safety.
>Both of the subject, and our facility.
>It is clear that this is simply not good enough.
>However, increasing severity has led to mixed results.

>A brief foray into so called "Struggle Snuggling" was attempted.
>Dr. Incog from Magical R&D had volunteered to carry out the procedure, as his department has been following a related line of research.
>Incog has since been banned from my department.
>Heightened security measures have since been put in place.

>Nonconsentual hoof-holding is inconsistent.
>Initital runs proved promising, but follow-up results varied wildly.
>In one case, 31ml. However, that result was unable to be recreated.
>That method has since been abandoned.

>Last week one of our junior researchers came to me with a new approach.
>He brought in a copy of Grave of the Fireflies on VHS.
>Subject Blue and Pink reacted well, producing 47ml and 41ml respectively.
>Subject White, however, produced 92ml over the course of the film.

>High Command NC03 has approved of the new methodology, and it is to be implemented this evening.
>The first Princess Movie Night will feature the 1978 classic Watership Down.

Ok lets do some math.
7 billion people.
Google says 18% suffer from a mental disorder in the US.
So that's 1260000000 people (very) roughly world wide.
20 drops per ml.
So to treat every person in the world they would need 63million ml, or 63000 liters, or 16643. gallons.

"You sure you don't want to stay for dinner?"
>As you speak, you start slicing the meat into smaller strips that can be roasted over the fire.
>Gloria smiles at the sight of your freshly caught dinner.
>"Well, how could I refuse an offer like that?"
>She sits down again, across from you this time.
>You start cooking some small strips of venison over the fire.
>The smell of cooking meat fills the air, making your stomach growl.
>Despite your anticipation for dinner, Star doesn't look quite as pleased.
>She's currently munching on some hay, looking rather uncomfortable.
>Gloria has apparently noticed, as well.
>"You okay there, Twilight? I know you guys don't eat meat, but nature-"
>Star cuts Gloria off by waving a hoof in denial.
>Despite her proximity to the fire, you need to squint to see Star's writing in the dim lighting.

>"Well, she's obviously uncomfortable. Don't you have any fruit or something?"
"No, but if you go back to your camp, we can eat your fruit."
>You gesture at the strips of meat still cooking over the fire, almost completely cooked.
"It's almost done anyway."
>"I don't have any meat, but Twi-"
>Star claps her hooves together, obviously trying to get you and Gloria's attention.
>She actually looks annoyed at the two of you.
>"Stop fighting, all I said was that I found the smell unusual."
>Gloria looks sort of sheepish now.
>"Gloria, you need to understand that Anon is providing me with food and protection, I can put up with the smell of cooking meat"
>>
>>29490769
>You hear a grumbled "Well, he should protect you anyway..."
>Star chooses to ignore this and turns to you.
>"Anon, you know that her culture values my opinion over your own, you should know better than to justify your argument without my input."
>So basically, you can't let her get suspicious about our story and defer to me a bit.
>At least, that's what you think she's trying to convey.
>That or she's acting like your mom.
>Well, even if it doesn't have a deeper meaning, it's still good advice.
"Sorry, Star..."
>She shakes her head a little and starts writing again.
>"I just don't like seeing people fight"
>It gets a little quiet after that.
>You gave her some of the cooked venison, but it isn't just the silence of the hungry.
>Gloria looks ashamed at her behavior, despite only raising her voice a little.
>You suppose getting scolded by something you idolize is a bit rough.
>Might as well break the silence.
"So, where are you camped?"
>She frowns, but quickly replaces it with a smile.
>"Right here! For now, at least."
>So, has no supplies this far away from any settlement that would give her a warm welcome?
"So you don't have any supplies beyond the clothes on your back?"
>Her tone becomes much more lighthearted than before
>"Hey! I can hunt pretty well with my magic!"
>Muttering a few unrecognizable words in what you presume is the language of white magic, she lets loose small puff of air.
>...which slices some of the venison you were eating in half.
>Luckily, it just falls on your lap and not the ground.
>You jokingly jump up and begin yelling at her, despite being a little nervous about her display of magic.
"Shit! You almost killed me, Gloria!"
>You even throw in some crazy hand gestures.
>She laughs hysterically at your reaction.
>Even Star smiles at your obviously overblown reaction
>>
>>29490777
>For a little while, you forgot the person sitting across from you was a member of a race that harbored extensive hatred for your kind.
"You're just trying to replace me, so you can travel with Star!"
>Gloria takes a deep breath and starts waggling her fingers.
>"Yes, the spooky white mage is going to steal your unicorn away from you!"
>Star starts inhaling and exhaling quickly, holding a hoof to her mouth.
>You think she's laughing, but it actually looks a little creepy because of the Silence.
>You ignore it though and continue on.
"I knew it! You unicorn stealing scum!"
>The back and forth continues for a few minutes, but quickly breaks down after not one can talk from the body shaking laughter.
>You don't know about the others, but it isn't really the words that carry the humor for you.
>Sitting down for dinner is weird, but dinner with a tribal, a black mage, and a unicorn is patently absurd.
>You guess stereotype on both sides were wrong.
>You're certainly no bloodthirsty thug working for cash and Gloria isn't an uneducated and murderous maniac.
>Not that you aren't suspicious of her lack of camp and other odd comments, you just want to take everything at face value for now.
>Gloria finally get up, brushing herself off.
>"Well, I'm actually going to leave now."
>Turning towards the north, she waves goodbye.

>>Ask her to travel with you. Despite the consequences, she could be useful.
>>Keep a watch during the night. She WAS acting a little suspicious.

White Mage, Black Mage and a Unicorn walk into the bar.
I kinda wish to see the punchline to that joke.
On one hand, diverse party helps in many different ways, on the other its suspicious how shes alone and with no backup, reluctant to talk about herself.
Would it be possible that she was banished from the tribe? Or maybe shes just lying?
I would tell her that I wouldnt mind her traveling with us. But if she really has something else to do, dont push and let her go.
Ask Star for opinion.
Keep watch at night.

"...I'm glad you see things that way."
> Celestia had taught you that a lie was a damaging thing.
> But sometimes, when there was no other recourse, they were necessary.
> One tool in the repertoire of a successful leader - to be used sparingly, but not rejected altogether.
> Merely held in reserve for the moments when such tools would be necessary.
> And the more you consider the way Haute Glamour is watching you, the more you realize this might be the time to marshal every drop of politicking skill you have.
> This pony was not merely out for herself, but outright dangerous to you.
> Because despite her promise not to 'shake the throne', you highly doubted she would hesitate to sell you out if it came to that.
> Quickly you run through what you know of her owner.
> Randall Cooper, a business adviser and manager - you'd only seen him with two ponies now, Posey and now Glamour.
> The former seemed to be his personal assistant and guide, the one he sent for little tasks; the latter...
> Adviser herself?
> Spy?
> Was she something like a partner to him, as you were with Anonymous?
> You weren't sure.
> The more you think on it, the more you realize you need to talk to Posey.
> Glamour was not trustworthy, and Randall himself you would have to figure out on your own.
> But Posey could help you.
"With any luck, we will be able to get this done quickly, and with a minimum of friction or distractions."
> Was that too blunt?
> Glamour had seen through your act for the sake of the meeting.
> Would she see through this?
> If she does, she shows no sign of it.
> "And I think, then, that we can both agree there is no need to... excessively bring either of them into this."
> Anonymous and Randall, you presume she means.
"I thought that was the entire purpose of your being here - to ensure that they do not have to become involved.
> Glamour only cracks a small grin, and you nod in understanding.
> Another test.
>>
>>29492810

> "Randall is blind in more ways than one. He relies on us not merely to guide him as he walks, but to be his eyes and ears... but in that, we are valuable and in that value power."
"His other ponies?"
> "He fawns over us all, yes. That made things so much more simple - I merely had to make myself the most available, the most helpful to him and it was smooth-sailing from there."
> So she had galloped roughshod over the other ponies in the pursuit of her own comfort.
> It takes a decent amount of effort to keep your teeth from grinding, but you manage.
"It is... not so simple here. There are certain demands placed on us, so we have to show some measure of improvement or he will start making his own checks. And - how many are you?"
> "Nearly a dozen of them. Mostly to help him around the house - being blind as a bat, you know. A couple of them help him with his management, although they're mostly doing rote work. Calculating numbers, producing graphs, very simple things."
> Again, 'them'.
> She clearly doesn't feel herself to be part of Randall's 'herd'.
Another difference, I'm afraid - the population is too high to control everypony directly."
> "Hence your use of some ponies as guards, I see."
> Or, if you'd have said it, why simply stepping on everypony on your way up wouldn't work.
"And that I've had to establish a hierarchy with more than two tiers in this camp."
> "Oh? You think that way of managing ponies is necessary?"
> If your danger senses were signalling any louder, they would be deafening.
"Not at all... you've done an impressive job yourself. You obviously figured out who he was attached to and that you couldn't replace his most critical ponies directly, so you focused on an alternative path to success."
> "Well yes - and, of course, who'd want to do something so simple as just leading him around?"
> With a toss of her mane, Glamour gives a small laugh.
>>
>>29492818

> "Those ponies are far better suited for base tasks like that. It's no mistake that I was the most successful from among them."
"Some ponies do find that they are called to be leaders, yes. Even in, as you put it, these conditions."
> Leaders, you remind yourself.
> Not rulers.
> You were nothing like this pony.
> "Though, if you were interested, I would not mind... taking a role in your operation. A little bit of hooves-on learning in how to manage a larger group of ponies."
> Eyes snapping to Glamour, you try to parse that offer:
> Was she trying to weasel her way into your favor?
> Or just securing a place for herself?
> Seeming to realize that she'd overstepped herself, Haute Glamour drops her eyes submissively.
"...I think it's best not to try any... drastic changes while we are already undergoing a significant expansion, yes?"
> "Of course, of course..."
"Though I would be happy to give you a few pointers, at this time our primary focus should be - as you said - on ensuring that both Randall and Anonymous are pleased with us."
> "Well, then, we shouldn't wast any time in ensuring there aren't any problems that might disturb that. Let's begin."
> ...
> When Haute Glamour finally excuses herself from your office, Mayor Mare has long since returned to her own desk.
> You do not direct Glamour to her position, however, as right now there was far, far more on your mind.
> Only when the door is shut and you'd watched her walk far out of earshot back towards the manor does the older Earth Pony join you at the window.
> "Who was that?"
"The greatest threat to peace and stability in this camp I have seen in some time... and that is saying something."
> Mayor Mare cocks her head.
> "She likes to be in control. To have everypony coming to her, reminding her of just how important she is... maybe even so she can just dismiss them."
> Spotting your questioning look, she shrugs.
>>
>>29492831

> "It's how she walks. I was a young mare once as well, Your Highness - I know what kind of pony walks like that. One who wants to feel... in charge. Important."
"If my estimation is right, she's only done so by running roughshod over every other pony she works with."
> Did Haute have magic, you wonder?
> You couldn't have asked her directly, but she wasn't wearing a limiter and the few times you'd seen her light her horn there didn't appear to be any obvious stress in it.
> That didn't mean she wasn't - a limiter could set a bar far above mere simple telekinesis, no matter how deft - but from the way she spoke it didn't sound like Randall had any limits on her.
"So, the question then becomes 'how do we fight this'."
> "No."
> Looking up at you, Mayor Mare sadly shakes her head.
> "Now the question becomes, 'how little damage can be done when she inevitably clashes with you'. It's how things always go with a pony like her."
"I hope to be more optimistic than that... but I am afraid you are correct."
> "Your Highness... if something does go wrong while she is around..."
"You don't have to tell me. I know - it could go very bad, very quickly. Right now she feels she's an equal to me, but if she senses weakness..."
> "Like Timberwolves to a lame pony."
> Nodding, you reflect on that at least everypony here suffered more or less equally in bondage under Anonymous; there were no power struggles or hierarchies.
> The ponies who ran various sections in the camp had little to show for it except, perhaps, individual bedrooms and bathrooms - and many hours of sleep lost to their duties.
> Perhaps the most starkly worrying specter to you is if somepony discovered that they could, possibly, find a comfortable spot on top of the pile instead of being a part of it.
> It's a thought that puts a shiver through your coat; up until now, you'd been more worried about ponies resisting than ponies collaborating.
> If that changed...
>>
>>29492836

"Mayor, do you think you can manage any surprises coming up in the next few hours?"
> "I suppose. Why, what are you going to do?"
"I have a bad feeling that Haute Glamour is going to set things in motion sooner rather than later, and there are things that I need to do before it gets to that point."
> "I'll deal with everything I can, Your Highness."
"Thank you, Mayor."

