GET THIS, GUYS.
Spike's pen-pals with a NAMBY PAMBY PONY PRINCESS!
>Kick his ass for being a wuss.
Hehe he hehe
Am I literally the only one in this fandom that had a bully that had a fucked up home life? I see spergs complain that bullies don't deserve any sympathy, but every bully I had was always fucked up.
Was the dragon from Dragonshy really an asshole, honestly?
>He was born from a test at Celestia's school just like Spike
>The unicorn abused and abandoned him, so he ran away from Canterlot and wandered Equestria until he found the other dragons
Tons of people have fucked up home lives, and its a bullshit excuse. This sounds like one of those everyone can be rehabilitated and stuck back into society speeches.
Everyone has free will, and they should face consequences for the actions they choose. Theres no excuses, and some people really could not give any less of a fuck about anything that doesnt effect them. They exist. Ive lived with one for a decade.
And yes, he was. "Hey can you move a bit? Youre killing us." "Nah, fuck off."
That would be really fucking weird, and imply weird shit about where Celestia got so many eggs.
Fuck, I just don't want any sort of redemption of dragons to be SJW bullshit.
They get their own series when Spike becomes a teenager. It's terrible but you can't stop watching it.
No one wants that.
I thought it might be cool if he went to try to stop the Dragons from being assholes and they turned him away and then he eventually grew up and became one of the great leaders of their race; leading by example.
Honestly I had an idea for an episode that basically goes like this:
>Spike gets sent to dragonlands for friendship problem
>Succession crisis in the kingdom, no heir to the throne because the king's son was lost, leadership of bands disunited
>Generations ago as an egg the heir was lost
>Spike arrives, treated like shit for being around ponies
>Some dragons stop and listen to him, begin to like it
>Take him to king, who looks familiar
>Eventually Celestia comes on scene and reveals how her scouts found a dragon egg
>King dragon nearly kills Celestia for stealing his son, is stopped by Spike with a speech about the usefulness of friendship
>King dragon and Celestia call truce, first time dragons and ponies have ever done this
>"One day this will all be yours, Prince Spike. My...son."
>Goes home, learns valuable lesson about self and his existence, has a future
This would make Celestia into an irredeemable cunt though. She finds an egg and uses it to test unicorns for who knows how long?
It was either that or leave it for dead. She was trying to protect a child, regardless of what it was. You could make the dragons have a Queen maybe, then you could bring the motherly angle because it's his mom.
And she gave the dragon within to the most powerful new magical force in Equestria. It's not like he was abused by failed attempts.
But they know where the dragon lands are, they know where to bring the egg if Celestia decides to show up there. I understand protecting the egg when she finds it but making no effort to return it + using it for magic unicorn experiments is kind of jerkass on her part.
It would be too similar to the Griffins now. Also spike does not have a cutie mark so he can not get called to go places by the map, which is weird because he has his own throne.
Perhaps a combination of both ideas would turn out pretty good. He shows up in the dragon lands and is treated like shit and is shown no respect despite all of his best efforts.
He would then finally leave having felt like he didn't actually accomplish anything which would confuse him until much later when his efforts actually bear fruit. I think it would just be interesting to see a story that doesn't resolve itself right away.
You know, she tried to send a letter to the dragons once when she knew Spike was going to see the migration, but she just assumed the letter didn't make it through. Must have been magical interference. Celestia just assumed they didn't care.
They probably honestly had just found the egg, actually they would have been missing the egg just for a few years rather than generations.
Hey, it could get pretty edgy.
I'm sure the map would find some way. Just a green flame or some shit, idk. I don't think if he went to the dragonlands he would leave without some sort of accomplishment for both the dragons and himself.
>egg only missing a few months-years
>lets use unstable young unicorn magic to hatch that nigga!
You try to make it better but you make it worse. Imagine if Spike is the way he is physically BECAUSE Twilight forcibly hatched him?
Yeah I was trying to get across when he leaves feeling like he didn't actually do anything even though the map tells him that he accomplished already went there to do and then he doesn't find out until much later than actually happened. Maybe he inspired some younger generation or something.
All that did was instill pony magic within him. If anything it helped him.
I still kind of like the idea that ponies kept trying to say stuff but dragons wouldn't give them the time of day to even say anything because it typically never means good news when ponies show up.
And then of course the one time Celestia basically had an "in" to a large group of dragons where they could learn the truth? Well, I guess Celestia didn't expect Spike to spend all of his time with teenagers who didn't know anything about it.
Yes, I'm turning that red herring from Dragon Quest into a major plot point.
But living as long as they do and being as powerful as they are, dragons become assholes. I like to think Spike will be different but that will lead to its own bag of problems. Pic very related.
I love seeing images of him reading over Twilight's shoulder because it makes me think of that while other dragons gather gold and stuff he will gather knowledge and become one of the wisest creatures in the world.
>I see a whole army of my countrymen here in defiance of tyranny. You have come to fight as free dragons, and free dragons you are. What would you do without freedom? Will you fight?
I was trying to set it up as something that would give Spike a future. By helping to lead a rebellion to remove the king, he'd have to take his place as the king right away. He wouldn't learn anymore lessons and he would be away from his pony friends.
Nope, what I think would happen is that he ends up convincing the king dragon, regardless of whether or not he's actually related by blood to Spike, to change his ways. Because of his inspiration of his kind and the role he took in bringing about peace, he would be crowned prince and be the heir to the throne.
Of course, that would be a long time away, and he has a lot of life to live and a lot of experiences to make before that. Dragonkind will already have been better with the new kind king on the throne, who welcomed friendship into his rule of previously disunited and bickering tribes.
dragons are like that girl from accounting,
Janice. they don't give a fuck
Themselves. At some point you realize that at least a loose confederation of tribes is more beneficial than constantly fighting each other.
Also, show the slightest bit of weakness and griffons or ponies would be happy to invade and scoop up resources and land during internal chaos.
>imply weird shit about where Celestia got so many eggs.
Isn't it obvious? She didn't eat all of them.
