Anyway, the issue with Rider vs Rider in movies is that there isn't enough screentime to make multiple battles actually feel like they're being fair to the Riders involved. We always end up feeling like the Riders in movies are beaten way too easily due to that.

I think more than those, that Ichigo was meant to be a Shocker Cyborg makes a Rider being heroic look more like the oddity. That's also the whole thing with Riders using the villains' power to fight against them. basically there's a sort of duality in the theming of Kamen Rider that makes that rub me the wrong way.

This was my problem with Ghost and Ex-Aid too. I can get Riders having different goals which clash with each other, and starting out as enemies but learning to get along. But when they're constantly fighting to the point where it serves them no purpose and prevents them from getting shit done, it takes me out of the story.

They do, you're just not aware of it. There was a big fuss for a long time about Germany's aging population. It's just that Japan is the 3rd, previously 2nd, biggest economy in the world and while Germany (4th) has seen a population decline, it hasn't seen it at nearly the same scale as Japan. Their population has gone down by at least a million since 2010, a decline that hasn't happened to any of the other top economies, and it's only accelerating.
Sure, as a third party who only pirates their media and maybe buys some toys every now and then, you might not see why it's a big deal. However, it's definitely a massive crisis for Japan, both for the government that is seeing a massive loss of prestige and global influence, and for the next few generations who will have terrible economic hardship (who also happen to be the most pessimistic in almost all of Asia about their future). Korea has recently been exporting culture and technology more rapidly and successfully than Japan has, China and surrounding Asian countries are topping world university rankings while Japan's most prestigious university just keeps dropping down the ranks...