Pick a direction!
> You need to get more information you can use to control Haute Glamour. Go try to speak to Posey.
> You need to make sure everything in the camp is running smoothly, and that any serious incidents can be managed before she hears of them: Go try to speak to Thunderlane.
> You need to bring this to the one person you can be sure will have absolute control over this situation: Go try to bring your concerns to Anonymous.
>>
>>29492844
Choose Anonymous. This concerns camp dynamics, and you bringing up these kinds of issues with him will most likely lead to him setting Glamour straight.
>>
>>29492844
>> You need to bring this to the one person you can be sure will have absolute control over this situation: Go try to bring your concerns to Anonymous.

Just go straight to the top with this. Best to start damage control early.
>>
>>29492844
Definitely Anon. If Haute makes a move, the first will likely be to put herself between him and Cadence. He needs to know what kind of pony he's dealing with so he doesn't underestimate her, and is prepared for when she starts shit.

He has confidence in your judgement and ability to run the camp. He'll believe you. But probably will make you play along still. It sounds like he needs the investors more than he lets on. Anon will have the guard double up though, which means Thunderlane's job gets harder.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure Haute set things in motion on the way back to the mansion. Hell, maybe even bugged a few rooms this visit. If Randal gives her free reign like it sounds, I wouldn't put it out of her toolkit. We don't even know her cutiemark or talent; we have no idea how far her magic can go or what it can do.

Also, Mayor Mare finally getting a chance to shine? She's such an underused character.
>>
>>29492926
>>29492951
>>29493055
I'm fine with approaching Anon for reasons listed, but is he as a threat for Haute to exploit as we think?

We know how he feels about Cadance. If it's Haute's word vs ours, we're practically safe. And there might be only so much that Anon can do since it sounds like we need the investors more than Randall (and Haute) needs of us.

I was thinking of actually approaching Posey first: talking more to Posey to learn about our enemy, and getting in close with Randall's assistant, might give us the edge we need over Haute to get to HER master before she can get to ours. What's more, Haute might forsee us going to Anonymous first but seeking out a worthless assistant might come unexpected.
>>
>>29493105
At this point it's mostly just making him aware of what she is trying, not trying to get him to act on it.
>>
>>29493055

Posey is a good option. She's sincere and a qt, and likely overhears much more than she thinks. It would play to Haute's weakness more than the other options. I think she underestimates how much Randall likes the other ponies.

I don't know how much it would help though. What's Posey going to tell us that could possibly be useful? That Haute is a jerk and treats other ponies like tools? Maybe something about Randall that'll help, but even that wouldn't be able to stop whatever she's got planned.

And the Thunderlane option isn't so great. He'd be able to help. Cracking down and working through some contacts would delay the trainwreck quite a bit, but those incidents would happen anyways and all Haute needs is one.

>>29493171
Sunburst would.
>>
>>29493105
And how can Posey help us?
From the sound of things, Haute has everyone wrapped around her hoof, Randal included.
He simply wont believe us.
Or worse, Haute will use it to discredit us and paint US as ones trying to upstage order within Randals ponies.
Take this to Anon, tell him everything we gathered about her and how much of a danger to our camp she can be. But before, ask if she was here, beware of the bugs>>29493055.

This pone can realistically destroy the whole camp, everything we AND Anon worked on.
>>
>>29493202
>And how can Posey help us?
Mostly as an in to Randall. I think >>29493201 has a decent point in that Haute likely underestimates how much Randall likes the rest of his herd, having his No. 2 on our side could prove to be the silver bullet for taking her out.
>>

How so? She's just Randall's liason to the camp. The worst she could do is lose us Randall's investment but there's many others.

>>
>>29493248
Are there, though? Only one person showed real interest during the meeting, and it wasn't Randall.

It's likely Randall's investment is already locked-in. If things go to shit, it might end in a messy legal battle. Haute has the ability to turn things to shit in an instant. She's not just here to secure Randall's investment, she's here to do what she wants and get as much power and control (and wealth?) as she can in the process.
>>
>>29493248
Shes confident, selfish and driven.
And shes in the camp RIGHT NOW.
It comes to little things, a word here, a push there and delicate structure we trying to uphold here comes crashing down.
Why would she do it?

Something as simple as toppling an alicorn princess, bringing the highest authority of the old word to her knees, proving shes better than Cadence.

If she's this much of a threat we might need an 'all hands on deck' kind of option. Cadence's danger sense went crazy, right? Talk to Posey, then after they leave relocate Anon to another building to have a meeting with Mayor Mare, Thunderlane, and Gene while Mocha brings Sunburst room-to-room sweeping for bugs.

Don't know if that kind of thing is allowed. Seems pretty meta-gamey. I'm not sure Cadence would be that smart/paranoid. Might take the fun out of things to come.

i'm all for trusting anon, they have a good relationship we rarely utilize.
>>
>>29493340
Maybe I misread something here about the level of authority here Haute has:

Isn't she just checking Cadance's operation to bring word back to Randall? She doesn't actually have any executive power and it doesn't even sound like she'll be in the camp for long. Why do most posters fear her having the ability to ruin the camp with her personal agenda when she doesn't have any say in how the camp operates?
>>
>>29493367
What Candance needs is to demonstrate to Haute Glamor the difference between Tyranny and Leadership, it is not the same to control a dozen scary ponies as a community of hundreds, many of them very angry and about to explode ponies.
>>
>>29493412
Because she shows the typical personality of a High School Bitch Queen, she uses the others to reach the top and to stay in it she could be able to do the same as Sunset Shimmer in the first movie of Equestria Girls
>>
>>29493432
And I can see how that gets her far in a small group of less than a dozen. But this is a camp of over a thousand ponies, most of whom are already pretty cliquey and some of which may even crack her teeth in for trying. There isn't as much connection to Anonymous to the camp as there was for her group to Randall: the only sucking up she can do is to Cadance because Anonymous has given her more or less free reign of the camp by now. I just don't see the Queen Bitch stratagem being effective in a slave camp.

Which is instantly shut down if Anon knows Haute is the kind of pony she is, and why talking to Anon first is a good option.

However, that's not the only way she could get what she wants. Sparking an unrelated rebellion and then resolving things before they get out of control to make herself look good. Starting a second power structure of the more rebellious ponies looking to her for leadership. Supplying contraband and/or weapons to fledgling rebellions to destabilize Cadence's image of being in control.

Anon is not as manipulative as Randall seems to be, besides that he is accustomed to handling the difficult and willful ponies, I doubt that Glamor dares to reach extremes like seduction in someone like Anon but she will certainly seek to undermine his attention of Candance By other means, such as blackmailing ponies of smaller posts like Mocha or Thunderlane or spying on the princess's movements through a network of informants, in which case she can convince someponies with favors and comforts, or worse, if she discovers the Growing disdain for the princess she could use it for something as damaging as to make raids in the name of Candance and at all times make her see her as responsible for the poor state of the population and thus convince Anon that Candance has failed as Leader

If you're wondering if there are any new stories, there's been a few new writefags lately. Unless you're talking about in this thread, then this post is useless

I should have an update posted on mine tonight. Going to try to wrap it up ASAP now. If you've not read the whole thing, there's already about 70k words in the pastebin (linked in recent updates). After that, I'm immediately starting a new story.

Aside from that we have a dope new CYOA going on.

Reeb's CYOA, Handsome Jew's.

Some faggot posted exactly one update of this really intriguing green then disappeared. It seemed like Equestria was on the American continent, and Anon was the Duke of Lancaster of Rome Restored. He was a diplomat trying to negotiate peace in a war that's going badly for the ponies, and one of the sticking points is pony slaves.

Just read Shiny and Corona.

I'm not impressed. The pacing is the worst I've ever seen. Corona and Anon's characterizations are all over the place, though Shining stays pretty consistent. It's hard to tell just what Anon's motivations are at any given time. Also, real horses WOULD have made more sense for the type of work he has them doing. Or even grading/filling the land where needed to allow access for the tractor or other equipment, negating the need for work animals of any kind. The way Corona is so submissive - and falls in love with Anon - rubs me the wrong way. Particularly after she got what was a pretty cruel beating from him. That should have opened her eyes right away that she is just a slave to him and he will never treat or look at her as an equal, as would be required for there to be any hope at genuine romance. She should have snapped back to her senses after that - but she seems to fall deeper in love with him? Makes no sense.

And then we have Sparky the Edgemaster. One dimensional as fuck and boring.

Grace and her family are also really not that interesting, and the forced "cute" moments between her and the ponies are pretty grating. Shining's paternal tendencies toward her are pretty spot on though.

Shining suddenly falling into the role of "yessum massa" good boy after the time skip toward the end was pretty jarring. The stump thing I didn't get at all.

Overall I'd give the story 4/10. Seriously don't understand the hype. It's meh at best.
>>
>>29504796
Your opinions are pretty shit, m8.

Be that as it may, I feel like this is as good a time as any to make the announcement that Shiny and Corona will not be continued. The story is canceled, unless slaveventure anon wants to do something with the characters. This will probably be my last time posting in this thread, I need to get away from 4chan for the sake of my mental health.

He pushed himself harder than anyone. He wanted to be the best. The path he chose would be difficult, he knew that much when he started, but his commitment never wavered. Not even when his superiors ordered him to do bad things. But he wouldn't back down. So he got in trouble a lot."

>Gotta play this shit up, Anon. Make it awesome.

From yesterday's EQD drawfriend
>>
>>29462917
>You get about fifty feet from the house before you start realizing how terrible this decision probably is.
>The ponies don’t really want to hurt your friends, and they’re also the most talented unicorns on the farm aside from you. Even if something were to happen, they could probably handle themselves.
>Teleporting could be an issue, too. You hadn’t thought much about that scenario, but if it comes down to it teleporting four ponies all the way back to the house won’t be easy.
>But you can see their group in the distance, which means they can see yours as well. Turning back now after they’ve already seen you might make them give chase.
>Why are they even doing this? Even if they’d caught you by surprise and had their way with you, they’re taking a huge risk doing this. Few ponies here are stupid enough to think there won’t be massive retribution for a riot.
>Maybe it’s not even that, though. The other ponies could just be misinterpreting whatever this is. Probably best to go and find out yourself before anyone does anything hasty…
>And so, despite the second-guesses that fill your mind, you continue your march toward the yonder group of ponies. As they grow closer, you can make out the expressions of the mob’s front-facing members.
>Some gaze upon you with muted, almost masked anger. These expressions don’t scare you, you’ve seen them aplenty in the past several weeks. The ones that truly worry you contain unmitigated rage. Their eyes burn with the desire to see you hung from a tree limb, or ground to a pulp below their hooves.
>You’re within hearing distance, and you’ve long since held their full attention. You stop in your tracks, and hold out a hoof to keep your companions back as well. There’s no point in getting dangerously close to their group.
>>
>>29508273
>Neither party moves for a moment, aside from clothing, fur, and manes being ruffled by the icy winds. In the distance, behind them and amongst the buildings you all call home, you can see many more of the farm’s residents peering out at what’s unfolding before them.
>”So I reckon y’all know what’s goin’ on here, then?” a buff, young earth pony stallion asks from the front. His tony is colder than ice, and cuts through the winter air to freeze your heart.
“I’d rather not make assumptions. I’m hoping this, whatever it is, isn’t anything bad.”
>”Not for them,” he says, motioning to the unicorns flanking you on each side. “But we done had enough with you, Starlight Glimmer. Either you get the hell outta this farm, or we make ya wish ya had.”
>Then there’s no question in their motives, or their intentions. Talking this matter down isn’t going to be easy. But panicking now isn’t a good idea, they’re staying back at the moment.
“I know I’ve done wrongs. And I know and feel deeply the consequences of my actions. But believe me when I say I never wanted any of this, this authority. I’d rather have never taken it on.”
>He smiles, “Well, Glimmer, I don’t believe you. You might believe it, but not me. Ever since you got here you just been workin’ to get all nice an’ cozy with the bosses, don’t seem like the actions a somepony wantin’ to avoid power to me.”
“It’s the truth. But even if it wasn’t, is that really a reason to resort to violence?”
>”Oh, that ain’t the reason we’re out here. It’s just that folks don’t appreciate when murder goes unpunished. An’ they appreciate it less when the suspect has her critics whipped after she’s got away with it.”
>Technically, by any legal definition, the death would be negligence or at worst manslaughter. But telling them that probably won’t help your case in this informal outdoor court.
>>
>>29508311
“So, then, what? What can I do, for you all, for forgiveness?”
>”Runnin’ the hell off this farm, and not comin’ back.”
>Disregarding the illegality of that, you know you’re not ready to do that. Here you have friends, freedoms, a life, and maybe even a family of your own. You’re not going to throw that away.
“How about anything short of that?”
>He shrugs, “We got some rope and a tree. Or we can just buck n’ kick the life outta ya, if you prefer.”
>The words are left to simmer, and the tranquil silence is only broken by the sounds of wind rustling through what little vegetation remains on the landscape.
>You look to your right, at Lyra and Ruby Heart. The sun, now just beginning to touch the horizon, nearly blinds you as you look straight into it. But you’re nonetheless able to see their faces, set firmly against the group twenty yards ahead of you.
>To your left, Sunny Streak stands attempting to mirror their form, but failing to cover up the hint of nervousness that now plagues her features. But she sees you looking, and gives you a brief, almost imperceptible smile before returning her attention to the front.
>They’re here for you. They won’t fail you.
>And neither will your shields.
“And that’s your final word?”
>”Decision’s already been made, Glimmer,” the stallion says with a distinct firmness.
“Fine, then.” You strengthen the shield about you and your allies. “I’m going to give you one chance, now, to return to your quarters and back down. I am the single most powerful unicorn to ever live, and I could wipe you all out without the slightest of-“
>”Fuck off, Glimmer. You won’t do shit to us.”
>That remark came from a different member of the group, but the fallacy in his statement is striking. Perhaps you should capitalize on it.
“I wouldn’t? Then what are you out here for?”
>>
>>29508341
>”She’s a God-damned killer!” Another voice pipes up. “And look, she ain’t ashamed of it, neither!”
>Fear dances across their faces for a fleeting instant, but that effect is quickly replaced by a renewed vigor in their anger. The throng collectively narrows its eyes and raises its voice, and it seems your attempt at intimidation has only riled them up further.
>The stallion at the front takes a step forward.
>And then another, this time with others following suit.
>By the fourth step, the entire group has started moving.
>Your friends stiffen beside you, but you quietly reassure them. The shields are now strong enough to keep all of them back.
>Hopefully, they’ll see the futility in their attempts to reach you, and call it off. If not, you can use your magic to end this quickly.
>But as the group marches down the road, covering a third, then two fifths, then almost half the distance between you, your mind starts racing and wondering if the shield has been set up properly. They should have hit it by now, right? How are they still moving forward?
>Your rising panic is cut off suddenly when the front members of the group stop abruptly, and as the ponies behind them continue their march, they are pressed up against the near-invisible wall erected twenty feet from you.
>They shout and the group stops, allowing them to remove themselves from the wall. The ponies naturally try to find a way around it, but the bubble holds tight on all fronts, completely protecting your group.
>Within a few minutes of their reaching the bubble, each member of the group starts to express some amount of frustration or even defeat. Some are enraged further, while others seem to realize the inefficacy of their actions and start to settle down.
>>
>>29508371
>One or two even turn around and start to walk back, and it seems that your plan has worked.
>Until, between their ranks, you can see the tan coat of another pony racing toward the group.
>Long before you can see any cutie mark, face, eyes or racial features, you already know who it must be.
>Looking Glass has come to see the commotion, or even perhaps to help his tutor.
>Your eyes must have gone wide, and perhaps you lost a shade of color or two, because the ponies quickly turn around to view the incoming unicorn. Once again, you witness them reacting uniformly en masse, narrowing their vision and tightening their mouths.
>But their beef is with you, right? They’ll probably just tell him to fuck off, right?
>However, before any of them get a chance to call out – or heckle – his voice rings out with a distinctly angry tone, “What in hell is going on over here?!”
>”Get lost,” the same stallion from before orders, his hostility now directed away from you and toward your student. “Get lost ‘fore you end up like them. Mean, nasty, and trapped in a bubble with three dozen ponies crowdin’ around.”
>”Leave them alone! Don’t you have any idea what kind of trouble you’re going to be in after that?”
>”Trouble?” the stallion responds mockingly. “Boy, I hope I get sold the fuck off. I’m done living somewhere the bosses can not only kill us an’ get away with it, but give the same damn power to other ponies.”
>”Well, I can see they have a shield bubble up. You’re not going to get past that, a pony like Starlight can cast that in her sleep!”
>That’s bullshit, but you’d believe it if you didn’t know better. The spell is actually pretty taxing under this much load and being sustained for so long.
>>
>>29508408
>”Maybe,” he says, clearly frustrated by the prospect. But to your dismay, an inherently sinister grin soon replaces his scowl, and his attention hones in on Glass. “But if that’s the case, and they gotta put the bubble down for us, we might as well give ‘em some motivation.”
>He exchanges glances with a number of other ponies, and a set of more physically fit stallions begins to encircle Glass.
>No.
>No, if only it had been a week later! He was going to learn teleportation in a matter of days from now!
>But there’s no way he can defend himself against this crowd. And the look on his face shows that he knows it, too.
>He knows no shielding spells, but a ring of blue magic shoots up around him, keeping the crowd back behind a fence of kinetic magic. Smart move.
>He might actually be able to hold them back this way. You certainly hope so, as there isn’t really any way for you to shield him yourself.
>It’s starting to look like the group might back down again. The ponies have again grown frustrated, and a group has broken off and stomped away in anger.
>But, to your alarm, they don’t head back to the houses, or even out to the fields.
>Instead, they head for the nearby ditch, and start picking up rocks.
>You’re frozen for a moment, before collecting yourself enough to cast a kinetic spell to knock the ponies down.
>But the commotion causes the rest of the group to freeze, and look over to see what the splinter group had been doing. They see the rocks, and the quickly-recovering ponies.
>And many move over to join them.
>A few stallions you could knock over while holding up this shield, but fifteen or more? There’s little you can do other than knocking them back individually as they move over to pick up stones.
>The other unicorns try to help, but with their still-gimped magic they’re not able to make much progress.
>And, ultimately, one stallion launches his missile.
>>
>>29508438
>It arcs through the air, but your magic is occupied preventing others from doing the same. You can only watch its trajectory, and hope it’s a miss.
>But the stone strikes true, and lands directly above Looking Glass’s right eye. He falls to the ground, and the kinetic spell around him fails.
>Before you or anyone else can act, the crack of a rifle sounds from behind you, and a lead projectile goes spinning overhead. It’s a warning shot, but the message is clear.
>For you, it’s time to leave. For the ponies surrounding you, it’s gone too far.
>You’d expected to be able to teleport four ponies that distance, but five? It would be over 50% harder. A spell of this magnitude stands to seriously hurt you, or even kill a lesser unicorn.
>But as you look around and see the ponies starting to recover from the shot, another one cracks and whistles overhead, closer this time. If you don’t do it, then someone is going to get killed here, be it Looking Glass or one of the enraged ponies.
>So you charge up the spell for what may be the hardest teleport in your life, and zap yourself and your four friends out of the fray.
>…

I'll try to think of something, I'll let you know! When it comes to writing stuff you gotta just start letting words flow out. When you revisit it later, even if what you wrote isn't to your liking, you can better put a finger on why and take your story in a good direction.

Good seeing the real SWF

>>A month passes.
>>Other stuff might happen like The Saddling, Anon becoming aware of SlaveVenture, and Corona being even more tsundere, but Shiny passes his magical probation period with the implant attenuator.
>>The big day arrives, and they travel to the Para-Equine Secure Neuro Surgical Clinic to have the invasive implant finally removed, and Shiny permanently restored to his full magical strength. He is still a slave, but being trusted like this is a change in legal status as well.
>>Although clean and efficient, it's not a happy place for ponies. Literally where magic goes to die. It's Shinies second visit, and he's simultaneously elated and terrified. Anon holds my the hoof.
>>While Shiny is being prepped for surgery, who should they bump into but their old friend Sparky! Things are not going so well for him.
>>Removing the horn would reduce his value to negative (and there's always later...), but nobody is willing to stump for the cost of an implant either; he is here to get his nerves cut. We are inadvertently shown a pone recovering from the procedure, and it's not pretty.
>>Then Anon thinks "I just happen to own a used implant!"
>And that's how Sparky found himself begging the hated human slaver (and the even more hated collaborator) for the very shackle that would bind him.
>If we never see Sparky again, we at least have some closure, but Anon might pick him up cheap. If so, Shiny would have to be in charge of him when Anon was not around. The beaten but defiant slave we met at the beginning, who was magically whipped and bound by a collaborator, might end up in the same place himself! That might be a symmetrical place for "The End".
>>Still don't know what Coronas gift should be.
>Stallions reluctantly whipping stallions, with magic. Umpf.
>>
>>29510877
I seriously doubt Shining would ever whip another pony. And it's going to be a shit storm when he finds out Cadance whipped other ponies.
>>
>>29508527
>I just didn't want the story ruined by a climactic scene that didn't make sense
Remember: The show's writers change and make up rules whenever it suits them. Why shouldn't you?
>>
>>29510877
Some of that was supposed to be blacktext. Somehow a > got added to every line. Probably because I'm pone phosting.
>>
>>29510877
In all seriousness though, I really would love to see more of Sparky. He had potential as a character.
>>
>>29510940
You copied the text and then replied.
When you reply with a text copied to pocket it gets quoted automatically, I thik.
>>
>>29510906
Shiny will have come to value his relationship with Anon, his place in human society, and his own magic a great deal. Sparky might do something that jeopardizes this, or is just wrong. Shiny and Cadance are both very conflicted about it, but sometimes you must do what you would never-ever do. It's called drama and character development. If they are ever reunited it will be a shared hardship that brings them even closer together. And a shared fetish that they can indulge on each other!
>>
>>29511121
I think it would take something like Sparky hurting Grace somehow before Shining would ever willingly take the whip to him. And I don't think he'd let him get close enough to Grace to begin with for anything like that to happen. It might be interesting if - once Sparky actually DOES start to settle down enough, maybe he's introduced to her and accidentally hurts Shiny's little buddy somehow - maybe in a way that appears intentional but totally isn't - a misunderstanding leading to one of the harshest whippings Sparky's ever received, ironically under a lash wielded by one of his own kind.
>>
>>29511121
I think Shiny would be able to better understand Cadence's situation now that he's developed loyalty for Anon. He wouldn't be as willing to hold it against her.
>>
>>29509177
Coronas Christmas gift: a tracking / shock collar! Not a gift you might give just anyone, but for a slave pone it's a way around the leash laws. Wearing it she can run around in public, buy things it town, meet other ponies, take an introspective walk in the park, and imagine being a free mare, all while Anon chills at home with Shiney. But he is still holding her leash the whole time through a cell phone app: "Find My Pone" with location, video, and shock capabilities.
She thinks back on her time on the run, on the run again, at the vet, and wonders if freedom is even something she wants anymore. Kind of a bitter / sweet, bondage / freedom oneshot mostly independent of the main story.

This, but with some sympathy for the collaborator too, not just painting them cartoon evil. Shiny says they had full control of their magic and could have freed the whole camp. How did they come to this position of trust, what were they before?
>>
>>29508465
>In the blink of an eye, five ponies fall to the floor across Anon’s kitchen. He jumps in surprise, but almost immediately rushes over to the bleeding and knocked-out Looking Glass.
>You probably don’t show any outward injuries, but inside, the spell you just cast has taken a toll. Initially on your feet from the teleport, you collapse to the ground as your legs refuse to hold your weight.
>You’ve felt this only once before, but have read of its effects many times. Magical over-exertion is a dangerous condition for any unicorn, and leaves hundreds hospitalized every year in Equestria.
>A teleport over hundreds of yards with five ponies would normally only be even attempted by an alicorn or other incredibly powerful magic-wielder, like Discord. But you’ve not only attempted it here, but successfully accomplished it.
>But it has taken a toll on your mortal unicorn body. Muscles across your body all ache and cry out in their exhaustion simultaneously, while the otherwise ever-present tingle of magic has subdued to little more than a murmur within you. Your horn aches, and you feel dizzy and lightheaded. You’re glad you never got dinner, else you might have retched.
>Sounds are muffled and your vision is blurry, but you can make out the shapes of ponies and a single tall human rushing about the room. Several are crowded over the limp form of Looking Glass, while others rush about bringing things to them.
>After a minute, your head clears a bit, and you’re able to shakily bring yourself up to stand on your hooves. But a quick test of your magic reveals it to still be almost entirely wiped out, and momentarily creates a headache that threatens to send you crashing once more to the hardwood floor.
>>
>>29518622
>You half-walk, half-stumble over to Looking Glass, and can thankfully still clearly see the rise and fall of his flank as he breathes. There have been injuries, but no lives lost today.
>”Hey!” Anon shouts with a clap, snapping you out of your examinations. “Starlight, you hear me? You alright?”
“I think so… Not… not in the best shape.”
>”We gonna need to take you to the hospital too?” he asks with concern tugging at his features.
“I think I’ll be okay… just need to rest. But we need to get him to a doctor,” you say feebly, motioning to Looking Glass.
>”Aw shit!” Applebloom’s voice cuts in from across the room. You snap your head over to find her looking out one of the kitchen windows, toward where you’d been only moments before. “Anon, get over here!”
>The urgency in her tone makes him scramble upwards and over to the tall, Victorian-style window. “No, no this ain’t good,” he says to no one and everyone present. “They’re comin’ this way!”
>Applejack and Sweetie Belle stay to continue caring for Glass, but the rest of you all move over to one window or another along the same wall. True to Anon’s word, the group seems to have realized what happened quickly, and is now starting to move down the road toward the farm house.
>”Scoots, get the sheriff on the phone, tell ‘im we got a pony revolt! Sunny, you remember where I store the guns, right? Bring ‘em out, enough for me’n every unicorn we got.” He turns to you, “Starlight, can you set up a shield ‘round the home? Even just for a short while?”
>You test your magic once again, and while some control has been regained, it’s nowhere near enough to cast any kind of shielding spell, let alone one big enough for an entire building. Even if you stretched every fiber in your being to the max, to the point of near death, you’d not even be close to strong enough to do it.
>>
>>29518629
“That teleport sapped most of my magic. I’m sorry Anon, but I can’t, even if I killed myself in the process.”
>He rattles off a string of curses, more to himself than you. As he does so, he moves back over to the window where his rifle is still loaded and mounted, and takes a shot at the group.
>Alarmed, you press against the window, praying that his shot hasn’t struck true. But it appears to just be another warning shot, as the group stops and looks upwards where the bullet has evidently flown past them. But once again, they only remain in place for a moment, before once again starting their march toward the house.
>Anon continues firing off warning shots, but by the fifth shot, the magazine is out and the group barely notices his harmless fire. He sets aside the rifle and angrily slams the window shut, locking it in the process.
>In the attached living room, Sunny Streak and Sweetie Belle have begun checking and laying out firearms. Across the room from you, Scootaloo is on the phone with the authorities, urgently relaying the situation.
>Applejack is the sole attendant to Looking Glass, but with him still unconscious, there’s probably little reason to devote anyone more to his side.
>Big Mac is hurriedly rushing about the home, locking doors, windows, and even securing the hearths to protect from any crafty pegasi flying in from above.
>In short, the scene is one of chaos. Chaos, but a determined, frightened, and remarkably efficient chaos.
>”Starlight, is your magic good enough to hold a gun?” Lyra asks from the other room.
“I think so, but do we really need to, well, go this far?”
>”We ain’t gonna shoot nobody,” Anon answers for her. “But if they see us armed n’ ready to fight back, they probably won’t try anything. No matter how much they try, ain’t nobody on this farm who can block a bullet, who ain’t one a the unicorns in this room.”
>>
>>29518645
>With few other options, you hurry into the other room and examine the options. Anon’s collection of firearms is impressive, and reminds you of the sword and axe collections you’d seen from a few Canterlot diplomats, military officers, and exotic researchers.
>You know a bit about guns from internet research and video games, but like most ponies, you’d never before even dreamed of wielding one. You take a simple semi-automatic shotgun from the array, as it loads and operates without many kinks or curiosities.
>A quick glance outside reveals the mob of ponies rapidly approaching the home.
>The other unicorns each use their magic to grab a rifle or shotgun of their own, with Sweetie Belle taking a pink, modern rifle kept in a case bearing her name. Anon soon enters the room, and quickly grabs both an AK with a shoulder sling and a holstered sidearm.
>”I know we don’t got time for a gun safety class, but first rule, don’t aim at nothin’ you don’t wanna shoot,” Anon says to the room as he checks his own weapons. “Second rule, don’t you never pull that trigger if you ain’t ready to shoot. Third, keep the barrel pointed at the ground unless you’re bringing it up to aim. All y’all got it?”
>Brief affirmations sound from each of you. At this moment, Scootaloo flies in from the other room. “The sheriff’s got himself and a posse comin’ but they ain’t gonna get here for fifteen minutes. What should the rest of us do, Anon?”
>”Scoots, you take AJ and Applebloom and hole up with Looking Glass in the basement. Big Mac, just be ready in case things take a turn for the worse.” He turns back to the unicorns, “Ruby, Sunny, you both watch from the kitchen, make sure the ponies can see your guns. Lyra, you watch the west side of the home, and holler if they come ‘round that way.”
>>
>>29518649
>”Starlight, Sweetie, you’re with me and Big Mac here in the main room. We’re gonna open that front door and talk to ‘em. Remember, we don’t wanna be shootin’ nobody, so we’re just gonna try and drive ‘em off.”
>As each unicorn goes to her position, you line up at the front door with Anon, Sweetie Belle, and Big Mac. Behind you, you can hear Applejack and her sister struggling to carry Looking Glass soundly to the basement.
>It’s not long before the mob arrives in front of the house. The front door and porch are elevated, and you can now see the individual members of the group much more clearly. They’re at least forty or fifty strong: easily enough to have overwhelmed you had they caught you by surprise, but still a small minority of the ponies on the farm.
>Among them are unicorns, earth ponies, and even a couple pegasi. Your heart falls a little when you recognize Crystal Skies in their back ranks.
>”Not a step closer!” shouts Anon as they reach the base of the steps. He unslings his rifle and points it toward the group. Cautiously, you and Sweetie Belle do likewise. “Y’all got one final chance to head back, ‘fore I sell each and every one a you off at the auction! And trust me, I’ll make sure y’all get stuck with the hardest, cruelest labor I can find.”
>”I’m sure we can come to an agreement, Mr. Anonymous,” answers the same nameless stallion who’d led their group earlier. “Just get rid a Starlight Glimmer, and we got what we want. See? Negotiatin’ ain’t hard.”
>”Negotiating?” Anon scoffs. “Listen here, you lil’ scumbag. I ain’t gotta negotiate shit. I own you. You’re my goddamn property. Starlight’s my property too. And just like I ain’t about to sell my couch ‘cause my coffee table wants it gone, I ain’t about to get rid a her, neither.”
>>
>>29518658
>”That what you see us as? Just property? Just tools t’make you a fortune?” the stallion asks, anger tinging his voice.
>”Don’t matter what I see y’all as. At the end a the day, that’s how things are. I wanted to give y’all a better life, but I guess that ain’t enough for ya, huh?”
>”Bullshit,” the stallion replies, growing more confident in tone. “You ain’t ever cared about nothin’ but linnin’ your pockets. Tell me, ‘master’, you even know my name?”
>Anon stays silent, and his only reaction to the question is to squint his eyes slightly and readjust his weapon. “Thought not,” the stallion says, seemingly not put off by the rifle in the slightest.
>”So what now, huh?” Sweetie Belle pipes up. “All that bullshit don’t mean anything. You’ve got rifles pointed at you, we don’t. What do you think you’re going to do?”
>”Can’t shoot all of us.”
>Despite his bold assertion, no one moves an inch for a few moments. Instead, each group stares each other down, waiting for any movements. In reality, if it came to it, you probably could shoot them. Anon and Sweetie both have high-capacity rifles, and both probably know how to use them. And aside from the two or three pegasi in their ranks, the group below would have to ascend almost a full flight of stairs to reach you.
>But finally, a movement catches your eye. Near the back, several ponies shuffle around, but you can’t quite see their movements. Anon and Sweetie keep their weapons pointed on the front of the group, but you almost subconsciously move yours up toward the spot of movement.
>By now, it’s almost dark, and the group is mostly illuminated by the porch lights and radiance emanating from the home’s many tall windows. But they’re still shrouded in relative darkness.
>Which is what allows you to easily see when a small flame flickers between the ponies you’d trained your weapon on.
>>
>>29518672
>That small orange flicker quickly increases in size, and it would seem that they’ve lit up a torch. But if they plan to throw it, it probably wouldn’t be difficult to extinguish, even with your still-recovering state of magical ability.
>But as you inspect the new light source closer, something catches your eye. The flame is reflected off the object below it, unlike any primitive torch they could have made. It almost looks like… glass.
>And suddenly, the realization dawns on you that the ponies have crafted a crude, but highly dangerous weapon. They’ve torn a page from an anarchist’s playbook and created a Molotov cocktail, enough to set fire to both your group and the rest of the home.
>The ponies around the weapon’s wielder thin out, but giving a clearer view of the weapon. But apparently, Anon and Sweetie don’t recognize this new threat, as they keep their sights and their weapons centered on the ponies closest to the stairs.
>But their attentions are surely caught when the wielder takes to the air. His wings carry him but a few feet upwards, but his body is already tensed and ready to throw his projectile. In his hoof, you the flame illuminates the label of some high-proof vodka you’d left at a doorstep barely two weeks before. But its contents have long been consumed, and a far more sinister mixture now undoubtedly lies within.
>But before he can throw it, and before Anon and Sweetie can react, you feel your magic wrap around your shotgun’s trigger. And finally, Crystal Skies’ form starts to contort, and you see his hoof beginning to reach out and throw his blazing projectile toward you.
>>
>>29518685
>But in the middle of the throw, he’s cut off, as a small flare from the home’s front door is accompanied by the massive roar of a firearm. And suddenly, three objects fall in tandem. The red, smoking shell hits the ground first. Next comes the pegasus, his body failing to offer even the slightest air resistance to the fall. And, finally, so too does his bottle reach the ground, smashing open and releasing its contents.
>Your ears ring from the firearm, but you can still hear the screams that ring out from below as the Molotov explodes into the center of the group. Those outside of its initial reach quickly jump away from the fire, but many are suddenly burned or even set on fire as they fail to fully escape the rapidly-spreading fire.
>An unlucky few are caught in the center of its spread, and their terrible cries are both the loudest and the most jarring you can hear. But as their lungs rapidly fill with smoke and are deprived of oxygen, their screams fall silent to match the pegasus, whose unmoving form lies crumpled just beyond the reach of the flames.
>Most of the group turns to run or moves to put out their friends, but a few recover from their initial shock and turn back to the front door, an intense anger in their eyes illuminated by the fire raging before them. Seeing their reaction, Anon shouts at them to stay back.
>But they don’t, and five or six of the original group march past their wounded, dying, and dead comrades to the front steps. Anon shouts again, “Get back! Get back or I’ll shoot!”
>But they fail to heed his warning, and whether from recklessness, overwhelming anger, suicidal disposition, or a combination of the three, two finally place their hooves on the stairs.
>>
>>29518694
>Before they can move any further, your ears are again sent into shock as both Anon and Sweetie discharge their weapons. The ponies at the foot of the stairs, a unicorn and an earth pony, both stallions, fall almost simultaneously and move no more.
>The rest of the group is sent running, even leaving behind an unlucky pony or two who still struggle against the fire raging through their gasoline-stained coats.
>And the four of you still sit, stunned, watching them as they go. The last of the sun’s rays disappears from the horizon, and only the glow of electric lights from within the massive home breaks the dark.

>Anon is held partially responsible for the human deaths for creating and letting the situation get that bad
>Loses farm, money, and his 'family'
>Life for all ponies everywhere gets substantially worse
>All thanks to Starlight Glimmer, whose identity is revealed and is taken to some research facility where she is constantly experimented on.

Was surprised at this turn, but looking back it had a sort of inevitability. Now that things have gone this far, Anon will have to honor his threat, go back through the surveillance, and sell everypony who ever touched this to the harshest buyers he can find, even if he takes a loss on them. Hope you find some glimmer of hope for us before the end, HJ.
But thanks for breaking the drought too, it had been a while since real green.

Well, shit hitting the fan isn't a good enough phrase here. Only real option left is to separate and sell everyone in the mob, then make a speech to the whole farm so they know a mob tried tried to lynch someone and burn down the farmhouse, and how well that went for them.

Even with that much damage control, things are probably still fucked. One of these days we'll get a happy ending and nobody will know what to do.

>>Ask her to travel with you, but check with Star first.

"If you don't have a camp, you can stay here for the night."
>Turning slightly, Gloria rubs a little at the nape of her neck.
>"I mean, if it's okay with the both of you...?"
>Star nods, offering Gloria a quick smile.
>Yawning, she returns it.
>You think Gloria could be a useful companion, despite the drawbacks of traveling with a white mage.
>It might be useful to get Star's opinion, though.
>Probably shouldn't let Gloria know what you're discussing.
>Getting up, you wipe the dirt off robes.
"Star and I are just going to discuss some stuff about tomorrow, holler if you need something."
>She shrugs her shoulders, "Sure, go make your secret plans or whatever"
>Star tilts her head, probably knowing full well there isn't anything to discuss.
>Grabbing a burning stick to serve as a makeshift torch, you beckon Star over.
>You begin to speak, but Star beats you to the punch, holding her piece of slate close in the torchlight.
>"Has something changed? I thought we were going to arrive in Falsecrest tomorrow?"
>Lowering your voice, you figure it'd be best to just get straight to the issue at hand.
"I was thinking about asking Gloria if she wanted to travel with us. I figured your input might be helpful."
>"Well, how much of a problem would her being a white mage be?"
>Scratching at your stubble, you take a second to think.
"She could probably just wear different clothes and nobody'd ever know."
>"As long as she's willing to, more friends can't hurt."
>Technically, she could get you hurt.
>But you're willing to take that risk and it looks like Star is too.
>You flash Star a nervous smile and walk over to Gloria.
>Gloria is currently sprawled across her robe, which is set up in a fashion not dissimilar to a picnic blanket.
>She has also stripped down to a short white shift, and she is pretty easy on the eyes.
>She's muscular, but not enough that it takes away from her lithe form.
>Her tan skin-
>>
>>29526921

>"You gonna start painting me or something?"
>Your face instantly turns redder than that of the legendary mage's robes.
"W-what?"
>"Well, you've been staring at me for almost a minute. You going to start painting now or later."
>To punctuate that sentence she stretches her arms, causing her shift to slide up a little.
>If it's even possible, your blush further deepens.
>"Aw, shit!"
>Like lightning, she pulls her shift down again.
>Out of the corner of your eye, you see Star covering her eyes with her hooves.
>Well, it looks like that myth about tribals is true...
>When you look back at her, she's blushing just as badly.
>"A-anyway, what did you come over here for?"
>Shaking your head to clear your thoughts, you remember why you came here.
>"Uh, anyway. I wanted to know if you'd like to travel with us? Star told you that we were heading to Falsecrest, right?"
>Furrowing her brow, she stares at you for a second before responding.
>"I mean, I don't really need to get anywhere urgently, so sure. Why, though?"
"What do you mean? Why would I ask you to travel with us?"
>"Yep. Aren't you worried about traveling around with a white mage?"
>This isn't what you expected at all.
>Clearing your throat, you think for a second before responding.
"Well, you can just not wear your robes, right? There's safety in numbers and all that."
>Gloria sighs and shakes her head.
>"You're missing the point completely. I mean personally okay with traveling alongside a white mage."
>Oh.
>Rubbing her forehead, she continues.
>"I have a guarantee you're a good guy, unicorns don't make friends with just anyone. But me? You met me a couple hours ago, yet you aren't worried."
"Well, no I am worried. But Star agrees that it's a good idea, so why not?"
>At the mention of Star's approval, she cracks a toothy grin.
>>
>>29526939

>As if summoned by your mention of her, Star comes over, carrying her piece of slate.
>Moving your torch, you read it aloud to Gloria.
"You should know unicorns aren't always nice, I knew plenty of ponies you wouldn't want to trust."
>Still smiling, Gloria reaches up to scratch Star's withers.
>"Unicorns are plenty better than people, whether you believe it or not."
>Star frowns and begins to write again.
>This time, Star leans down so Gloria can see it
>"I'm just trying to tell you that it would be a very bad idea to trust everyp0ny you meet"
>"Okay, okay, I'll take your word for it, Twilight."
>Rolling over, Gloria essentially lays face-down upon her robes.
>"I'm going to bed now. Good night Twilight, good night Anon."
>Turning to you, Star rolls her eyes.
>In return, you offer her a shrug.
"G'night, Gloria"
>Out of the corner of your eye, you see a hand wave at you from the now bundled up robes.
>Tossing your makeshift torch back into the fire, you cast a quick Blizzard to put it out.
>Star has already pulled out the blankets from within your bags, setting up two adjacent makeshift beds.
>Shedding your robes, you climb right in.
>Reaching over to Star, you give her a quick scratch behind her ears.
>She just rolls her eyes again, but you know it doesn't really bother her.
>You hope not, at least.
>She's so fluffy for a pony and you'd be pretty disappointed if she didn't let you pet her anymore.
"Good night, Star"
>You receive a smile in return, before turning over and letting sleep overtake you.
~
>You wake up to the sensation of being shaken.
>"As cute as it is to watch you two sleep next to each other like this, we need to get going."
>Letting out a rather loud groan, you open your eyes.
>...to a sun that hasn't even risen yet.
"Too early. Sleep time is now."
>Closing your eyes, you never see her coming.
>>
>>29526944

>Closing your eyes, you never see her coming.
>Gloria pulls your blanket right out from under you, exposing your bare skin to the morning chill.
>You turn to give her a piece of your mind and are greeted with a set of robes in your face.
>"Let's get going! I'd like to be there in time for dinner, if you don't mind."
>Pulling the robes away from your face, you see both Star and Gloria are ready to leave.
>Star gives you a tired smile, juxtaposed by Gloria's exasperated sigh.
>Pulling your robes on, you point an accusatory finger at Gloria.
"Okay, I'll go, but you're never doing this again."
>Gloria begins to walk away, but you can hear the smirk in her voice.
>"As long you get up a little earlier, certainly."
>Shouldering your pack, you catch up to Gloria.
"Seriously, though we need to talk about how this is going to work."
>Raising her hands as in surrender, Gloria slows down.
>"Okay. I won't wake you and Star up anymore."
"No, I'm talking more generally. If we're going to be traveling together, I need to know what spells you know, what equipment you've got, and stuff like that."
>Crinkling her nose, she looks you dead in the eyes.
>"Asking a lady what spells she knows is like asking her age. Do you really wanna know?"
>It is a personal question, but you do need to know.
>Pointing your thumb at your chest, you offer the only response possible.
"Blizzard, Blizzara, Fire, Shade, Focus, Temper."
>Gloria gives an exaggerated slouch, but continues walking.
>>
>>29526951

>"Well, I've got a few. Cure, which is a pretty basic healing spell, cuts and scrapes is all it can handle. I've also got Shell, which reduces the effect of magic damage."
>Summoning a small ball of wind, she continues.
>"Then I've got Aero, Aerora, and Aeroga. The first can cut a branch, the second can cut a person, the final can cut a small clearing.
>You begin to speak, but she dismisses the orb of wind and raises a hand to stop you.
>"Aeroga'll take up all my mana for the day, so don't get any ideas about taking on a big group."
>She suddenly smacks her hand against her forehead.
>"Oh, I've got Haste, too. That one can speed you up a bit."
>She seems like a pretty capable mage, but you're hoping you won't need to test that out.
>She seems relatively versatile, she can probably even save you some money on potions, too.
>Besides Gloria, they're the only method of healing you have, and they aren't cheap.
>They're made from unicorn blood, which isn't exactly common.
>Your thoughts are interrupted by a tapping on the side of your head.
>"Hello? anybody in there? You aren't going to compliment my mage skills?"
>She throws her hair back, striking a pose.
"Yeah, you're great and all. Just trying to think about how that affects our capabilities and all."
>Gloria furrows her brow for a second, before pointing at Star.
>"And what can Twilight do, when she isn't Silenced and all?"
>Looking over at Star, you realize you never asked Star about her magic.
"What can you do, Star?"
>Star blushes, but stops so she can write on her slate.
>Luckily, you've been walking long enough that the sun has risen enough to illuminate her writing.
>>
>>29526963

>Luckily, you've been walking long enough that the sun has risen enough to illuminate her writing.
>"Basic Kinetics (Push, Pull, Hold, Concussive), Mid-level healing (Target, Self, and Group), Teleportation (Self, Object, and Group), Cloud Walking, Wings of Morning Dew (I suspect this one only works on ponies), Transmutation (Sentient and Object), Time Travel (which I don't recommend trying), Reveal Disguise, Basic Spell Reversion (Target and Self), Dark Magic (Enchant Target), and Basic Shielding (Target, Self, and Location).
"Holy shit"
>"Well, I guess the elders don't study under unicorns for nothing."
>Hearing your and Gloria's reactions, Star's blush deepens.
>Wiping away the list, Star replaces it with a single sentence.
>"I used to be really good at magic."
"Well, I think we can both see that..."
>She'd mentioned she trained with one of her princesses before, but she really didn't go into detail.
>Obviously they were pretty good teachers
>"Do you guys just know that stuff naturally or do other unicorns teach you guys this stuff? And why the Dark Magic? I thought unicorns specialized in Holy Magic?"
>Star practically shrinks back at the barrage of questions
>"Well, the dark magic was just one specific incident. As for where we learn it, I learned from books and my teacher."
>Apparently Star refrained from mentioning Equestria to her.
>>
>>29526983
>As you walk, you tell Gloria about Equestria.
>It's a lot more efficient than waiting for Star to write on her slate.
>You tell Gloria about the three races and two princesses, with the occasional interjection from Star.
>Gloria listens closely the whole time, enraptured by the concept of a nation populated by unicorns.
>When you tell her that neither of you know where Equestria, she practically sheds a tear.
>By the time you're done, you all stop for lunch.

Let's not forget the extremely unusual circumstances we found her in too...
>>
>>29518703
>By the time the sheriff arrived, you’d already had a final casualty count. Eight ponies lay dead, and another five were too injured to run with the rest of the group. An ambulance was called for them as well as Looking Glass, who’d regained consciousness soon after being brought to the basement but would still need medical attention.
>There was no more trouble that night, and to your slight surprise, surveillance revealed that every other pony was in his or her quarters by the time curfew locked them in.
>The next morning, the ponies were allowed out only to eat breakfast, monitored all the while by armed security hired by Anonymous. Thankfully, no more issues presented themselves, and once again they all went back to their quarters without struggle.
>It seemed that any resolve they’d had was thoroughly broken.
>As soon as breakfast was finished, Anon left the farm in the care of Applejack and the hired security. He, Lyra, Ruby Heart, and yourself had elected to drive down to the emergency medical center in town to visit Looking Glass.
>The other ponies had been taken to a much larger equine-specific facility in Nampa. Thankfully, all had survived the relatively long drive, and were in stable condition. Looking Glass, however, was being treated at great expense at a smaller but much closer medical center.
>It’s this medical center you find yourself driving to, looking out the window at barren fields and empty plains devoid of any color in the dry winter. There’s no music, no conversation in the car. In the back seat, you know Lyra is likely doing the same.
>But her head is probably bogged down with less guilt and less worry. Her soul is marred by less sin and less blood. Her person and image is smeared by fewer naysayers and less wrongdoing.
>>
>>29527927
>Cloud Skimmer had died under your care. You were responsible for her death, but it was through negligence and accident. But Crystal Skies, although you were no more or less responsible for his death, was instead directly struck down by your actions. It was a conscious effort, and a conscious pull of the trigger that cut his life short.
>And that’s to say nothing of the ponies who’d been burnt alive once the Molotov fell to the ground. They, too, would still be living, breathing, perhaps even happy had it not been for you. If only you’d kept your magic off the trigger, or maybe mustered every bit of energy you had to push him back and stop the throw…
>And again, you won’t face any sort of punishment for your actions. It wasn’t hard for the sheriff to determine that the scene was one of self-defense, but little would have likely been done even if that wasn’t the case. Most law enforcers take the word of a human over the word of a pony even in the face of overwhelming evidence.
>Was it even right, what you did? You were protecting those closest to you, sure. And despite their growth, the Crusaders are still far from being adults. If that Molotov cocktail had been allowed to arc through the air, not only would the four of you at the door been burnt alive, but the whole building would have been set alight.
>But at the very least Lyra, Ruby, and Sunny could have escaped any fire with a teleport. So you’d saved seven lives, at the most. Eight more paid the price, not counting those burnt and disfigured. Who are you to determine which set of lives is more valuable?
>And what if, even disregarding the numbers, what if they were in the right? Most of the ponies out for your blood only wanted to live their lives in peace, but here you come barging into their tranquility, bringing death and hardship while being placed on a pedestal by the bosses.
>>
>>29527933
>Violence may not have been the answer, but perhaps their cause was true after all.
>Your thoughts turn away from your own actions for a moment, and to those with you last night. You’d been responsible for six of the deaths, but Anon and Sweetie had each ended one of their own. You turn your head from the window to view the former.
>He stares straight ahead into the road, and you notice his grip on the steering wheel is tighter than normal. He’s been tense and understandably not talkative, but hasn’t truly shown any emotion since the incident.
>But Sweetie Belle is whom you’re most concerned about. She’s still young, and oh-so impressionable. Taking another pony’s life so early on in life is an experience that will stay with her to the day she dies an old mare.
>You ask these questions to none but yourself, or perhaps silently to the fields of dry, dead grass that pass outside the truck’s window. Finding no answers, you sigh and turn back to the cabin.
“Anon, Lyra, mind if I turn on the radio? I just… want something else to think about.”
>Anon casts an eye towards you, grunts in acknowledgement, and turns the radio on himself. The station is set by default to a late-morning local news broadcast, which none of you elect to switch away from. Their words and reporting will probably occupy your mind more than music, anyway.
>Election season is coming up. Maybe you should take the time to learn what each political party represents here, it might help you gain some perspective. Oh, and they’re building a new elementary school in town, that’s nice. Too bad ponies can’t attend.
>>
>>29527942
>”…And in our final story for this broadcast, we’ve received word of a, get this, a pony rebellion out on Sweet Wheat Acres, a local farm which has been cited for years as a model of modernized equine labor systems.”
>Oh, of course they’d report on it. Why would you think otherwise?
>”Sheriff Calwell reported that over four dozen ponies were involved in the insurrection, targeting their sole human overseer and several other ponies with managerial duties. Channel 3 News is reporting that although neither the farm’s owner nor any of the Sheriff’s posse were harmed, eight ponies-“
>The radio abruptly changes stations to a country music channel, with Lyra’s yellow magic enveloping the tuning knob. You look back to thank her, but she’s already looking back out her window. You elect to let the music wash over you, and let it overcome your sins and failures.
>But the music doesn’t stay on for long. You’re already almost to the town, and in just a few minutes, you’ll have arrived at the medical center.
>…
>>
>>29527949
>”Starlight! Lyra! Mr. Anonymous, you guys came to see me!” Looking Glass perks up from his hospital bed, one eye covered in the same bandages that wrap around his head. He winces in pain slightly, and slowly lies back down onto the pillow.
“Of course we came,” you reassure with a smile. “We wouldn’t let you rot in here all by yourself.”
>”They treatin’ you alright?” Anon asks with genuine concern. “I don’t want one a my best and bravest ponies takin’ any shit from the nurses and doctors.”
>”Best and bravest, I dunno about that, Mr. Anonymous. If it wasn’t for Starlight, who knows what could’ve happened?”
>His eyes, as emotionally affected as any other pony’s, look to you with a mixture of admiration and gratitude. He believes you to be his savior, the pony who saved his life. It may be true, but you’re also the reason it was in danger in the first place.
“I did what I had to… to protect you. To protect everyone.”
>That message is more for you than him, but he seems encouraged by it nonetheless. Of course, he’s likely clueless as to what fully occurred last night. He’d not had contact with anyone from the farm since last night, and he’d been transported in a separate ambulance. He might not have even seen any of the bodies in the darkness of the night.
>”So Glass,” Lyra says after a brief but awkward moment. “How’re you feeling? Doctors have anything good to say?”
>”They said I was unconscious for a pretty long time, so they’re going to monitor me and make sure nothing’s broken in my head. But aside from a nasty bruise and some cuts that should heal up, there’s nothing both obvious and serious.”
>”Glad to hear it. And don’t you worry, soon as they let you outta here we got a nice bed waitin’ for you in the farm house.”
>>
>>29527957
>”Really, Mr. Anonymous?” he responds with some surprise. “You’re letting me stay in the big house?”
>Anon is silent for a moment before answering, “I think it might be best t’get all you involved in last night’s incident living with us now. Starlight, Lyra, Ruby, Sunny, all y’all can stay, we got rooms to spare. Don’t think y’all are welcome any more in the pony housing.”
“All things considered… yeah. I was going to ask you about that too.”
>”By the way,” Looking Glass interjects, “What exactly did happen last night? I wasn’t really fully awake until after I got here.”
>”You don’t remember none of what you saw?” Anon asks.
>”Only some blurred faces, scenes, and some loud noises.”
>Anon, Lyra, and yourself are silent for a moment, glancing between each other for any tell on how to answer the question. At last Lyra speaks, “Glass… ponies died last night. Eight of them.”
>”W-what?”
“After we teleported to the house, they came after us,” you explain. “Things escalated, and one was about to throw a Molotov cocktail into the home. So we… we had to…”
>”We had to shoot ‘im,” Anon finishes for you. “And two more. Other five were lost when that cocktail exploded on the ground.”
>Looking Glass looks past you for a moment, taking in the short but jarring summary of last night’s events. “Were- were any of you hurt? Or Applejack, or Sweetie Belle, or-“
>”We’re all fine,” Anon answers, his intent to stop his line of questions short. “But that don’t mean we shouldn’t mourn the lives we lost last night. Even if we had to lose ‘em.”
>He’s silent for a moment, and the only noise in the room comes from the air vents and the loud television blasting through the walls from a room over. “Who pulled the trigger?” he finally asks.
>”I did,” Anon answers immediately. You look to him with some disbelief, but he keeps his eyes locked on Looking Glass.
>>
>>29527961
“No, Glass, it- it was both of us. We both had to do it. If that Molotov reached the home, it would have engulfed us, and probably burnt the building down around you.”
>”Well,” he says slowly, “then I guess you just have to put it behind you. It hurts, but sometimes doing the right thing hurts no matter how good the intention. You saved three fillies and an injured stallion, among others. I suppose losing a few of the others isn’t as bad as losing us.”
“Glass, c’mon, their lives are just as valid as ours.”
>”Are they, Starlight? Were they?” he asks with fresh determination. “You saw them ganging up on me yesterday. Do you think they cared about the value of my life, the one friend who wasn’t protected? Do you think any of them were thinking about whether it would be right or wrong to draw and quarter a unicorn they barely even knew?”
“I…”
>”Starlight, I can see it’s bothering you. You’ve looked crushed since the moment you walked through the door. But you made a decision, and that decision saved ponies’ lives. And would you rather save our lives, or the lives of the ones who were trying to end yours?”
>He’s probably right. After all, the five who died from the Molotov were killed accidentally. You’d been able to live with Cloud Skimmer’s death, why not the others? And Crystal Skies, well, anyone would have done the same. Your actions there had been pure self-defense.
>Hearing that from not just someone else, but one of the ponies you’d saved… it helps.
>…

>”Starlight, Lyra, we got one stop to make in town ‘fore we head back to the farm, alright?”
“Sure, Anon, where are we going?” you ask, eager to visit anywhere that’s not an immediate reminder of your moral quandary.
>”Suppose you’ll see when we get there. But it’s just a return, should only take a few minutes. Y’all can look in the store if you want, I know they ain’t got any pony policies.”
>He drives down the road a few blocks, before pulling into a small strip mall. He parks the car in front of a small jewelry store, and to your slight surprise, heads into the same building, a small box held in his left hand.
“Anon? You’re returning some jewelry?”
>He stops, looks at you for a moment, and then stares a bit longer at the box. “Might as well tell ya. It was for AJ,” he says, opening the box to reveal its contents. Inside is a dazzling necklace, with a massive orange citrine set in a pendant of silver, suspended from a chain of the same material. Although it lacks the apple shape of her Element amulet from Equestria, it certainly rivals it in beauty and craftsmanship.
>”I… I got this to let ‘er know how special she is to me. She… well, ah, I really dunno how to verbalize what I wanna say without y’all lookin’ at me funny. Was gonna give it to her last night, had it in my shirt pocket. But it just don’t feel right now.”
“It’s beautiful, Anon. Why are you returning it? She’d love this.”
>He flips the box over, pointing to a stain covering a little less than half of its bottom face. He says in a hushed tone, “Had to help pick up the bodies, never took this outta the shirt. When they got big buckshot holes in ‘em, that ain’t always a clean task. You can put together the rest.”
>>
>>29527983
>If only it could be so easy to discard your own stains. They seem to mar not your belongings, but your very being.
>A fresh order placed and an exchange made, the three of you quickly exit the store, to return to the farm and your new home within it. For better or more likely for worse, your life won’t be the same. There will be scars and reminders of your actions, but perhaps you can ignore them. Perhaps the faintest glimmer of hope still resides within you.
>Perhaps you can live with yourself.
>…

>A month later, Applejack is surprised by a stunning, custom-made platinum necklace. Centered in its pendant rests a large orange garnet. It, like its box, is free of stains.

Congrats on wrapping up Glimmyglam's story in a way that isn't horribly depressing. Hell of a ride. The unreliable narrator worked really well from start to finish.

Don't Leave Me by anon

>The two of you are sitting in silence.
>You want to say something to cheer her up, but it almost seems inappropriate to even try
>but from the look of it, the blonde haired pony seated on the other side of the bars looks like she’s about to break down
>shivering, lines of tears on her face

>you all knew what happened as soon as the side of the building collapsed.
>luckily, nopony else was there, but the damage was significant
>That was more than a full day’s work wasted, and a lot of materials wasted, too
>And when you saw the dust cloud settle and the pony responsible for all of the destruction emerge, you and other ponies had groaned

>but this wasn’t the Ponyville town hall.
>This wasn’t Equestria
>This was a camp
>you were all slaves

>and your Master was already an impatient man.

>once the gravity of the situation hit you, your heart broke.
>Derpy’s crooked eyes, when she looked at you from where the collapsed building lay, they had been so filled with fear that it made you dizzy
>>
>>29529432
>you already offered to take Derpy’s punishment for her
>but your Master was not one for vicarious punishments.
>“Whatever pony commits the crime, gets the punishment,” he told you.
>The coldness in his voice gave you an icy chill.
>you had continued to plead, but he heard none of it.

>Now, here you are, the day of the scheduled punishment.
>Derpy sits behind the bars of her holding cell
>head low, ears pinned back, and tail curling around her body for protection.
>She’s frozen to the spot, and you can see her ribs rising and falling

>Derpy’s voice was low, whispered, the low volume the only thing keeping her from breaking completely down
>“I-I’m s-s-scared, Doctor…”

>Such a simple statement.
>But it hit you in the gut like a thrown brick.
>You close your eyes, lip quivering and tears forming
>It wasn’t fair.
>She didn’t mean to be clumsy, forgetful
>She was so sweet and kind, and loving to all

“I know, I know, Derpy, I’m… I tried to take the whipping for you, but he told me no. I tried, so hard…”
>>
>>29529442
>Derpy looks up at you, and her crooked eyes actually manage to straighten enough for both of them to look at you
>She gasps, and her mouth opens up
>She shakes her head adamantly, and sobs

>“No! No, no, don’t… I would never! I would never do that to you!”

>You’re shocked by the raised tone in her voice
>It came so boldly, so unexpectedly that you flinch backward
>Derpy hangs her head, and slides down to the floor, crying softly into her hooves, wings unfurling defeatedly

>You feel short of breath
>Seeing Derpy cry was already enough to break your heart
>but the thought of watching her be whipped made your stomach do flips

>Derpy crawled forward over the cold floor, and reached her hoof through the bars
>She gazed up at you with her bleary eyes

>“Don’t leave… don’t go, Doctor, s-stay here with me until… until…”

>You don’t hesitate to grab hold of her hoof
>You squeeze it tight, and clasp your other hoof around it
>it feels so cold…
>>
>>29529449
“I won’t go, Derpy. I would never even dream of leaving now, my dear. Never.”

>Derpy sobs, and slides even closer to the bars, pressing her face up against them
>She fits more of her fore leg through and squeezes your hoof back
>Her eyes, trying so hard to focus solely on you, stare back at you gratefully
>You give her a simpering smile, trying to bring her just a little bit of warmth to this icy air

“We’re here, Derpy. We’re going to be here for you when this is over. We all love you, and I… I... I love you.”

>Your heart seizes up momentarily as your confession slips out
>But in the face of Derpy’s fear, you suddenly find courage swelling inside of you
>courage for her sake

>Derpy breathes in sharply
>her mouth gapes open
>You can feel her shivering stop for a moment as you caress her hoof

>She’s silent, but the corners of her mouth begin to turn upward
>And for a second you see her smile
>Her eyes flutter closed, and she sticks her nose through the bars as far she can go, trying so hard to get close to you
>You feel her snout touch your hoof through the bars, and the pleasantly warm air touches your fetlocks

“I love you, too…”
>>
>>29529454
CREEAAK WHUMP!

The heavy, metal door behind you both swings open, and collides with the wall
>You both jump, and you turn your head around

>The man standing in the doorway looks down at you with a neutral expression
>he points to Derpy, and holds up a ring of keys
>She shrinks away, and clasps your hooves for dear life as she sinks into the floor

>“It’s time to bring her out.”

-------------

(five minutes later)

>You had wanted to fight them.
>You had to hold yourself back as they let you walk out, and two more men walked into the holding area to retrieve Derpy
>Their unfeeling gazes made you want to scream

>you think back to where you just were
>you see her snout pressed between those metal bars
>can feel the gentle warmth of her breath on your hooves as you clasped them together

>you should have kissed her.
>You should have kissed her, and told her you loved her.
>Just one more time...

>you walk up the concrete ramp from the holding cell building
>A crowd of ponies has gathered around the stage
>it’s made of wooden boards, mostly, a simple flat platform
>and in the center, there is a tall, square wooden pole, with metal bracers on the sides for a pony’s hooves to keep them still
>and underneath that, there are tight wooden stocks for the back hooves, to keep them in place
>>
>>29529462
>from the large crowd, there is no hustle and bustle
>just silence
>Their eyes as you emerge from the ramp leading down to the prison cells all lock onto you, as you are escorted by guards out to them

>You can only greet them with a blank stare
>There is, after all, no good news to convey
>You are escorted past the metal gated barrier, and the gate shuts behind you, leaving you as just another pony in the crowd

>hardly even whispers can be heard from the other ponies
>but even with other floggings that have happened in the past, none were like this
>even though whippings were horrible, at least in the past you ponies could all see why they were deserved

>but everyone, EVERYONE, knew better about Derpy
>Everypony liked her
>and they all knew she could never hurt a fly, or even want to
>this had been a very serious accident, a very costly one, but it was still an accident
>not defiance, or rebellion, or intentional destruction

>but your Master did not see it that way.
>Whispers of Derpy’s sentencing had reached your ears just this morning
>and when you heard them, you didn’t want to believe them
>If the rumors were true…
>>
>>29529466
>During your brief visit to her cell only minutes ago, you dared not tell Derpy the rumors yourself.
>you hoped with all your heart they weren’t true.
>you had to hope.

>Startling you from stewing in the midst of your thoughts, you suddenly hear a murmur in the crowd
>your head turns, and then you see Derpy come into view
>She’s flanked by two guards, and a third one walks behind her
>and off to the left, another man walks up beside them all…

>There he is.
>It’s Master.
>his same, cold, unfeeling look as always
>large forehead revealed by his very short black hair
>he forges ahead of the rest, and walks up the stairs to the stage first

>Derpy is so terrified.
>you can just see it on her face
>she’s shaking at the knees, and her crossed eyes dart all around, taking in the whole scene
>You want so badly to run out there and hug her close, keep her safe, but you know that will do nothing.
>You try to get her attention from the crowd of ponies, but you get a sinking feeling in your stomach when she doesn’t see you.

>She ascends the steps to the stage
>The two guards flanking her stay very close, boxing her in
>but the one walking behind them crosses the platform, until he is standing next to the whipping post.
>>
>>29529474
>Derpy hides her eyes behind her blonde mane, shivering visibly
>You could swear that everypony in the crowd was staring straight up at her
>in the midst of the square, you could hear a pin drop

>Then, Master steps forward
>holds out his hands, gesturing to the entire crowd
>Now, the ponies shift their eyes to him

>and if looks could kill, none of you would be slaves.

>He appears totally unperturbed, however.
>He gets straight to the point, as usual, taking no time for fanciful introductions

“My ponies,” he says, voice neutral as ever, “Today, we are all here to witness the punishment of your fellow pony, Derpy Hooves. For the careless causing of extensive damage to major property, for jeopardizing the lives of my men and ponies, and for setting this building project back for weeks to come, Derpy has been sentenced to receive a flogging.”

>With every accusation, Derpy flinches
>and at the word “flogging” the tears start to flow
>Master pauses for a second for his words to sink in, and then, he steps aside to gesture to the whipping post

“And so, in accordance with the seriousness of these crimes, crimes of which have never been committed her before, Derpy shall receive the maximum punishment possible: 50 lashes.”

>Your heart stops.
>>
>>29529483
>The silence is chilling, as every pony present lets the sentence echo all around the big square.
>You stare up at the stage in stunned silence
>watching Derpy, and when you see her face, it makes you cry

>her complexion has gone pale, and it’s like all of the light in her bright, crossed eyes has been utterly extinguished
>tears suddenly and silently pour down her face,
>and she presses her quivering lips together

>20 lashes was a serious punishment that could reduce even the strongest ponies to tears.
>30 lashes lead to at least a day off of work for medical attention afterwards.
>40 lashes was severe enough to reduce a pony to delirium from the pain

>50 lashes…

>You have to hold yourself back
>damn it all, you want to go up there, past the guards
>you want to wrap your hooves around Master’s neck and break it like a toothpick
>the helpless fury, burning injustice, makes you unable to stop yourself from crying.

>Derpy breathes quickly and heavily as they escort her to the post
>her pupils are massive, and her wings twitch with fear
>she is too shocked to resist her captors as they take hold of her forehooves
>>
>>29529493
>you watch in helplessness as they stand her up on her hind hooves, and push her body into the upright square post
>her body is stretched taut, exposing her entire back and haunches
>then they clamp her hooves into metal cuffs on both sides of the post, raised well above her head
>Derpy’s neck is forced to bend awkwardly upward, staring up to the sky, chin rested on the flat side of the post

>You can no longer see her face, but even from a distance you can hear a sob leave her
>she shivers visibly, even from the distance you are standing at
>The horrible slavers now set up the stocks for her back hooves, fixing them in place so she cannot move her back away from the lash

>and finally, they bring forward a set of straps for her wings
>they force her to extend her wings out, pulling them with their hands
>and once they achieve this, they bend her wings down past her belly and tie them to the sides of the whipping post as well

>All that remains exposed of her wings are the large spines on her back
>you cringe, and feel faint just thinking about what even one mistaken lash to those incredibly sensitive spots could do to her
>for pegasi being whipped, a majority of the lashes were focused on the lower back and hindquarters for this very reason
>not even your Master, the man who just sentenced the most wonderful pony in the world to 50 lashes, permitted a lash to strike those wing spines
>>
>>29529504
>Derpy’s ribs heave, and she pulls at her restraints
>but they have a tight hold, making escape totally impossible
>her punishment has not even started yet, but she is already crying
>you hear her scared weeping, and your blood boils
>Derpy was too kind
>too gentle...

>Not one word is said as the man with the whip, a coiled strip of black leather about a meter long, walks up behind her
>It’s the same type of whip used in all other punishments
>designed to leave long, shallow stripes and cuts along the skin and hide
>If there is only one solace this day that can come to mind, it’s that Derpy wasn’t going to be flogged to death or disability
>this wasn’t that kind of whip
>but blood was going to be drawn nonetheless.

>you did not want to watch it
>but some part of you felt like you had to
>for some reason, you know that if it was you on that post, you would want Derpy to see it, too
>you would want to know someone you loved was there with you
>for some reason...

>Derpy quivers
>the man behind her looks on emotionlessly, a stomach-churning professional air about him
>He unrolls the whip in his hand and lets it lay slack, dangling to the platform
>Derpy senses the movement, and shuts her eyes tight, letting out a sob
>He looks over her exposed back and flanks, from her shoulders to her hocks
>You know 50 lashes meant that all of it was going to be affected
>you gag, and barely keep down the acid in your stomach

>The voice of your master rings out.

"50 lashes. Commence, now."

>Through blurry eyes, you gaze up at your best friend
>and your heart skips a beat as the man, intensely focused, raises the whip high
>Derpy shuts her eyes, grits her teeth, and tenses up

>and he brings the whip crashing down.

> Slipping back into the manor at this point is a significant risk on its own.
> If Haute Glamour caught you doing that...
> Still, you know the house better than she does at this point - and the danger of not doing anything far exceeds this danger.
> You wish you could teleport, but in truth your skills in that particular art, along with many of the unicorn's arts, had always been shaky at best.
> So you slip in, quieting your hoofsteps and keeping both ears pricked at attention for a hint of the intruder's voice.
> Most of the house staff simply nod to you in quiet greeting, by now used to your visits (and occasional nervous demeanor during them).
> No eyebrows rise even when you lay an ear to the dining room door, voices within discussing arcane measures of numbers and trends proving that the meeting is still going on.
> Hailing one of the house staff over with a gesture from your wings, you drop your voice to a whisper:
"Excuse me, but - do you happen to have an idea of how soon Anonymous is likely to be finishing with this...?"
> "Oh, he's already out. Left maybe an hour ago."
> He had?
"Ah..."
> "F'your looking for him, go grab him now 'fore he steps back in."
"Thank you."
> A sudden thought comes to you, and move to follow the stallion before he can leave:
"One other thing, actually. Have you seen a new pony around here - name of Haute Glamour, unicorn-"
> "-blood red mane, cream flanks, struts around like she's owning a stage? Yeah, I've seen 'er."
> He looks ready to spit, and you nod.
"She's been poking around here?"
> "Oh, yeah. Grabbin' one o'us here and there, askin' little questions... kinda pony you know somethin's wrong but y'don't know what, an' she's big stuff - something to do with all the important types in that room."
"Yes. Don't refuse her questions if she asks them, but... be wary. You're right - there's something wrong."
> "I hear ya, Miss Cadance."
>>
>>29529759

"In fact... if you could keep an eye on her, and send word to me if anything... significant happens, that would be even better. Tell the others, too."
> "...woah, now."
> The stallion gives you a wary eye as well, tail flicking.
> "What's this, some kind of plotting? We don't need more trouble - ponies hate us enough already just for being in here."
"If nopony does anything, it's going to get a lot worse. You said it yourself - there's something... off about her."
> He hesitates a moment, then nods.
> "Fair enough. We'll keep an ear up for her... but if trouble starts-"
"Then I'll be caught in it as much as you."
> Turning to split off, you leave the stallion feeling just slightly more confident.
> If Haute Glamour was going to go snooping around the camp, there wasn't any reason you couldn't have eyes and ears of your own.
> Now for Anonymous...
> You find him in his study, the door open and engrossed in his computer screens.
> He looks up when you tap on the door, motioning you in.
> "Cadance - how'd your half of the meeting go?"
"...not - awfully. I need to talk about Haute Glamour, though."
> "Yeah. She's apparently a very adept manager, according to Randall. Keeps everything and everyone in line for him."
"That is - exactly what I am concerned about, Master."
> Now Anonymous raises an eyebrow.
> "Oh?"
> You're unable to keep the anger - even disgust - from your voice.
"She's a manipulator and a bully. A queen bitch, I think the phrase is?"
> "...I take it the two of you really didn't get off on the right foot. Hoof. Whatever."
"It's more than that. She keeps Randall's ponies in line with intimidation and manipulation. She holds herself above them - and I'm concerned about what happens if she tries that here."
> Anonymous snorts softly.
> "I thought you said your half of the meeting went well."
"In as much as I don't think she suspects how sickening I find her? Yes, it was. Your plans are safe for the moment - but only just."
> "Well..."
>>
>>29529772

> Anonymous scratches his chin, pondering.
> "What exactly do you plan on doing about it?"
"I need to know what exactly her role in this is going to be. How much authority she actually has."
> "Alright, so - Randall's purpose for being here is basically to get my investors' at ease and assure them that I'm not going to squander their funds. He has a say in how things go, which I am legally obliged to consider... but he doesn't hold any actual position of authority."
"So he's an adviser. Nothing more."
> "Yes. That said, I've looked into him and he's a veteran with a long record of successes - and I don't have to remind you, I'm a relative rookie in this who caught one good idea. So I'll be damn well listening when he talks."
"And that extends to Haute Glamour as well, I suppose."
> You're unable to keep the frustration from your voice, and Anonymous notices.
> "Yes... and no. She's no authority and no order she gives is actually binding. But if she does have as strong a grip as you say..."
> Apparently the look on your face said enough, as Anonymous beckons you closer.
> When you drop to your haunches in front of him he reaches out to lightly scratch around your ears.
> The touch is not entirely unpleasant, but not what you are looking for at this time and so your ears flatten away from his fingers.
> "You're really concerned about this."
"I'm terrified. You know everything I've done, I've done for the sake of keeping the majority of ponies here safe."
> "You think Haute Glamour has the potential to reverse that?"
"You only need one bad egg."
> After a second, you add:
"Ordinarily, Anonymous, I wouldn't be concerned about this. Some little cliquishness, some little pettiness... those things are normal for ponies. I saw enough of that as a Princess - we lived in harmony, not utopia; those were things to be worked out, not feared. But now we're slaves; you've seen how positively ponies have reacted to having some little degree of control and power."
>>
>>29529780

> "I didn't invite you in to debate the rights and wrongs of slavery with me, Cadance."
"I'm not debating. I'm saying with that many ponies confined without power, if they get it into their heads that the kind of petty cruelty and control Haute Glamour pedals is attractive, desirable-"
> "Yeah, I remember what High School was like."
> You don't quite get the reference, but it seems to have suitably made the point judging by the contemplative look on Anonymous' face.
> "You know, I think there's a personal component in this too."
"Personal?"
> "It's not just that you're worried about what she might do. You just don't like her either."
> Your muzzle dips a bit, tail flicking with emotions long contained.
"I... can't say 'no'. I do personally dislike her - she holds herself above ponies, thinks she's somehow not just better off but actually better than them."
> "A far call from what you used to do as a Princess, I suppose."
"Yes. We were rulers, yes, but we ruled for the benefit of our subjects. Independence and self-improvement was to be encouraged, not beaten down."
> From the look on his face, he'd already thought of that and was presumably looking for something else in your answer.
> "Alright, Cadance, you've given me a solid argument - if only because you've proven yourself so far and it's pretty clear the two of you are of differing opinions."
> Leaning out of his seat, Anonymous clasps his hands between his legs and brings his face closer to your muzzle.
> "But not told me what you want to do about this - or think I should do."
> Was he offering a dare there, or a warning not to try and instruct him on his own affairs?
> Much as you found her disgusting, Haute Glamour had a point in that you'd made yourself valuable to him, and could thus get away with certain things.
> Then again, an argument with Anonymous right now might not be what you really needed...
> But then again, again it might be better to argue now than later.

>>29529801

What are we saying?
> "Get her out of here. I don't care how, I don't care with what excuse. But we can't afford a snake in the garden."
> "Keep her bottled up with tasks in the manor. I'll get the expansion done on my own."
> "Give me full authority over her as an actual subordinate, so I can keep her in line as if she was one of yours."
> "Nothing. I'm just warning you, so that when you do have to act against her you understand why."
(Or suggest your own)
>>
>>29529805
Get rid of her. We can't risk her being sneaking around behind our backs.
>>
>>29529805
>> "Give me full authority over her as an actual subordinate, so I can keep her in line as if she was one of yours."
>> "Nothing. I'm just warning you, so that when you do have to act against her you understand why."

Maybe a mix of these, he can't afford to shut her and by extension Randall out completely, we can keep he busy with make-work though keep the fact that we're in charge a secret for now, no need to let slip how much power we will have.
>>
>>29529903
1. That would mess up Anon's business relationship with Randall, which would immediately scare off every investor. Kicking her out isn't an option.

2. Sticking her in the manor would minimize damage to the camp as a whole, but also give her direct access to Anon's more sensitive business details, Megan, McFlurry, and best daughteru Mocha. She'd likely blame us for her shitty position.

3. Subordinate might work, but it would be a very long set of dice rolls for Cadence. Randall would be happy, and there might be something useful Haute can do with her talents. And having direct contact with her as your 'advisor' would let you keep a leash on her worse tendencies, and maybe teach her better methods of achieving her own goals that doesn't involve being a playground bully. But it puts her in the camp and likely on her own frequently. Very risky, potentially high reward for Anon. Possible minor redemption if Haute sees how well the velvet glove works. Most likely option to stay on her good side, if nothing else.

4. Giving her free run might be okay, might be suicide. Just depends on how much we play along. If we can keep her thinking we're kindred souls and reward her properly it'll stop her from causing trouble for the hell of it, but that would have a very bad impact on the camp and our image. More likely it'd lead to clashing power structures, which is even worse.

Do we hedge our bets? Or high risk high reward?
>>
>>29529805
>"Give me full authority over her as an actual subordinate, so I can keep her in line as if she was one of yours."

I have the feeling she won't like this at all and will try sabotage. Seems like the best option out of the bunch though, considering we have eyes at least in the house and can get more eyes in the watch easily since we're on good terms with Tunderlane.

Anon can play it off to her as some bullshit like, "This is a lot more ponies than you're used to and Cadance has more experience with it, so I'm still putting her in a position to order you." She will suck his dick dry at any command and excuse to hold some kind of power anyways.

>What are we saying?

Can Candance still make love spells?
I would like him to use it on Glamor to fall in love with the most rude, brute and dirty worker stallion of the whole plantation and that she will end up getting dirtier than hooves just to be near him
>>
>>29530100
Haha, love roofies. That is dirty. I love it. I'd say do this if Glamor does something drastic first.
>>
>>29529805
Well, they already knew Anon and his business, it would be appropriate that now Anon and Candance knew how Randall manages his ponies, so Anon would see if the princess's suspicions are true
>>
>>29526995
Ask Star how she got here. Not only does it give us some insight into her, it also might give us a heads-up about any trouble we're wandering into.

>>29527989
Wow. That was... rapid. I was expecting the shooting to be the first step in a long spiral downward. I also sort of wish we'd gotten to know more about Anon and AJ's relationship at this point; it's been mostly focused on Anon and Glimglam, so the bit about the gem kind of pops up out of the blue. Obviously they seem closer than even the CMC are, but details would have been good.

That said, you've really got Glimglam's twisted morality down pat. She's not so much self-centered as she is really just empty inside. Hell, I sort of wish this kind of portrayal was what the show had run with - outright showing the long-term negative consequences of her actions, and not playing her mindset off as something that can be abandoned on a whim.

>>29529517
Reserving judgement on this one until the end.
>>
>>29526995
Option 2. More magic sounds good. Class change, not necessarily.
>>
>>29529805
Keep her in the mansion and ask Anon to keep an eye on her, just so she wont start shit.
Also, ask Anon to talk with Randal about keeping ponies in check, to sound the ground about exactly how much hes aware of. Dont sell Haute out, that will only make her go out for blood.

I would do this:
>keep her in mansion
>monitor her
>make Anon try to get info from Randal about how he keeps his ponies in check, to know how much he knows about Haute actions
>if Haute starts her shit in the mansion, cut her down, maybe notice Randal about it.

I mean, it's not an awful idea but can you imagine how much mindraping a pony into obedience is going to fuck with Cadance's head? Deserved or not, destroying a pony's self-determination and essentially brainwashing them is a pretty harsh action.
>>
>>29530752
>show should have tried this
I feel like the show wouldn't really have been able to off the long term consequences, if they tried it would've been a bit half-assed.
>>
>>29533399
She literally does this in the show with zero guilt. Petty matters of morality mean nothing to your alicorn demigods.
>>
>>29533414
Don't disagree with you, but I think halfassing it and not being able to deal with the long-term consequences is exactly what the show actually did: Glimglam clearly shows some sociopathic tendencies, but both said tendencies and the results of what they drive her to do are basically dropped by the end of her episode(s).

Candance must convince Anon of the danger that Haute can be to Megan and Flurry if they lead in the future, but first he must show Haute the difference between a Queen Bitch and a true Princess of Equestria

That she invites Haute to the property during a whole day's work, to see Candance lead the ponies, attend to their needs and listen to their suggestions, even work beside her by messing with the hooves, the fur and the real mane, in the Fields, in the workshops, in the hospital, that realizes that arriving the moment to whom the ponies would really follow

>>29533399
>>29533631

Let's assume that in Equestria love is something that can not be forced on the ponies and that the magic of Candance only works on those who have a special bond so that the spell can allow the union, because it should then affect two strangers? The truth is that only I can think of two options:

1) Both ponies in spite of their differences share something in common; Both wish to be their special pony, but the nature of the events and the way they have had to be formed to survive in an environment of slavery and deprivation has forced them to be different from what they should be if they lived free in Equestria, Haute Glamor can act as a Queen Bitch in this world because it was the only way in which she could survive in a society where the ponies live as long as their utility allows and that is why she tramples and despises other ponies and always tries to be in the Top, the Stallion 'X' could have suffered many abuses and penalties before falling into the hands of Anon and now is a pony that feels empty or bitter and does not want to have ties with somepony not to suffer the penalty of losing it in the future and only concentrates on the work and nothing more, neither his appearance nor the other ponies he sees he does not give a shit, he just wants to stop feeling.

2) No particular reason, I just thought it would be funny

I agree we can't get rid of her, not without antagonizing Randall and putting things in jeopardy. Just letting her do as she pleases is too dangerous imo as well as >>29529998 stated, we can't just ignore her and hope we can keep her in line

It seems to be a toss up between 2 and 3. Pro's of 2 mean keeping her to a finite area where there are limited ponies she can manipulate are, and what's more those ponies are mostly on our side and with Anon there as well her options are limited. But it does also make her the most agitated being cooped up, and Randall probably wants her on the camp where the actual business is happening. Choosing 3 with her under our direct supervision is probably the best option of the bunch, as even though she's in the midst of it all we can keep eyes on her between us and the watch.

I would like to see if we could go for an inbetween of 2 and 3: take her on as our own, but when it's not necessary she be out on the camp have her do her work in the manor where she can live in comfort and not hurt as many ponies (and keep a vigil out for the house-ponies she might try and abuse while she's there, smaller quantity to keep track of). The one downside is letting her be this close to Flurry Heart and Megan, who are ultra impressionable, but maybe we can trust Mocha/Anon to keep her from them.

Final 3500 word update for Glimmer of Hope tomorrow. It's not necessarily the end of the story line for Anon and the ponies, just this particular tale. I'm probably going to write offshoots with them later down the line. You'll see what I mean, there's like anywhere from three to ten potential plots I could do for fun from what happens in the epilogue. However, I'm going to start another long fic (probably 30k words or more) with Dash and her jolly jazz negro.

>>29537008
I use MS Word. Office costs me 7 bux a month but I use it enough to justify it. If you have money, it really is the best writing software (I've used a lot). GDocs is OK but with larger files it struggles and takes forever to load. Free MS Word alternatives are also OK but nowhere near as good in features or polish. Whatever you do don't get Ommwriter, it's a meme and I fell for it. I say if you can pay for anything or are willing to pay for anything, make it Office 365.

Honestly, I stepped away from checklists for two reasons: One, they are indeed boring as fuck and I didn't want to bore readers out. Two, I'm less familiar with them than other aspects of aviation (especially for multi-engine aircraft), and didn't want to throw in some embarrassing fuckups.
